Very quick question, my DA9 Integra suffered a snapped radius rod yesterday.

Does anyone know whether they are side specific? Also, has anyone ever had the chance to compare Civic (EF I'm guessing) radius rods with Integra ones? I know the DA was the last integra to have them. I see why...

I'm looking at workshop manual diagrams but its hard to see anything which would make them specific to the left or right. Also, I can only find one part number on the Acura database for both rods.

I'm going to call my mechanic this morning and get one ordered so that I can fix it myself tonight and just want to know what I'm getting without actually being there to order it.

Thanks for any potential help!

When you say your mechanic do you mean a Honda dealer? If you talk to the guys in the spare parts department at a Honda dealer and give them your VIN they can call up exactly what parts are for your car. You can ask them if the radius rods are side specific or not and even get a price for one so you can compare even if you do get an aftermarket one. That's probably the best source to find out from. Just keep in mind that sometimes the cheap aftermarket one doesn't fit as perfectly as the genuine unit so you may not end up saving those few bucks after all.

Both sides are the same.
I still have a set here when I changed to adjustable ones.

Btw, how did they break? Were you driving hard?

Thanks chaps!

That side of the car had hit a large pothole last year, bending the lower control arm, and more than likely stressing the radius rod too. I suspect overstressing of the threaded section of the rod during repairs being a possible cause for failure too.

I was just driving normally when it let go, front left hand side dropped half an inch (i dont have many inches to spare) and the car veered to the left while the tyre made a mess of the inner guard.

Ah well, it means I've replaced almost everything under the front end now!

Stocky, where could one purchase these adjustable rods you mention?
