hey people, I noticed there is a b series results page, but I want to see some serious d series dyno results page, I know when I complete my engine (rebuild with 1.6 high compression 11:5cr and a good tune (crome) ill be posting up my dyno results cause there are allot of d series engines from the breeze up to the sohc vtec models., and now that parts are available to work these engines pretty easily, we should all post our d series dyno/track quarter mile results here., p.s. moderators make sticky for future comparing.
ppl don't forget to post your mods as well, like my Honda city 92 vtec(civic engine, crx p29 zc pistons, d15b vtec head, d16y8 block, compression to 11.5, 1.5 mm head gasket.,adjustable cam gear, extractors, throttle body, crome program datalogger modified ecu, 2in exhaust all the way with high flow cat/muffler. etc, when I get it running again, was previously running 15 cr, almost blew the engine, pinging crazy (detonation).
I’m expecting anywhere between 115kw at the engine to 130kw. Factory engine makes 100kw with factory airfilter/exhaust/ecu/9.1cr so I should easily climb the latter.

soon ill have my dyno up. in the mean time, here below is someones elses that has done pretty much what ive done, excepting the msd unit. and made 154hp at the wheels! incase most people don't understand this. thats 114.9 kw @ the wheels, now goto the b16a dyno page, most havnt hit that type of power. and yet we are talking about a d16y8. not a b16a/b18c. so be proud fellow honda owners.

It’s a new theory I wanted to try, its called invisible cam timing, the engine just imagines running the best possible power :p

For the amount of money put into a d-series u can extract more power if you put the same amount into a b-series unless your loaded and want to try something new.
Thats why you see most people these days go directly for an engine conversion.

lol, thats not true, first of all anyone that goes and spend 3000 just for a extra 30 hp is a ripoff. sure b series are great engines but the prices are just way to over rated. also its twincam, which means two cams two cam gears, that means you go and get a crower cam, you need two, twice the money, now d series engines, well u wack together a sohc vtec head, (ones going on ebay for 150) with any d series block, and put some zc p29 pistons in, you bump your compression ratio up to 11, and thats more bang for your buck since by now your making the same power as a b series. and your trying to justify spending $xxxx thousands to make the same power if not alittle better., :D :D :D

this isnt about $ per KW , this is about D series engines and "all motor" setups.

true, that is the point of this post, but some people get carryed away, look people,. i just wanted a d series dyno page. cause there are alot of d seres lovers out there with there setups, so give the d series a chance and lets see some results.
yep, would be good to see some D-series NA figures, there was a recent dyno day up here, some guys with D-series should be able to post their dyno graph

So what am I wasting my time doing a D series N/A setup.

you seem fanatical about sohc engines. thats good 'cos it shows you know what you're talking about.

Dude I think what your doing is great but that dyno sheet is a US one and uncorrected so the power figure is anyones guess as they read 12.5 to 21% higher than our aussie dyno's.What cam will you be using in your setup as mine will be using a custom ground Rocket motorsport grind and I have a ported Y8 head I did and I have the same pistons as you.

slightly off topic, but roughly, what sort of results would you expect from ITB's on a non-vtec ZC motor?

Hey man, don't get me wroing here, that figure is impressive, the H.P is anyway, what you are forgetting is that a stock B16A will be pulling out around 30 - 50% more torque than that... i would be interested to see your car go down the quarter mile against a simalar car with a B swap done!

Sorry, my mistake, just realised that the dyno is in ft lbs, not nm... good effort if you ask me!! :p
