View Full Version : Lowering Integra & new Rims

Currently my DC2 is 100% stock outside. Including springs and rims.
I'm getting some new rims - 17x7 (205/45/17). However, at the same time I'll be lowering it.
I just want to know, how much do I want to drop it? I don't want to have the slammed look and I don't want to rip my headers off on a normal road. But I do want it low with a nice stance.
Will 2" be fine? or 3"? I know at the moment theres roughly 3" gap between the arches and tyres.
Thanks,
Matt

2.5" is a good drop. the springs will sag after a while and the car will drop a bit more.

you should wait till you put the rims on first and see how it sits, most likely it will sit higher, then see the gap again between the tyre and guard. and also make sure you dont go too low that the tyre will scrape on the guard! im speakin from experieence LoL

I do want to get it done in one hit. Lots of people have 17's on there DC2's here so I was hoping someone could just tell me the optimal drop. But yeh, if it's too hard to say, I don't mind waiting till after the rims are on.

if you get the new rims chucked in and dropped at the same time you can usually get a deal from the mechanics.
Get a 2.5" drop on king springs.

2.5" sounds reasonable, i had the car sitting on king super low springs, im not sure how much lower that is compre to stock springs, then when i put 18 inch rims on (215/35/R18) and i had to get it raised cos the guard would hit the tyre! thats the mistake i made of lowering it before i got the rims!
