selling a car

don't know if should be here or noob forum but. was looking for some things, but couldn't find it on this site, wondering, whats involved in selling your car

get the ad done
open it up for inspection..

and when someone comes and gives u money, what paper work needs to be filled out??

You Need RWC but not if you are selling the car without RWC... and also Transfer paper work...

that's if you are in Vic.... but i am pretty sure its the same in other states...

I didn't think u needed RWC.
Some cars don't come with RWC.
But makes car easier to sell if it does come with RWC

i think i nsw all you need is to fill in the transfer slip (back of your rego papaer, the piece of paper the rego sticker was attached to.) buyer signs it you sign and give them the form when you get the cash, remember to keep the notice of disposal part that post it to rta (bottom part of form) check all details lic numbers etc. most importantly do it with some mates around, to many little theivin bastards out these days

In nsw you give a reciept for the money paid, fill out the back of your rego papers to say date sold, how much and who to, a pink slip isnt mandatory but it helps put the buyers mind at rest to show the car is roadworthy. keep the little notice of disposal slip on the top of your rego papers and drop it into the rta asap so if any fines occur after the sale you have proof it has been sold. thats it... simple :)
