actually, how is the driver side skirt?
errr not sure mate, car got towed to Pickles Auctions. So just waiting to hear back. I wasn't really looking at the side skirts. It was in good condition before the fire so I would imagine it should still be fine.
shieetttt bad luck man.
def buy it back and resell for parts
those fire pics......shit go mate...
do you have any idea who did it,any enemys or..debts?
No idea mate, I can't think of anyone I have pissed off that much. I do run a car club JDM SA and people often get angry if we block or delete them but I don't think any of them would do it. It is a dog act.
See how much u can buy the car back if you want and part out the rest of the car I guess.
Looks like you were selling it so maybe an insurance pay out is better depending on how much its valued
Anyone run mugen engine mounts? not sure if worth the upgrade over OEM but dont wanna go hasport 62a all round as its pricey and vibey as fuk. heard hardrace is kind of inbetween but still firm enough for good feel
Have a few options, still deciding:
- Mugen 3pc + hasport 62a
- Mugen 3pc + innovative 60a
- Hardrace 5pc
Hardrace probably most cost effective at $465 from jdmyard
I have this but with a 70a. Rattles enough to be able t hear it most of the times, I think 62a and Mugen would be ideal for street car. I had run just Mugen set for about two years and could feel the difference in shifting but not rattles were not noticeable at all.
I had has port 62a, then wanted more so I changed the inserts to 70a. Acceleration is so much more responsive. Vibes wasn't too bad with the 62a, it's only more apparent when starting up, 70a had a bit more vibration. But with stiffer mounts you'll get more cabin noise or drone
If I can find hasport 62a rear for decent price might go for it. Where did you get yours from? its $170 on ebay for just the one mount
Dunno if this is normal or what, but when my cars fully warmed up and idling like at a traffic light, if i tap the accelerator lightly to rev around 1200 1500 rpm it would hang there for for about two seconds or a sec and a half, then dips slightly below the normal idle rpm and goes back to normal. could it be a bad or dirty IACV?
Try cleaning the TB and IACV
Hardrace gives a good feel and the vibration is pretty annoying but you get use to it.
AS LONG as you don't have anything loose.
I had a door trim clip snap and hang loose in my door and god it was so fkn irritating.
My advice, don't got Hardrace unless you're planning to track/drag your car, my nativity and immaturity made me believe that I was going to do I/H/E then TODA internals finished off with a K-pro and tune by next H-nats, didn't realize how expensive modding a K series is....
Hey guys, anyone have issues or isit common that the low fuel light comes on when it isn't low (like around 300k mark)? It comes on for a bit driving normal and on a flat road but once the cat sits for awhile it won't come on until after the 400+ mark, it foes t really bother me much but I'm curious to see if its common
Hehehe, I'm not after numbers, if I was then for sure boost it will be my choice.
I've done all my previous cars NA cause I love the sound, feel and the RPMs as it climbs beyond 9k lol
300na hp ep > 500hp turbo ep
dread angle what did u do to your ep3r engine wise?
Not an EP3R...
But my 4AG spun beyond 10k and put out an awesome ~230hp from 1.6L NA ITB, etc... =P
Full race setup with dry sump :)
more details, dont care if ep3 thread
lmzo I have a 4agze and sprinter box sitting in my shed, anyone want it haha
send pm hear too.
Actually just post list in spam
thank
Turbo or Supercharge will be around same cost...
Turbo more power though...
Reliability depending how far you want to go...
Is supercharging better in any way?
It sounds like you need to research into both Supercharger and Turbocharger to learn the basic characteristics and requirements.
Supercharger Basic:
- Superchargers offer linear and immediately usable boost [Roots + Screw].
- Superchargers are driven off your engine's crankshaft. This means that they will decrease your engine's ability to output power because of parasitic loss. Unlike a turbo which runs off your engine's exhaust gas.
- Superchargers tend to be heavier [Roots + Screw] and output less to a comparative Turbo [All].
- Superchargers also tend to emit a whining noise [Usually depends on type] which to some is pleasant and to others a pain in the ear.
Superchargers have 3 types:
- Roots-Type - Typically least efficient of the 3, Roots-Type Superchargers force air into the engine in more burst than a continuous flow due to its design. It does however offer instant boost ie does not have the 'lag' associated with Centrifugal Superchargers or Turbos.
- Screw-Type [Rotary-Type] - The Screw-Type can be considered an evolution of the Roots-Type by design as the internals are designed to pump air more efficiently and consistently HOWEVER cost more and create a lot more noise comparably. It also does offer instant boost.
- Centrifugal-Type - Centrifugal-Type is constructed a little more its behaviour is more like a Turbo in design and therefore in characteristic too ie doesn't provide usable amount of boost immediately.
Check out Google, Jackson Racing, Eaton, Vortech, CAPA, etc for more info on Superchargers.
Check out Google, Garrett [Honeywell] for more info on Turbochargers :)
Also the torque characteristics are different between the root/screw type vs centrifugal vs turbo. This is something else you need to take into consideration when deciding what you want.
Also in regards to turbos, make sure to research twin scroll and variable vane turbo set ups. This is where turbos become very flexible and can have very quick spool times with gigantic horsepower figures
Anyone here willing to swap softer mounts for my Innovative 75a mounts?
this one cheap man

nah bro electric superchargers are the new thing

Once installed, every time you press your gas pedal past 50% pressure, the 31,000 RPM motor in the intake will breathe 3.5 POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH (PSI) of super high pressure air into your engine. With the amazing burst of super pressurized air comes a nice racing sound which lets the entire competition know what to expect. Double the horsepower output of ANY normal air intake system - DYNO guaranteed.
supercharge around the track, turbo on the strip imo. Imagine going around a bend and then boost kicks in :O i do love the sound of a supercharger whine tho and plan to get mine when i get the coin, if i keep the car long enough that is
I've only looked into the Jackson Racing kit and seem em around the 4kish mark D: includes a kpro too. They have a 6psi and a 9psi kit i think..
haha im stil learning about turbos lol, i just know that when sitting in my mates evo... dat feel when boost kicks in>vtec
what's the rough price range for a facelift ep3 civic nowadays?
Here is one for sale

Long time member, never really a poster haha.. Don't know anything about the Honda scene as ive always been a turbo owner.
Have had my fair share of Japanese imports.. Recently sold my HY34 Gloria and decided to make the step towards a Honda as ive never owned 1 and wouldnt mind something with a little more go to the VIP Cruiser before and after everything i was seeing in Japan and have driven got myself an EP3.

Yeah its a big change, but i have this disease where i have to keep changing cars to really experience things.. So even if i loose money i want to really try all variations of cars... My car im building is an S14 with a built SR20 so thats my 'exitement' and money pit should go about 350rwkw... Ive been putting off Hondas and wanted an S2K but then i drove another EP3 that we imported and i was hooked for its price!
You can only get 1 engine combination in a Y34 into Australia and thats the V30DET although i know my importer is going to be doing a RB25 model test car so they may be more popular on the roads once thats all done :)
Yeah alot of my friends wanted me to go all out on it, but i just enjoy my daily cars stock.. Which is what lured me to the EP3R as out of the box its enough for me the S2K factory looks rather boring and needs wheels, suspension, body kit etc... , Ive been to Japan about 4times now and im back in November so have seen alot of different scenes, wish you could do them in aus without defects :(
SR20 with 350rwkw... o.O GT35+? Monster Lag?
Ahhh icic, I thought the VQ30DD 'might' make it but I guess not powerful or unique/environmental enough...
Hahaha, but even in Japan now they're slowly cranking it up too unfortunately :( I know one of my friends with a crazy Bippu lost his license and car I believe impounded -_-
Ahh nah just TD06 20G, with full built engine and E85.. Very doable just need to stretch it out.. Its mainly a chase for big revs and power with a responsive graph over the chase for a dyno figure!
Well id say the DD would make it also, but it also comes down to test cars.. So most likely the 1st Y34 that was brought into aus was chosen to be turbo cause it will sell easier than non turbo atleast.
Yeahhh thats true, i know a friend has his slash plate taken off him and had to go the office to sort it out cause he was coming back from a drift day and the car was railed and the skirts were sometimes hitting the ground =[
Still they do have alot more flexability and police are generally nice enough to understand if the car is 'safe' then however it looks is fine.. I still think cut and shut suspension arms to achieve -20 camber is a bit crazy..
Hey Guys ran my EP3 down the drags lastnight, got some gopro footage of it enjoy :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrDHeDt32Cg
nice!
And u ran a 13.9 on your last run as well..? And all u got is intake right? Good stuff
what did u remove?
Need some clarification bogs
I plan to lower with coilovers around 2" with only natural camber, no camber bolts and want to be able to zero toe. Looking at purchasing a pair of Todd's tie rods. Is this used in combination with inverted tie rod ends or do I just use the stock tie rod ends? I'm assuming with stock tie rod ends, the tie rods will still sit angled and put strain on the steering rack.
Forget about roll centre adjusters? this shit doing my head in. dreadangel pls
Todd's tie rods and a rack relocation bracket is all you need. I will chase up what brand the rack bracket is
There was a guy from clubrsx who was making the steering brackets, 0857 was his username. You can try emailing him: dc5jdm@yahoo.com. I was gonna buy one 2 years ago but was a bit skeptical back then whether the effects could justify the price for just a metal bracket. Tegiwa also makes one i believe.
Just wondering if anyone on here has sold an EP3 and whats the average time it takes to sell one.
Ive had literally no interest in my one, had a 2 calls and a few texts but only one real person come inspect it.
Is there a lack of interest for EP3's now?
Mine is in such good condition, reasonable KM's, Serviced, reasonable priced, all the right things.
Just weird that i dont even get any phone calls
