hey guyz..tried searching but couldn't really find what i wus lookin for

wanted to know...until what point do i STOP making power with the 4>2>1 headers and respect to the 4>1 headers

also

what do i START making more power in the 4>1 headers...as in what rpm range ??

its for my D16a8/ZC civic.

This was discussed somewhere else and it all depends on the design of the headers. The conclusion was that a well designed set of 4-2-1 headers will perform as well as 4-1 headers.

all depends on the engine. i believe you drivin si? if so 4-2-1 would prob be better as they focus on all round torque/power. the d16a8/zc has a more spread out power curve as opposed to b16 which have power mainly up high. 4-1 would prob give some slight advantage up near redline but at the cost of bottom/midrange. 4-2-1 would prob take better advantage of engine characteristics..... however, a good set of 4-1 shouldnt see too much loss down low ie: gains above 3k rpm. all in theory anyway.only one way to be sure

I agree with sivic, 4-1s you will see sufficiant powerloss down low.
I experienced this when my mate removed my muffler, power down low was compromized but top end experienced some increases in top end.

I currently have 4-2-1s and I find them fine, but i cant really compare them to anything because i never had the chance to experience stock manifold.

I beleive unless your constantly in vtec I dont see the advatage of a 4-1 header on cars like mine which are daily drivers 95% of the time.
After my muffler was bolted back on, I guess its the back pressure (prepares to be flamed http://members.optusnet.com.au/%7Eakaisen/personal/emb.jpg) but the car was much better down low cuz thats where i drive it around the streets and more enjoyable to drive again.

IMO for a b16a only constant track use would warrent the need of 4>1s

But like everone else has said it does depend on the brand and engine... but anyway my 2 cents

I got hurracaine 4-2-1s and noticed hardly any difference in the top end. It revved out smoother from around 4.5K to redline but thats about it.

What headers are they geoff?
