new tail light tints
Hey guys, massive noob here, I have a fully stock 2010 FD1 VTi-L, and I want to get a nice sounding exhaust, I've seen a lot of people suggesting a J's Racing Exhaust, but from what I've read they aren't that loud, I want it to sound nice and fairly loud. If I could also get some suggestions on what else I should do to it it'd be good, I like the stock alloys so I don't want to change them just yet, but thanks in advance guys.

You only deserve an exhaust if you're baller.
Anyone using spacers?
What are your wheel specs?
don't know the exact offset since the lips are reversed.
Front: 17x8 +20 ish
Rear: 17x9 +25 ish.
Ok thanks :D
Hi guys, I have a few stuffs for honda FD for sale, but I can't post a new thread in "parts for sale". I dont know where to ask for help. Can anybody tell me what to do? Thanks
Alan I'm running 17x8 +35 and I'm scrubbing like a bitch already. But then again I've done no guard work. Picking up spacers next week too (:
just noticed that the abs is less sensitive using a lighter rims..
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/ozcity/fd1c.jpg
Hey fitme what are the rims ?
Works Cr Kai?
its forged dunlop direzza rsc 15.4lbs
edited for correct weight
Fitme I like ya optimism but I would think your 17x7, 17x8 rims ? actually weigh around 16lbs+ maybe even heavier yhan the EP3's. The 10lb rims once made are the 14x5.
hmm maybe my scale is off?..because the largest 17 direzza weigths around 19.58lbs(17x9)
and my one is 17x7..so maybe it will be between10-15lbs give and take...
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35...ezzaweight.jpg
using my scale...there is a 5-6lbs difference between EP3 and Dunlop
The old style scale certainly isn't accurate ! try weighing ya self first then pick up the rim, what does it read ?
Yeah, the scales won't measure correctly like that for some reason. Best way is like how Steve mentioned. Or just Google it.
the 17x9 weighs 19.5lbs according to dunlops website, yeah the scale doesnt measure the exact weight...but comparing it to the EP3 rims
it weighs less 5-6lbs
should have done this before, to get the nearest possible weight...Quote:

edit:
its 7kgs 17x7 (15.4lbs) according to their website
or check wheelweights.net
got it..its 15.4lbs...so ep3s are around 20lbs
Got roof racks xD
Hai all, i need some help.
So a reputable steering and suspension place took my coil-overs off today, after never adjusting them since putting them on.
When i got home today my g/f noticed a clicking/clunking sound happening when the car is even on a slow roll. With the steering wheel straight and even on full lock.
This never was the case when my car was on coils...
Now i know, from trolling these forums for 4-5 years.. that people with the FD civic had problems with the knuckle or something popping out when swapping coils..
Could this by any chance be the reason why its clicking.. i mean i drove home.. 30-40 kms fine.. no issues.
Anyone have any clues?
Thanks :)
giving the bmc carbon airbox a try.
anyone used one of these before?
ekdez so they only took the coilovers off ? they didn't pull the coils off the struts ? what other work did they do ? I'd be checking the top of the struts, make sure the 3 bolts are tight with no movement. You could grab a 14mm sockets and make sure they are tight.
Hey mate yeah, I should have stated that they only took the coilovers out and out the oem sus back in. I called the guy today and he said I could bring it back in for a look.. But that's 4 days away cos of the canberra day public holiday.. I said have you any idea's, and he said it may be the backing plate for the brake disk.. So I'll be checkin everything thus weekend haha thanks again :)
I recently got one of my engine mounts replaced coz it was gone and that was making the noise you described.
Apparently, our driver's side engine mount is known to cause troubles :/
Not sure if it is the same case, but I had a clunking sound before on my Odyssey front wheels and it was really obvious at slow speeds. Sounded like as if I had a nail stuck in the tires
Turned out to be a small stone stuck between the backing plate and the rotors. It dropped out when I removed my rims to have a look at the tires.
I had same issue, was the rotor shield, was warped/bent, check it out and let us know
In response to EKDEZ
around 3 months ago I had a small clicking noise on the left hand side. But sometimes it sounded like it was fron the drivers side. Either way it was annoying. Everytime I accelerated , stepped on the pedal I could notice it as the engine noise is low but when i sstep on it hard you can faintly here it. At first I was advised by hanny's robert that it was a stone caught as mentione aboved but after a week it was still there. Robert told me to thrash the car and stepped on the brake hard thats how u test if there is stones there apparently. I took it back and told him to check it out further realise my engine mounts were fudged. those damn hyrdaulic engine mounts are shit. costed me 250 for a second hand one left hand side.
Hope this helps.
The mounts are made of cheese.
Anyone have links to solid mounts?
Fixed the problem.. =) and for those who would like to know,
I jacked the car up and turned the wheel around.. i took a video of it but its like 32 megs :|
It sounded like something was falling vertically every time the wheel made it to a certain point.
So as soon as i took my wheel off a bolt fell out and rolled under my car..
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/865/img3110t.jpg
It was the one in the middle... I mean wtf.. If they took that off why wouldn't they tighten it up?
Anyhow.. i guess the sound has gone.. But i definitely will be calling them on Tuesday!
Just got some euro plates.
They actually look quite good on the FD but I should have bought a slim line for the front - it's massively long
The Hub nut?
Well as you can see, on the driveshaft spline there is a notch. This notch is so you can bend the end of the hub nut into the notch, so it does not come loose.
as you can see in the image below

My FD1 got some new Red socks today ! had food poisoning O/nite but I was pretty keen to get the new struts installed for a track day tmw.

hey im thinking about getting a cai or sri & j's racing exhuast but since i bought my car a few months ago so it has warrenty for another 3 years , is it worth doing the mods and void my warrenty?
Nah Eibach Prokit springs with Tokico HTS, they came already on the firmest setting and I gotta say they soak up the bumps instead of crashing like the stock ones did. Got a full day at Marulan tmw with a few mates, so I may play with the settings or not. Also threw on a Cusco FSB and a Tanabe Muffler I got off Pitiek ! Hopefully should get a bit of footage
looking forward to it man! :)
This is out of the blue, but does anyone know about the v lip for the Mugen lip kit? If so, where to buy?
Well it wasn't raining at Marulan this morning but the 11 inches of recent rain had water coming out of the ground still and running across parts of the track, so I pulled the pin. Ended up down the road at Wakefield and watched a few Porshe's. Will prob hit Wakefield on Wednesday if the sun comes up.
Steve are you interested in UltraRacing under-body braces? Or do you have them already?
I have a front and rear set that came from Timmie, just I'm too low to use them.
Also - 2nd question, the Whiteline bushings sold for the FD2 - are they compatible at all with the FD1?
lol ive got under body braces as well but i literally sea-saw over many speed humps and drive ways... and have been for the past 6 months. i just havent had the time to take them off unfortunately =[.
I put the front one on one night before an Old Pac drive, and i couldnt reverse over the hump in my driveway! Chewed up all the grass and was literally rooted.
My height rule is that if I can't make it in and out of my driveway at home, it's too low haha. I already lightly scrape my exhaust pipe everytime.
But yeah the braces are good if you want rigidity.
Lol I don't even use my driveway to access the garage... I use the lawn now --
