Ive also found this.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Set-of-4-ADVAN-RS-White-Styling-18-5x114-3-Alloy-Sport-Rims-Mags-Wheels-WRX-Evo-/271132219575?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f20bd58b7
But Im pretty sure they're fake.
Which brings me to my next question, how can I tell if the rims on ebay or the used ones Im interested in are genuine or fake?

If its too good to be true on ebay, 99% of the time it is. And anything with "styling" or "style" in the title is a giveaway that its a fake/rep eg. advan rs styling, bbs lm styling, te37 styling

You just gotta do your research i guess. I wanted advans RS a while back. I asked an Australian distributor and they quoted me $806 per wheel.

Forget about all those well marketed aluminum lightweight lug nuts. Buy steel - they're stronger and won't seize or thread as easily.
Dat weight saving means nothing when the cheeseburger you just ate weights more than the weight saving.

They can expand when heated up. I know a few people were the wheel came off as they're driving
and the nuts wernt broken or anything. They just came off on their own

A lip that is specifically designed to fit the facelift front bumper shouldn't technically cause any headaches. The Type R lip will cause a few headaches guarenteed.

To warm up the thread, as I told before, my friend is odrering a set of TE37. They will be arrived in this week. Te37, are they worthy to wait more than 8 weeks?
As I've been told, 1 of the best set up are 215/40/17 tyres all round. Can we run these set up on stock suspension without any issues?

Tighten the fronts by lifting the spring perch and you can get the rears reset by a shop. Not sure If that makes them stiffer, I know they can compress them

Ok, Im confused. I got some Advan RS wheels and I need new slimmer lugs so I can fit a wrench w/o damaging the wheel. If that makes sense.
Anyways, Im reading that our stock lugs are an acorn design and lugs that I have to get for my Advans are tapered. The confusion is, some sites are saying tapered=acorn and others are saying tapered =/= acorn. =_= So which is it? O.o
and how do I know what socket I need for each different design lug? E.g I need 19 for stock nuts but Im looking for a smaller nut so I can use a smaller socket, but the companies never mention this specification. Is there something Im missing, like 2 standardised sizes for lugs?
and PS: Im ordering http://www.jdmconcept.com.au/part/work/rs-z-billet-nuts to fit the Advans on my civic. am I right for the sizing?
EKVTIR-T
08-07-2013, 01:54 AM
taper is taper and acorn acorn, theyre not same..
aftermarket rims use taper mostly and oem honda use acorn
if your lug holes are tight you could use this style so you cant damage your wheels from tool

Harry, neer use OEM lugs with aftermarket wheels
OEM honda wheels are ball seated and aftermarket wheels are conical
http://site.brandsport.com/exterior/wheels/acorn-mag-ball-seats.jpg
do NOT mix them or you'll get a localised crushing failure and your nuts will come off.
Also dude, i'll show you my nuts next time,
And i'll show you my lug nuts too. i got extended lugs and they're awesome for your purposes.

Lol, yeh, I figured that. Just got confused as what I read had OEM Honda lugs labeled as Acorn when the proper label is Ball seat.
I was eyeing on extended or spline. Was really leaning to those But was contemplating getting ones with locks.
Im pretty sure you're rocking these

I havent heard of any cases of people jacking wheels here in perth. So I dunno if it's worth the investment. My car is parked outside most of the time and I take the train to TAFE. But I dont think they'd have the time to jack my wheels. lol. They're 2nd hand Advans and not like VS or BBS's.
Curtis, I wanna try and get them ordered within the next few days as my target is to get my new wheels on my car before the next PHC meet.

Keep it going, narrow minded people,
Yes i feel very lucky indeed to own a car that is so exclusive here in AU lucky enough to have imported the car in the first place. It took a lot of saving to purchase the car and determination to import it as customs wouldn't tell me what it would cost on import duties and taxes never mind shipping but I made up my mind at whatever it cost it was coming with me. One or two people have made the same commitment as me.
just think you can buy most cars here in AU ford ST holden SS nissan GTR Toyota 86 honda FN2 but FD2 R sorry cant do you can buy any Ferrari mclaren porsche lambo audi you name it but a FD2 type R NO!!!! Japan keeps the best for the domestic market.

I used to have the Type S rims but i didn't like them. 2 Reasons..
1) They're 16" so it looks tiny
2) They don't clear the brakes on FD's. I had to get 5mm spacers to run them properly

+100000 I destroyed 4 lips I think
I'd don't mind scraping my lips. I'd prefer to scrap some little piece of plastic than my OEM front bar.
Just in case I want to sell it in the future.
Yo guys doing a full part out so if anyones interested in some of my stuff, let me know :) - got exhaust, intake, strut bars, camber arms/ bolts etc. Ill put the official for sale thread up after Saturday. Airbags and lip kit already sold.
How much for Rear Camber Arm?
Also interested in the Intake if its for the K20 model

R series or K series? Harder mounts would be my recommendation, purely because I've read negative comments about torque dampeners

Unless if you got the 62a hasport, I think the boombas we have/had are rated around 72~82
Or window weld the stock mounts

K series, yeh dampers wear out aye, but around 150$ surely it's worth it? Or just screw it and drive it stock? Not like there's heaps of torque anyway,
Window weld the mounts, might Suss that out.

About to pour some dough into an Injen CAI. I believe the location would be right behind the foglights, so that's pretty well covered from water. I do know there's been times of heavy rain, and water builds up at the kerb, and I've driven over them in the past, kicking up a wave of water. Now will that sort of water reach the CAI and cause hydrolock? Or does it have to be completely submerged to cause?

Buy a hydroshield and you'll be fine, its in a position where you won't hydro lock unless you're trying really hard to.
Don't buy it from JDMyard as well, they'll rip you off lmao.

Fit's without modifications in our cars?
Also, noob question, CAI's the filters, do they need to be replaced/cleaned regularly? I prefer the non-oil filters.

Sit behind the splash guard so should be alright. Otherwise get a hydroshield or make up some type of shield for it. And yeh fits without any mods, I'm just gonna replace some of the hoses for better ones though
