mine weeps from that side after a long drive ... only a couple of drops tho
jeesus its hard to change oil in a d-series. the bolt is so damn tight on. i havent even got that bolt off yet at the bottom, or is it me doing it wrong?

At the sump at the bottom, use an extension bar when all else fails :)
will d16z6 Inlet Manifold bolt onto a d16y1 motor, reason is i cant find Quads for a d16y1 but there is heaps for d16z6
all d series , BAR the D16a8/ZC have the same head stud pattern on inlet and outlet ( exhaust).Quote:

does anyone get that sorta like death grinding sound from their a/c compressor when the a/c is on and the car is idling? apparently its a common problem i heard

is it common if it only happens during idle? the sound goes away after 1000 rpm

If so,it's the timing belt tensioner bearing.The timing belt tension needs to be set.Here's Honda's solution:
1. Start the Engine and allow it to reach operating temperature ( Radiator Fans should come on twice )
2. Remove the upper timing belt cover
3. monitor the engine temperature. When the temp decreases to 58degC, rotate the crankshaft five or six turns counter clockwise.
4. Set No. 1 piston at TDC
5.When the engine temp decreaces to 55degC, loosen the timming belt adjusting bolt 180deg. Allow the tention of the timing belt to automaticlly reset the tentioner position.
6. Tighten the adjusting bolt.
7. After adjustment, retorque the crankshaft pulley bolt to 181 Nm
8. On compleating the procedure, start then engine and allow it to reach operating temperature. Confirm the noise has been eliminated. Should the noise still be exhibited the above procedure in its entirety is required to be repeated.
U can buy a digitor multimeter from jaycar for $30 that measures tempreture very accurately.Therefore U can do this yourself!
Note: U will need to remove the valve cover to get the upper timing belt cover off.I would remove the valve cover,take the upper timing belt cover off and replace the valve cover.After eliminating the noise,replace the upper timing belt cover

alot of guys in the states swap to the z6/y1 on other D16/D15's as a cheap upgrade

today, nearly ready to clean up the d a bit, waiting on a clutch and flywheel as I lol'd at the cost of one from the dealer, hell the fly on it's own was $400 and it had to come from the same warehouse as where I'm getting it from for less than $45... wish they'd pass on the ecconomy dollar value to the consumers, lol
Mini-me VTEC conversions are just BS, waste of time if you want power.
If you want fun + VTEC then sure go for it, but you may as well just get a D16Y1

AKMotorworks Andy is looking into running Neptune on my y4,seeing if it's possible,that is the best thing U can do.Even on stock engines there are good gains and increased drivability to be had.I'm really hoping it will work on the y4.Neptune looks TOPS!

Nah,as U know I love my auto benny and I'm not out to be the fastest out there.
I stuffed my left ankle from the first track day I went on,I spent all day in the bride vios 3 bucket seat at an wrong angle,angled forward.
After 8 hours in the chair my left ankle swells after I use it a bit,so a manual is out of the question..
I do love my auto!
