B18c5 into ek1 Brackets????

guys i've searched up on this but all the threads in honda tech etc etc is for the us and some of the reference sites is even obselete, so im wondering before i head out and start to buy brackets i got a few more questions which brackets i need to put the b18cR into my 1998 ek1 which has a d series :D

1) front transmission bracket ? i know which bracket it is but im not sure if this is what is called

2) rear transmission/engine bracket??? need help on this

3) a/c bracket is it a myth or truth that i can retain my d series a/c ompressor and in which case i will need a 92-95 delsol bracket to retain that? if not just a ek4 a/c bracket will do if i use a b series a/c compressor?

4) left hand side engine bracket (the bit underneath the cams)

if you know the correct honda part name for those and the item number would be even better :thumbsup::thumbsup:

i will correct you - and state that the B18c5 is the US type R motor. You will NOT find it here in OZ. You refer to the B18c , B18c2 or B18c7 which is found here locally.

You need to find EK4 side mounts and rear engine mounts / bracket.
Just go to a wrecker and ask for "all 5 EK4
engine mounts"

ok yeah i forgot 18c5 is american lol it should be cR but do i need all 5? i thought i only needed 3 :( and also mounts are the same.... only the brackets are different i dont need ek4 mounts but the brackets issin it???

everything has to be used fro the B18c engine mounts (brackets) gearbox ECU etc

1) front transmission bracket ? i know which bracket it is but im not sure if this is what is called You can use your B18c one, just use the D series torque mount, i tink the b18c torque mount will fit also. Just try and see if the b18c one fits.

2) rear transmission/engine bracket??? need help on this You need to get a EK4/EK9 one. There $140 odd at honda brand new, comes with new bolts and washers.

Myth, cannot use D series items on B unless its gonna be customise. Any B series bracket would do. Again take your old D series torque mount and put it on the B series A/c bracket.

4) left hand side engine bracket (the bit underneath the cams) Yes you need to change that to a B16a one. Early model EG6 fits also Ek4 ones.

u can use all mounts from your ek ........no need to go find new mounts

thanks guys fatboyz i'll call u tomorrow need to ask you questions about the stuff u have :thumbsup::thumbsup: and yeah thanks JDM type r i know the mounts can be used its just the brackets i wasnt sure which one i think i'll just get the lot and see how it goes
