all good the Locksmith doesn't know how to operate a immobilizer.. i knew it he wouldn't give me the keys until i payed for them so i did got in the car and started it right in front of him..
Ohh Johno! Mate your instructions about getting the door trim off and getting into the Lock was pretty much spot on champ thanks heaps.. 2 screws then one after the handle is off to take the power window switches off then another two to get the inside of the door lose and make may way thru the bottom to take it off.. thanks heaps all sweet now..
as for intakes i thought the Gruppe M was the sh!t so thats why im saving up close to 900 to get one otherwise the injen would be better.. i guess the only ppl that would know is if they've owned both and test them out..
as for Hanny's they don't remap the comp go to Toda or J Racing.. if I get section 10 on march and still have my license i will check em out see what they say about getting some more potential out if the ep3..
btw Ive been seeing more dealers import the ep3.. there's a red and a black one on parra road.. no more black want it kept rare..
Hey guys tough question but is the rear number plate lights the same as the front parker lights ?
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
good question.. i need to know cause i want to change em..
guise the parker lights t10 fits rear lic plate lights ive tried them its still works for over a year now :)
lol...i've had undercover cops follow me like three times. from the parramatta/woodville rd intersection all the way home and they would always catch the car infront me and pull them over and not me. i swear i wasnt hooning my way back home!!
gonna go home and double check that my tyres are 245's...lol
I got T10s on my rear license plate. It's a bitch to get the lights out though...
did u guys push the plastic housing for the rear number plate light to the side and then pull off ?? or did u guys actually take the rear hatch door cover off to get through to the back ??
Okay, I was wrong and stupid to say my tyres were 245.
They are indeed 215/45/17.
*drops head in shame*
made the step into EP3 owner manhood and finally changed my mounts to hasports! i love my car so much more now lol <3
just got a service and new mounts for the car :)
i thought that'd fix the clicking/squeaking sound when i steer at really low speed but it hasnt, seems to have come back and be more frequent.
any ideas before i have another word with my mechanic?
try tigthening your lower control arm-to-subframe mounting points - 2 either side. These are supposed to be 98NM each 17mm bolt. I had strange noises on my RHS recently - these two bolts were loose ( literally finger tight) from a big pothole i hit a few weeks back. So i jacked up the car , tightened and voila.....fixed the problem !
if its a squeaking noise when u move ur steering wheel left and right, and the noise you could say it sounds like a dry peice of rubber being rubbed on a dry peice of glass then it most probably b your steering rack which is a common problem on the ep3. Ive had this issue aswell as many other ep3 owners. It can b fixed by just pulling back the rubber boot on ur steering rack and spraying lube inside to lubricate. Thats what my mechanic did almost 3 years ago and i havent had the problem since.
Steve, if you're still trying to get at those license plate lights, I just stumbled onto this thread. Has a DIY a few posts down from OP.

second set on oem mounts later.. i guess honda doesn't make cars to suit my fast and furious approach to the road lol
like nepolian said, big increases to vibration, but car feels so much alive to drive i guess. i enjoy it.. and the vibrations aren't as bad as the vibration from a broken mount.. so for me its like driving a new car HAHA =(
and nepolian, shiny mounts in a dirty bay = so rice
i drive my car every day.. i quite enjoy it the way it is! but to each thier own :)
feels like a massage? its a cheaper alternative to heated seats and massaging chairs in bmw's, mercs , lexus and audis
im waiting for a quote for js racing mounts...look like the nicer better built version of hardrace.
Also getting mugen suspension soon. Wait - not coilovers you say ? Im older than you lot and have a fat ass.
i've got mugen suspension(found out the day i rotated my tyres) and they feel pretty good once you get used to them and missus doesn't mind them either.
infact, the only person complaining about the suspension is my bastard of a friend who loves his evo and compares everything to it.
Fuubbar......what's so good about the EVO's suspension?
nahh...diff chick. this current one is cooler, she loves it when i vtec. lol
no idea, he says the civic is more bouncier. i juss told him the civic it 200kg lighter than his fat ass evo and the seats are more comfy. =)
yea, she's from unsw.
Its a japanese brand. They are meant to be the stock replace for hondas and toyotas.
I read somewhere that century makes the oem batteries for the jap cars so I got one.
Far out Grant. How many chicks have you been going through? What a stud!! =P
Anyway, What do we need to do to get rid of the 180kmh speed limiter?
I thought my engine blew last night when I suddenly had lost of power on the main straight of eastern creek.
Then I realise this thing is JDM and has a 180kmh limiter.
Century is quite good, they have high CCAs and normally 2 years warranty. I havent changed mine yet, i still have the JDM ones on.
Kpro/Haltec etc would help with the speed limit!
My car came with the HKS "Speed Limit Defencer" which is just added onto stock ECU to remove the speed limit!
I have a Kpro now, so no need for the HKS part. Anyone interested?
Hey everyone. I know you guys are the best to ask this. Thinking of going out for dinner for Korean BBQ tonight. Just want to know where is good? Thanks.
Charcoal Mine @ Nth Parra!
thats where we should go again!
far out spent to much time yesterday cleaning my wheels
how does everyone else keep them clean, mine are covered with brake dust again, a day after they are cleaned
No point spraying it matt black, wouldn't you rather a free gun metal coating?
After you clean the wheels use wheel protectant and usually lasts abit over a week in good weather non of this temperamental weather.
My endless is pretty good with dust....
blue wheels are very high maintainance :(
Hi all New here. Finally got my ep3 Friday after almost 3 months of waiting. I am over the moon, getting it registered tomorrow. Can't wait to go for a proper cruze as I only have a permit at the moment. Does any one know if there is any other ep3 owners here in Darwin?
Hi guys, just wondering will the HID ballast on pre-facelift EP3 fit the facelift EP3 headlights? THanks!!
Really?
Someone told me they dont and so I didn't bother pursuing for facelift headlights.
Thanks!
I failed the MVR pits because of my HID lights how do I get around it. I went to an auto lec. They reckon I'd should look into finding some second hand ADM headlights that might fit. They think it will be too hard, time consuming and may not work if we try to swap to normal globs. what should I do? Is there a forum section on this?
That's bullshit. My compliance guy swapped out my hid and replaced with normal heligen. It was quite easy to hook up. I remember it was only 2 wires run off from the plug that hook up to the HID ballast.
He kept my HID bits so I could return everything to OEM HID relatively easily.
Yes!!
Ok just went to the garage and managed to find the wiring and light bulbs I pulled out to put the HID back. I recall I took some pic on how they are connected to the plugs. Lete have a look later.
Really!! ok no worrys I guess my complacence guy should have done that too. Dodge bastard. I'll find a diff auto lec and get them to do that. Thanks heaps
Sweet I'll come back later for a look see cheers
Oops I just remember mine is facelift so the wiring is only for low beams. But let me find the pics so u can show your electrican for reference.
i have problem uploading pic. KIKNHRD please PM me with your email.
thanks
PM sent
We tried today to put the halogens in and disconnect the ballast. Due to only having one globe and high and low beam controlled by the sleave that moves back and forth. We could not get high and low working properly. looks like I may need to purchase a second had set of lights to put in so I can register it, then switch back. Does anyone know what lights would fit a preface lift ep3 (none HID)??
Depends on the clips that you have in there mate. You could just get H4 bulbs and then modify some pieces of wire to hold the bulb in.
Just got my Mugen front lip installed today, come home to park it in the garage and SCRAAAAPE - a huge chunk of paint is now missing. FML.
