Hey Guys

I'm looking to add LSD to my D16...

I've been looking at the OBX LSD but don't know anyway that's tried them..

Any good and what ells is needed?

What bearings size is used the D16Y1 gear box?

This is the model I'm looking at

Do a search on d-series.org for 'OBX' and user 'Transzex'.
Probably add 'B oil ring' and 'shim' to refine the search a bit.

There's a LOT of chatter on the forum regards this unit. But definitely do-able.

I stopped looking at these when USPS dropped surface shipping and the cost jumped too high.

No idea.

The magic numbers are 35mm ID, 72mm OD non-D16Y8. 40mm ID, 80mm OD D16y8 box.

I guess its possible to use a thinner 40mm ID bearing and a shim/sleeve to space it out to 72mm OD if you've got access to a lathe.

Apart from the sizes, there's nothing special about the bearings.

Nick.

Hey Nick

Yeah if read a few thing Transzex has posted before on d-series

And on the OBX but I'm still a bit confused

surely by now someone could be making and selling them to make the OBX a fast bolt-on?

i've spoken to Leo & another forum member and they reckon they are pretty good. They have not had any issues with it. Leo races his car also in comps.

I'm gonna ask Toda to install it for me prob if i get one. But projects might all be on hold now cos i'm buying a house

P.S ETA on car is this weekend!
