From what it says in the Haynes manual, you just pour it in until it seeps out of the filler hole. But to be accurate, the car needs to be level on the ground instead of jacked up.

i'm doing it thru the vss
i've drained the fluid completely and need to fill it again
the supercheapauto guy said 3.8 litres - does that sound right?
he drives a fully modified coupe and he didn't even know how to fill transmission fluid when i asked him so i dont know if' hes a credible source

he sounds like a tool no offence.
Just buy 3 containers of MTF , remove drivers side tyre while jacked up , lower the car so its horizontal , open side fill hole , and top up slowly from the VSS hole until MTF slowly leaks out of the OEM fill hole. then , reinstall fill bolt with a new washer and thats it.
Those at "super cheap" dont know the horse they rode in on rofl...

3.8 seems too much as it should be around 2.5L. Maybe that guy is thinking about a Land Rover with a phatt Auto tranny or something...
But to be safe, get about 3L. You can use the rest another time for topping up.

yeh my plan was to get the engine running before putting the axles back in.
so it's gonna be up on jacks for awhile..
if someone has the number of litres that would be really helpful

when i went into honda to get MTF it said 3.8L for B18C but ended up with 3L as 3.8L isnt right.. pretty sure it woud be around 2.5 - 2.8L, just fill till it seeps out top hole.

I remove the VSS and use the VSS as a 'dipstick' when I can dip the VSS back in and see oil covering the VSS gear, she is full.
