Boot/Trunk Lock Problem (DC2R)

Hi,

Yesterday I was going to put stuff in my boot and used my key.

When i turned it (clockwise) it had a bit more resistance then usual and I put a bit more pressure and heard a bit of a metal clink. It then went all 'loose'.

As in...when you turn the key there is no resistence at all. As you guessed it - the boot now doesnt open via key.

Key wasnt damaged that I could see and car starts fine.

Boot still opens as normal from the inside (the lever thing under driver side seat).

Anyone have any ideas?

there a lach that connects to the key barrel feel off. remove the plastic strip and u will see the key barrel..

are you referring to the plastic ring around the barrel? and I assume I'll just have to link the latch back to the barrel?
