get 4 to 10 to 7 to 5 to 9 to 1, extra long for good response thruout the rev range

4-2-1 for power across the range

4-1 for top end power

as I understand it

hmm can u explain how big the primaries, secondaries, tertiarary collectors would give me most power ?

one of the best bang for buck headers for b16a is the 4-1 extractors from the JDM DC2R.

although *generally* speaking, 4-1 is more for top end, and 4-2-1 is more for mid range, it really depends on the design of the header.

Some other extractors that I have tried at the 4-2-1 extractors from Dave flood (Dyno Dave). They have really short secondaries, so are more like a 4-1. Excellent extractors, but quite expensive.

Hope that helps.

Dynodave made a post that contradicts this.

Search people.

Look up "The Great Header Test" ...Toda header comes first in peak power... JDM ITR header also bang for bucks..

4-2-1 are the only way to go and the new generation headers coming from more research and development make power from idle to max RPM.But having said that the JDM 4-1 Type-R headers are very good and hard to beat for 90% of B series powered engines in street cars.

theres no such thing as BEST. Choosing a header depends on your power goals and your car usage.
It would also help if you mentioned what your setup is.

Yes and thats what i did. Only my headers were similar to the 98 spec but custom made for better gains.

please refer to my post.

is the header the size throughout the D series. Im running a D13 (breeze), is my header the same as the rest of the D series or is there a specific size. If there is, then what size header is for a D13? Thanks
