Over the civic badly, just Cbf :/
I was looking at the tt, gs450h, 335i e90, possible choices for me :)
a stanced TT is soooooooooooooooooooo dope imo. love them.
rims and lows turn them from 40yo single milf cars into beasts!!
^ that fd2r was stacked like in the first month it was released lol
someone should do a complete interior swap.
why not a full swap lol
true.. fair call :]
ouchies, fd2r still one of a car that i would love to own one day!
still got HB4 HID ballast integerated left, anyone interesteD?

specs on the rpf1s duffy :)
need more offset?
and spacers at the front imo.
more pics duff man!!
yep they're weak. 17x8 +42 (i think) on rear and 17x7.5 +48 on front
only reason i got them, is coz they cost me $550.
The back is going a little lower and I will be fixing the offset
rolling shot from last night:

nice, what's next on the list of mods?
- new rims - BBS LM's or RS's or something with some more dish and better offset.
- front and rear under-braces to install
- amber side repeaters.
- fabricate rear strut tower bar.
- e throttle controller
- seats (recaro or similar)
There's always more to do :P

had my 180 there... but it was parked downstairs hiding....(it looks like a pos) but those fken wheels are mad as
Haha glad u like em. Wanna buy?
I need money I wanna buy a 180
FD's are dead. lol
If I could afford both id keep but.. xD Www
err.. wanna buy my bbs lms? lol
lol should buy my 180 gonna put it up for sale soon 95 model =D
Ad finally up for the BBS' ... i should probably put up my rear camber arms as well =\
keep em for a month lol, let me borrow for big meet for the day lawl
How much are new shocks guys? OEM/koni or whatever? My FD's rear passenger one is leaking oil... wtf only 35000kms
i have a set of stock shocks spare *wink*
front SPC camber bolts installed. maxed out have the enkei's rubbing on the coilovers.
options:
spacers?
wider offset rims?
or, shit camber?
Ingals camber kit?
Sent from samsung galaxy 10.1v
why are they maxed out for? ur wheel specs dont seem like they require much camber to fit.. the cheapest thing to do, if u wanna run the wheels ur on and have the camber is to get spacers. but ppl question the safety of using spacers on a car used as a daily.. even if they're a known brand. the best thing would be just to get some wheels with lower offset. perhaps some gold bbs lms? LOL!!
Back when I installed lowering springs, I found that the front had slight positive camber once lowered. After I installed the cuscos the issue didn't do away, and so I bought the camber bolts to get go neutral, if not a touch of negative camber on the front (1degree or so).
My wheels are 1.5fingers IN from the guards so they don't need the camber to fit no, but i like running with neg camber, makes more fun cornering, and looks better.
I have no problem with spacers, the problem i have is with Insurance, and if I have them on, the likelihood of them not paying out if i were to ever need to claim.
I have no coin at the moment, so as much as i want some bbs's (actually want the ccw's more), they're not in the price range at the moment.
Get spacers and if u get in an accident, ninja them off before the car gets assessed lol
yeah, but I've had one accident before, i was unconscious, and woke up and the car was in flames. Ninja'ing in flames is not for novices.
Wheel Specs?
17x7.5 +48
17x8 +42? i think
they're really weak..
7.5in +48 (From Stock = Inner 9mm Less - Outer 3mm More)
8in +42 (From Stock = Inner 10mm Less - Outer 16mm More)
Shouldnt be too bad, if anything just 3mm spacers
no waiz!! 25mm spacers y0! nah jkz, the car looks good anyway. nice and functional. the more u chase flush fitment, the greater the headaches
Went to take some photos, cos we were REAL bored. - enjoy

DID you just think marble green? yeah it is :D
every time I come back to this thread it seems to be about wheels, wheels, and wheels. fd's are dying if thats all we can mod! wheels n body kitz...n tow hooks...n stickerz...
^
nobody has the money to do something that will make the FD considerably faster... and even if they did have the money, it would cost more than just selling the car and buying an actual performance sports car.
i like the shape of the FD, but thats about it. until k series engines become as cheap as the b series motors, i dont think many people would want to spend the money on an FD. besides.. they're much heavier than previous civics.
True, but i think that the chassis of the fd is alot better than a ek or eg. Maybe one day the k20 or k24 will be cheaper lol
How much are we talking at putting a k240a into the civic. Liek 10 -15 yes? I will consider it in 12 months.
problem then is, after that i'd want a BBK too, and then it will never end.
Well depending on what you want out of the car - ie not performance and just looks then why not keep changing wheels? (if finances allow - why else would we see ballas like stich with over 10sets of epic wheels / car?)
I agree though they are dying.. Not much new blood these days which means - oldschoolers reinvent yourselves! aero get new coils n even lower offset wheels LOL
just appriciate people even contribute to this thread.
i'm thinking once I grad i'll put a frank k24/k20 in my fd
Tbh I love seeing any mods in this thread small or big. But I think as a community we need to man up and do some more performance modding! What ever prejudices you already have against our cars, i.e weight, slow engines etc...believe me when I tell you the r18 and z2 are pretty good platforms to improve upon. If you don't believe me just do a bit of research and you'll see countries like thailand and Malaysia with FDs showing off decent dyno numbers. And damn some of them look real nice too.
If I may interject.. The reason why you find more people in Thailand, Malaysia and Indo can do more extreme mods than we are is because the cost, specially labour cost, to do engine swap or any mods really is considerably cheaper than us here (A LOT). Suspension fitting Indo:$50 vs QLD:$250, Full bodykit paint job Indo: $200 vs QLD:1000 you see my point..
I would do more than what I have done to my FD if the manual labour cost is closer to those countries mentioned above..
Good point but considering how much people are forking out on wheels...up to 3k per set it's safe to say if they wanted to they could afford it. I'm not saying that goes for all of us but I see members here swapping wheels and suspension quicker than they go through toilet paper lol
Yeah just depends on what you want out of the chassis.. No performance for my car so just a couple quick exterior mods and that'll do til.
Then spend money on the next car to actually get some speed
the shape of an FD is almost perfect. imo. with good rims, tint and sussy = perfrect daily.
when i say FD's are dead im 99% of the time taking the piss. but this thread has slowed down heaps since i got on here. maybe its wankers like me killing it. lol.
ps. hows everyones fuel consumption going latley? for a while people were getting 10/100k + :O
I'm still getting around 8.5-9 per 100kms. Pretty awesome considering its not a hybrid and I fang it around ever corner.
Anyway I was just trying to point out that our cars pull up some sweet hp numbers (expensive or not). I'm slowly piecing my car together bit by bit to try to achieve atleast 130+ kw atws. I keep changing my mind on ways to go about it but short of going forced induction which I'd really like to do, in the meantime:
* 4-2-1 headers with hfc
* 2.25-2.5" exhaust piping
* rbc intake manifold or rrc whichever fits
* possibly a larger tb to go with the rbc
* tbs to go with the above two
* change SRI to CAI although I like how much fuel economy I'm getting with the SRI
* skunk2 stage 1 or 2 cams if I can afford them
and thats it for now
aesthetic mods I keep to a minimum because I drive 50km+ a day and the car always gets so dirty. I pick up so many dings from shopping mall parking and I definitely don't want to go lower than the stock ride height with the way I drive.
lead the way xenonkuraz and people will follow.
i think new car warranty on engine etc is a big deterrent..
i know it was one of the main reasons i didnt mod the engine.
and thats where most of my funding goes. its like having two mortgages.
i forgot to mention that I will be getting a new muffler too.
when the time comes i'd like to get the greddy kit with the t517z. my only concern is our ecu won't respond well to it and i'm looking for alternative options such as flashpro instead of using a piggyback
after some research I'm swaying more towards a k20a than a turbo kit.
Bolt on turbo's are headaches. especially seeing as the ones for america are made for american conditions, so they need to be retuned to work properly here. And with the lack of r18 support in australia, that would be hard.
Tere are quite a few reputable r18 turbo kits out there and I have read of some tuners working with them in Australia. Afaik there are 5 turbo FDs in aus. IMO the only two troubles you would run into are:
1. Difficulty tuning and
2. Due to a difference in placement of some engine parts their manifold won't fit in ours
After due deliberation and lengthy discussions with the mrs I may be able to place an order for the greddy or turbo specialties kit. Woot!!! But I have to let her buy a new jazz first...

i am in LOVE. only thing i would change is the wheels.
