On the weekend i just saw the SRS light up on my dash when driving and its still on. All i wanna know is what could be the problem and how to fix it. I drive a 97 TEG VTIR.

Cheers if you can help out.

SRS is the system that controls your airbags

Some ways that can cause ur SRS light to be "ON" -

Letting battery drain too low
Bad Sensor
Blown fuse
Unplugging the car’s battery
Removing the gauge cluster/installing aftermarket gauges
G-Force sensors that are under each of the front fenders
Bad clockspring (located inside your steering wheel)
Bad ECU
Bad reverse light switch on transmission
Car was in an accident
Airbag defective/unplugged

some one did a DIY on how to reset the srs ecu. start their

before you reset it read the codes from the SRS ecu. it will help point you in the right direction

and if you cant clear them means you need a new SRS unit (I think, pretty sure)

not realy,

you can clear a code and it will pop up imediatley if the problem is their.

many times I have put a known good ecu in a car and the codes wont go away because of a problem
