Ferrari Type 056 V8 90 degree angle 18,000RPM. The V8 off the E92 M3 is sweet tooo 8,400 RPM redline is pretty good for a street V8.:D

needs visuals :)

for classic sound definately the 454ci GM comes to mind :)

best in the world, so many nice variants, euros would get my vote (mmm AMG sedan, love the CL) or the custom made block and head that's in this Studebaker that drove to a show I was at in Ohio from a few states over, Summit Racing ftmfw :), and some others from the show including 454 equipped Nova and 600ci gm performance packed Camaro

mmm Ford powered Celica, fits better than the toyota v8, more room to get around, cheap as chips, more aftermarket support, win win

Audi V8'sake the most deliciously mellow sound. But Ferrari V8s get my vote.

i dont want to start shit here but correct me if im wrong, it was under my impression that the mugen v8 was based on the 308 which is a GMH motor, just internals they did.
not that im biased, i just want to know.......

EDIT?
my bad i thought it was the mugen v8 that was in discussion not the honda one.... but any comfirmation on the origins?

honda is a premier motor building company as if they need a dinosaur design of a another company to design a motor which can spin to 19k rpm

I think it would be the latest bmw m3 e92 with 4.0L v8 DOHC S65B40
The S65B40 was based on the S85B50 5-litre V10 that powers the E60/E61 M5 and the E63/E64 M6

414 bhp (309 kW; 420 PS) at 8,300 rpm
peak torque at 400 N·m (300 lb·ft) at 3,900 rpm,
power increase of 22% over the E46 M3. The engine weighs 15 kg (33 lb) less than the outgoing six cylinder for a total weight of 202 kg (450 lb)

But in the M3 GTS has 4.4L v8 that produces 450 bhp (336 kW; 456 PS) (not sold in Aus )

I do agree some of the old chevy's ad ford v8 were great in there day but now they old technology that is use in drag racing, nascar and v8 supercars

funny u say this... in drag racing esp in supercharged outlaws, doorslammer and top fuel categories they still use fairly old technology, e.g. carby's, pushrod v8, the use of cams instead of a pheumatic (or however you spell it) valve systems.

and nascar dont use electronics and are still carby aswell which is awesome for reliable 800hp

no attack here just my 2 cents worth.

saw a guy on the tube with an older worked M5 making 1000hp, couldn't use it as a track car as the thing once leaving the corners would have no traction until the next corner lol

mmm M5 v8s

Holden haven't built a V8 since the old 5L, the rest are Chevrolet. Picky I know :p

Haha Holden haven't built anything themselves since '95 when they split off from Toyota. Dopey buggers.
