wheel jerking and bumpy suspension

hey guys, as some of you may know i recently bought the new cu2 09 accord euro.

ive only had it for 2 weeks but ive noticed some uncomfortably wierd things with the car.

the main thing is that the steering wheel occaisionally jerks to one direction while im driving. usually at lower speeds of around 20km or lower. i figured this may be just the wheel trying to realign itself after ive just turned. however even at slightly higher speeds up to 60kms, sometimes i feel a very heavy resistance while im driving straight for a long time, where its like almost forcing my steering wheel to turn off onto oncoming traffic!

its like a ghost grabbed the wheel while i was driving and steered it left or right! :S scary.

it doesnt happen too often, and i can live with it cause after i realign the car, its ok and doensthappen again.

i was just wondering if this was normal, as in im just feeling resistance from the tires realigning, i mite have driven onto unlevel road etc? or i should get it checked.

my other issue is taht, last thursday i was in a westfield car park turning left up onto a ramp to go to another level. and some oaf was standing in the middle of the lane. in an attempt to avoid crushing his pathetic existence, i turned a bit hard (mind u i was moving at snails pace) and the back left wheel drove onto one of the side kerb thingys. however it only went on slightly. by slightly i mean it was high up enough to elevate the car, but was VERY close to the edge and eventually quickly just slid off the face of the kerb. basically i grinded down and scraped the side of my brand spanking new rims.

thankfully it was only very minor. but what im worried about is that when the tire slid off, i swear to god i felt the car shift rightwards, (cause it slid off in a rightwards direction obviously).

now that may sound normal, but if u think about it carefully, technically half the weight of the car was applying pressure to that one tire/axle and forced it to slid down the face of a kerb, with enough force to jerk the backend of a practically non moving 1 ton vehicle about 10 cm right. that cant be too good for the tire right?

upon inspection i cant see any noticeable problems with the alignment but i SWEAR TO GOD even if im driving on perfectly flat smooth road. i can feel the backend of my car bumping up and down.

is the wheel damaged, should i get it checked? or am i being overly sensitive cause its a brand new car?

your thoughts would be appreciated.

check for a leak in your tyres if you damage them. A car pulling to the side may be out of aligntment (doubt it for a new car), Low pressure on one of the wheels dragging you across into the other line.. No other ideas.
2 weeks left until your free 1month service, ask them to check all of it out.

sounds like tram-lining, check your tire pressure and then get a wheel alignment second to see if goes away but if your going in for your 1 month service tell them about it they'll fix it.

Problem no.1.Sounds like the electric steering.Other CU2 owners here had the same or similar problem.It seems to improve(or you get used to it)over time.Bear in mind i have a CL9 so my opinion is based on feed back from other CU2 owners.
No.2.First have the rear wheel that was scratched run up on a wheel balancer and see it's out of balance or damaged due to you hitting the kerb.If all is good then get a 4 wheel alignment to check it's all within spec.Forgot to mention check tyre pressures on all 4 wheels.

check lugs

check tyre pressure

get wheel rebalanced

get alignment done

else it's tramlining

hmm speaking of the tyres preasure and all... since you are looking for some mod, maybe consider using I-TCMS from mugen?

Note on the topic, I also feel my steering wheel is not facing straight when I drive on a straight line. but didnt notice about it going sideways after a while though...

Electric steering for sure. Heavy steering when going slow.

hmm this may be a REALLY dumb question
but

when i go reinflate the tyres/check the pressure, what pressure should it be? i was at the gas station today, refilling and was about to do the tires, when i realised i have no idea how much pressure is correct. (speaking of refilling, today i finished the first full tank of petrol. i recorded exactly how much kms driven for the full tank, give or take 2 litres and it worked out pretty much close to exactly as advertised! 8.9l/100km!! even tho the dashboard says 10.1L/100kms. god this is a great car)

but from what u guys say it sounds about right, it could be the electric steering. less so the alignment. because it happened again today and i realised it was at the same strip of road as last time and this strip is a bit irregular. i think i drove into a mini pot hole and the electric steering didnt know what to do. other than that it did jerk a few other times, but seems to be getting better.

its good to know i can get them to check it all out during the free service.

quick question. during a "service" what things do they include/check?
its not just an oil change right? even tho it is the most important thing.

The 1,000km 1st service they just do a once over your car just to make sure nothing is loose,
and everything is ok. No oil change. The 'real' 1st service is at 10,000kms.

Inflate your tyres to 33psi front and back, or 35psi front and back for over 210km/h lol! :p
Thats what's on the sticker in the door says. Just go on personal preference.
I like mine on the harder side, as I travel on the highway every day. I run 35-36psi front and back.
If you wanted softer ride, I would run the 33psi as recommended.

I had similar feeling about my steering when my car was new. Don't notice it at all any more - I think was just a matter of getting used to the electric steering.

Yeah, it was a bit weird at first, seems kind of like force feedback wheel for playstation! :)
