yes!
can be done, seen it myself - done and done!
yes it would fit... but may stick out abit due to the slight diff offset...
Thanks for the answer guys!!!! :)
thumb up!
sure can...I have DC5 rims on my DC2R.... damn sexy

you'd need spacers in order to fit...
although its different offsets, the rim might sit a little in from the guards...
problem with the caliper clearance? really? i would have thought that there wouldnt be a prob due to the dc5r rim being a bigger diameter wheel.Quote:

Respectively it is as follows.
17 inches
PCD: 114.3mm
offset: The number of 60mm
holes: 5 holes
in using 5mm spacers front and rear on jap spec dc5r rims. but the fronts still scrub on full lock. i heard the aus spec dc5r rims are a diff offset and may clear a full lock.Quote:

i used to have dc5r wheels on my dc2r also. didnt need spacers.
no offence but stock dc2r rims look better. Except the white jdm's
yeah i sold them. i found that set for 200 with tread.. so im like might as well use up the tread and sell them again
Audm is +45 offset JDM is +60....you need 5-10mm spacer to clear for jdm....no spacer require for Audm rims....
I don't like them. LOL

this has been something that Ive heard very different versions of. Basically my AUDM dc5r rims on my dc2r didnt clear the front brake caliper and therefore I had to fit 3mm spacers on the front. Im not really sure how some people have avoided spacers, unless they have grinded back their caliper... I would like to know if anyone has done this......
ive added this photo so people are clear that im talking about audm rims.....

hey guy i wondering can DC5R rim fit on DC2R
(i mean offset )
does any pp done this b4?
cheers
i've seen a guy done it before...i guess it'll fit
its been done heaps of times. Try a search heaps will come up. Some people have issues with clearing the brake caliper so they used a 5mm spacers. However, others have fitted them without any modification
but i guess spacers are not that safe...unless u get a proper one
wtf is a proper spacer?
what is a proper spacer?
There is nothing wrong with running a 5mm spacer if the car is not going to be tracked.
if your taking about the AUDM 16" DC5R rims... yes they fit fine without modification.
so dc5 rims do not fit on dc2r due to differences in offset?
what is the offset of dc5 rims?
whati s the offset of dc2r rims?
HOLY CRAP... did someone just use the search option... DAMN!
http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...N/100_0035.jpg
no problems what so ever ive done it b4
back in the day lol
so whats the verdict?
can audm dc5 rims fit an dc2r without spacers? Yes or No?
do audm dc5 rims fit dc2r?
there's conflicting info!

half the ppl say it can do done without spacers, and the other half say you need spacers!!
thanks 90lan...but then why would marky53 have problems?
man, i really need to know for sure...becos im just about to do a 5 lug from ek9 onto my em1, and i want to put a set of dc5 wheels.if they dont fit, what a waste of time
cas i heard some news saying spacer can be illegal and dangerous.....someone had an accident before i think......i forgot which forum i saw...but definately if u get a shit one....will casue u ur life
spacers are bad because they leave less thread for you to bolt the nuts on
unless you get hubcentric ones which come with new studs, but branded ones cost an arm and a leg.
but all are illegal
i did a ek9 5 lug on eg with dc5 wheels fitted no problems
http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...N/100_0449.jpg
I've run 16mm spacers with longer studs on my car and there's no detriment whatsoever. It's when people put spacers on without longer studs or hubcentric bolt ons.
People have accidents all the time and blame certain components of the car. Alot of the time they're covering their ass. Don't believe everything you read on the interwebs. People tell stories.
i dont know who/what to believe
no, ive got spacers on the fronts to clear brake caliper..... and souperman, I have exactly the same question......
My friends car. Direct fit/No spacers needed. Confirmed it with him.

90lan
thank you for your input.
it just seems odd that some ppl like you, dl001, sir vtec, spoondc2r, votek, 45set, teggiboy claim it is ok without spacers,
yet others like marky53, monty itr, AH_Huh needed spacers...
here's a question.
DC5R rims vs DC5 rims. i know the dc5r is gunmetal colour, but are there any differences in offset, size, etc?
and i like your eg. fark, so clean
no spacers needed
http://i475.photobucket.com/albums/r...k/IMG_0029.jpg
no spacers here...very close fitment, but nothing to worry about
http://image-cache.boostcruising.com...4280434414.jpg
With regards to the slightly larger rim, as long as your profile matched the standard DC2 type r rolling diameter, would this keep the handling the same? i am looking to get a set of dc5 wheels for my dc2r but dont want a detrimental handling effect.
Thanks guys.
Lets settle this then......
When I fitted my dc5r rims on my dc2r the tyre place added 3mm spacers as they didnt THINK it cleared. Since then I have taken my spacers off and it clears the caliper (only just)..... Now my car is roadworthy again as spacers are illegal......

even if there is only a 1mm gap, its still fine.
The DC5 rims look a little too small for DC5s, but look awesome on the DC2Rs and EG pictured above.
Anyway, I have a set of Silver Enkei DC5 rims in the garage, if anyone is interested, PM me. lol..
cheers
:P
Just to confirm again, i just bought a set of DC5R rims and put them on my DC2R. They went on with no modifications. The front brake caliper is very very close to the rim spokes mind you, but they do not foul. I am currently fixing some gutter rash and spraying them gloss black, putting some enkie stickers on the spokes and getting new 205/50/16 tyres fitted so ill post some pics when they are all done. :)
nice keep us posted!
http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/5...entrecavl6.jpg
i did something similar, got 205/50/16 but powder coated the wheels instead of spraying them.....
I would suggest that you get 215/45/16 tyres instead. I feel that the 50 series raises that car a little too high, and I think that 45's may help it have a better stance...... Ive put a picture to give you an idea of what yours will look like... hope it helps........

Thanks mate. I did a tyre profile calculator and with the 50 profile it puts the overall specs within 2% of the original size. Ive unfortunately already ordered the tyres lol. But ill put the piccys up when they are done. I got the last coats of paint on last night and it looks like a nice gloss black. Ill get the stickers done today and well see how she goes lol. Wish me luck! Thanks for the pic.
The old and the new! Getting tyres fitted rite now.
cool.... the 50's seem appropriate for some people, whereas others might rather the 45's..... up to you at the end......
what are you going to do with your centre caps?? spray and stickers????
Yeah ill see how the 50's go for the time being. I sprayed over the center caps as they were grey with the honda logo on them.
I got some enkie stickers made yesterday (only small) so im putting the enkie logo on the center caps and the enkie text with the logo on one of the spokes.
They didnt fit the tyres yesteerday because they were very busy but today is the day so hopefully ill have some finalised pics of it on the weekend.
:)
