I don't think it could be the relay i hard wired the pump in so i could get around the alarm that was stopping it from pumping (my last problem) and i noticed today i pulled a plug out and had no spark???

Possibly the 'ignitor' (aka ICM), or perhaps the coil. If you find it's the ignitor then also check your plug lead resistance. High resistance in the leads can kill the ignitor, so you fit a new ignitor and it too dies in a few weeks (happened to me). At some point the ignitor will die completely, assuming it is the ignitor.

Try the fuel filter

in the distributor? the thing that your leads are connected to =]

its not adumb Q as hondas are different from other cars as they usually have the coil outside.
For hondas its inside the distributor itself.

I noticed one of the ends of the leads just before the spark plug has a crack could this maybe wrecked the ignitor or coil if it was arcing out on the tap cover?

Are you getting spark at all?

Can you hear the fuel pump prime the fuel rail when you switch the key to IGNITION?

Sounds like the Ignition Control Module (ICM) or coil, both are inside the distributor. This just happened to me.I only found it was the ICM by replacing it.We basically eliminated everything else first.

Yes i can hear the pump prime the fuel rail but there is no spark when the engine dies after half hour or so it starts

Can i replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) or coil without having to buy another complete distributor?

Well I thought U had to buy the whole dizzy and I did at a wrecker $330 but I since found out you can buy them at a fuel injection specialist. That's all I know...

Good to hear mate!

Don't forget to check your lead resistance, or you may fry your new ignition parts. High lead resistance causes the ignitor (and probably the coil?) to run hotter and fail. Happned to my new ignitor, i.e. new ignitor lasted only a few weeks.

even thou you have hard wired the fuel pump you should still check the main pgmfi relay. its called the PGMFI relay coz it power the ecu as well as the pump,

Hey yeah replaced the leads, and sparkies not sure how to test the lead resistance but should be ok with them replaced yeah?
Where do i find the pgmfi relay? I had to hard wire the fuel pump cause the alarm i think was stopping it from working i used to have to turn the alarm on and off a few times till i could hear the fuel rail filling once hard wired it seem to be fine.

Easy way to test the igniter output....turn the motor over using the key...if the tacho moves, then its not the igniter,if tacho looks dead then its more than likely the igniter..
