Yeah, he wears a white racing suit and a white helmet.....
i just noticed everything you buy has a 3 in it phill.
I hope the next car will be a GT3..... lol
Just wondering if anyone has replaced their rear swaybar end links? If so what brand are your replacements?
Undid one of mine, which was really seized up... Got it about halfway undone, realised I didn't need to undo it. Then when re-tightening it I stripped the inner allen key bit!
Well gives me an excuse to change the end links and swaybar now...
Hey guys, im using ferodo ds2500's and they are starting to squeak really badly. Before they use to squeak about 10 percent of the time, but now its about 80%.
Its also worse when the car is warmer and about 10% of the time it gets louder than normal. Got any ideas on solving this problem?
I run them pads and they squeak when cold n hardly when warmed up. Mayb ur's are starting to get glazed by the sound of it. Try bedding them again n see what happens. But b4 going hard on the brakes b sure to check u got pad left, maybe u might b low on pad.

"Performance pads all have a tendency to squeal'.....like steeb sometimes :p
Thanks guys, il get it checked. Apparently the brakes were replaced around september last year but theres no evidence to prove this. I feel like switching to endless cos they cost the same and its a blue compound so less brake dust. However if i change it il lose all my street cred LOL.
Btw what was the bedding instructions for the ferodos? Whats the speed we have to go before we slam on the brakes?
clearly need to put some of that copper grease on steeb.
Vic what do you mean bedding instructions? they give you a sheet with quick instructions and also pads squeal so much, put some copper grease on it and that helped for a good 7000kms now the squealings back... any speed would do? took them out to wakie to do afew 360s and had to slam the brakes at 90 today and thankgod it saved my front end! great stopping power them ferodos with dba's
It depends on how cute Ferodo is and whether he/she is your type. For me if she is smokin hot, instructions would be a couple of dates, nice dinner, girley movie. That should get her in the mood. May take longer depends on the 'feel'.
Now, if your lucky enough to get to bed Ferodo and then she turns to you and say I love you and can't wait to have babies......that's when you slam on the brakes.
Now if Ferodo is anyway like the guy from Lord of the rings, the thought would never cross my mind and you'd have serious issues......please go ask Lukezen for advice!
Ferodos DS2500 are known to been noisy and dusty. That's the price for racing performance.
Not sure if you can still bed them in if you had them for that long.
Mines always been noisy, but driving in peak hour traffic on the m4 yesterday made the brakes sounded really weird. The brakes squeaked so loud that it sounded like a truck was doing it, this happen 3 times during the 1 hour trip. I think it was even louder than grants exhaust lol.
take my advice on the copper grease, top stuff and it really does stop the squeals for a good 5000kms
of hard driving.

Squeals are from the pads themselves - generally when pads are clamping below the working heat range the metallic fibres protude and rub against the discs.
Btw i have no idea why anyone here runs any aftermarket pads on the street - oem pads are silent dont eat your rotors and work 100% fine in all situations bar heavy track use.
needed street cred to catch up to steve.
Ben's right. OEM pads are good enough to be honest
I've used them for 3 track days and still got plenty of meat. Good enough to have fun but maybe not so much if you want the best braking performance and getting ultra fast lap times around Wakefield.
For street use, DS2500 isn't really put to good use. It's put to good use when it sees high temperatures on the track otherwise it's not that much better for street braking.
I use endless NS97 now. It's only a bit more expensive than OEM but cheaper than DS2500. Very low in dust and performs better than OEM. May not be as aggressive as DS2500 but this is because these are more for street use.
NS97 is awesome. together with Endless RF650 fluid there was no fade at all for an afternoon of trackday.
heya guys! i'm thinking of going for a group buy for the gruppe m intake from exposed. lemme know if ur interested!
back to topic:
currently using the OEM and i reckon they're good too. not much brake dust compared to the ferodos. But if i were to go trackday, i'd buy a set purely just for that and change back to the OEM once i'm done.
bronze or black wheels FTW. can't really tell the dust.
i never bothered to wash my bronze wheels lol
Lol. Nope. I'm happy with my pads.
Your car + $20k my way then we have a deal :)
^ didn't know a FL worth this much... did i sell it too cheap? lol
LMAO. Nah I'm just being a clown.
The car is priceless to me. :)
So how much did you pay for insurance?
$1479 :(
What do you guys think about having wider rims on the front for EP3?
i wouldve been paying 3.5k for comp... p platers are safe drivers too... you got the old twits who wait 5seconds before moving at green lights or them ****s who tail gate you.
Aaron dont go more than 8.5
Suck to be in NSW lol
hey guys, quick question someone wants to swap my thier 02 cw ep3r for my friends s2000?
the car has purple standard rims, anyone here own it? or used to own it?
not sure if its worth the swap, let me know what you think. thanks
I'm paying $1157, in melb though.
Full comp, through Shannons... 28 yrs young...
Depends on suburb too. I live in a dodgy area too. Have my younger bro on it too. He's turning 21.
Lol it turned out cheaper with my bro on it because my driving history is so bad.:(
Ah ok, I live in a dogy area also, and they still gave me a good price
All you dodgy people from dodgy areas :\
GUYS

Sounds like AHV73C Regarding the CW EP3 with purple wheels
Mine never came with the rubber strip. Hmmm..
yea....mine's half on half off. have to tuck it back in everytime it pops off and i keep forgetting to ask my mechanic to fix it.
Hey guys, what battery is everyone running? Mine's started leaking battery acid and has corroded the shit out of my battery tie down bar. :p
Looking for some rims atm. Found some evo 8 enkei 17x8 +38 with 235/45/17 tyres. From reading on a few forums people say you can run them on stock suspension if the tyres are 215/45/17.
What do I need to do to make the 235/45/17 tyres fit? I really prefer not to roll my guards. Do I only need to get a camber kit?
If I get coilovers (lower the car) will i definitely need to roll my guards?
Bit off topic but anyone know what ill get for getting caught 54kmph over on freeway?
I'm in Melbourne.
PepX you should get away with it on stock sussy. Tyres are only 20mm wider as a whole and rims will stick about 15mm ish . If lowered u may need a little camber but stll think u may get away with it. Why not use the 215's you have?
Btw....your speed will also increase as those Tyres are bigger.
On stock sussy, you will scrub the rear going over speedhumps and hard cornering, and it will obviously be worse if you have passengers in the back. Its easier to just roll the rear guards.
And if you're going to lower the car then you will definitely need to roll the guards.
EVO 8 wheels will look awesome especially if you painted them in black. and yes 215 would be the best size.
according to this Vic Roads FinesAndPenaltiesRegisterJune2010.pdf 8 demerit points, fine of $597... not sure if you'll get summond to go to court though, due to the tough "new hoon laws" YAY melbourne soon to get tougher, due to that stupid L plater carrying 9ppl in the car!
I'm currently running a 16x8 +38, 205/50/16... which sat pretty flush with the guards at stock height. Fronts stick out slightly more than the rear. No scrubbing, at stock height. Put in my coilovers recently, still no scrubbing. Not over low though, if I am to go lower... I will need to roll the rears, to keep camber at a respectable level.
With a 235, I'm pretty sure it will scrub on the rear lip, if not rolled. Also inner clearence to the rear swing arm might be an issue. I looked at mine recently and there's no much clearence there.
would be only a very mild stretch, below is a 205/45/17 on an 17x8, couldn't find any 215's listed.

I found a whole thread dedicated to EP3 with evo 8 enkei rims. http://www.civictype-r.co.uk/forum/v...?f=27&t=205779
I didn't end up getting the rims because I want some ultralight regamaster like perry :).
I just want to confirm coilovers such as Tein SS and Buddy Club N+ have camber plates which can adjust camber slightly?
What is the max negative camber good for daily driving and not have noticeable wear on the inner part of the tyre?
BC N+ dont have camber plates. 1-1.5 is max for road. Anymore and you'll start noticing camber wear.
Oh ok, I didn't really want BC N+ anyway feel a little harsh for sydney roads from riding in perry's car :P.
Are the BC Racing BR coilovers any good? http://www.bc-racing.com.au/br-series-coilovers.html
Oh btw nepolian did you end up having the dent out day?
Neoplian is right. Even my super street are more harsh than OEM. SS are supposedly the entry level coils. I can't imagine how monoflex feels like LMAO.
guys my mounts are in its early stages of cracking, driver and front. also driver side lca bushing do i just call up honda for a replacement but say its for a dc5r??
