I give the GAB SS coilovers a big wrap, only done a coupla thousand km's with em but when you turn em up they go hard, turn em down and soft as, looking forward to track testing em this weekend.
2 of my mates have the BC BR series coilovers in an s2000 and e46 BMW. I can say they are probably the best money for value coilovers. Furthermore, BC racing coils are known to be able to go very very low :) however the downside is that they claim to have 46 levels of damper adjust or whatever it is, thats just bullshit and only has about 2/3rds of what they say.
"43 clicks" is meaningless without a shock dyno to determine actual damping range. 43 clicks between rock solid and backbreaking means less than 10 clicks ranging daily comfort to track-spec-stiffness
Not quite man. not quite. Empirical evidence does not speak louder than factual research. BC has good after sale support from what I hear but that's about it...
That's like buying super cheap auto tools and having them constantly replaced under warranty vs buying a snapon set.
This I can agree with. It's the lesser evil and you'll get better value for money from it
Able to go very low/stanced = quality

All those taiwan coils are GARBAGE no matter if they last 2 months or 12 months..how do you even know the 4 springs are correct rates?
Do you honestly believe they are that accurate...
Will you buy a Great Wall car? hmmmm
Anyone remember the wave of D2 and Ksport years back?
Where are they now? most is in the rubbish dump I can bet as you pretty much never see them up for sale used...
Then consider Tein Zeal Cusco etc. you can see those even from the early 90s still useable,of course most are worn out by now but the quality difference is obvious
This. D2 coils shat themselves after 10-15k of STREET driving lol.. so that says enough...
I have HSD coils in my s2k atm (previous owner's choice)... and f me its seriously like riding on rocks. softest damper feels like im in a leb-spec commy with chopped springs and 22inch rims with 2cm worth of tyre
So.. pay the money, save up the extra coin, and get some good JDM shit and be done with it. Do it once do it right!
Theres lots to be considered though for a coilover as street use
Afterall traditionally they are a racing type style and having aggressive valving on bumps, something has to give out eventually
Road use obviously has a huge range of shitty conditions, potholes, railways lines, damaged bitumens we all drive on daily
do you alter the valving to suit those condition then people complain they feel too soft and not "sporty"
or you have aggressive valving and softer spring rates....theres ALOT of variable and setups we can try so no wonder its a pandoras box trying to choose a suspension that does everything and ticks all boxes
/rant
Hey buddy I've got Buddyclub N+ coilovers on my daily FD for about 2 months and they ride a bit firmer than stock. You can go very low which obviously gets bumpier but they're still decently smooth. I reckon they're good value coilovers and recommend them. The guys over at 8thcivic seem to say the same thing too
i've got tanabe sustec pro nf.. had em on for over 4 yrs.. no probs on em.. def cant go wrong with jdm
I will say this, a lot of the lancer guys rock BC BR coilovers because its pretty much the only option for them and there is a lot of positive stuff coming from them.. At $1999 from justjap, 30 level dampening, 12 month australian warranty, the value is there. A lot of them havent really had coils before so they cant really compare. Some say that theyre great, but there are some that are less than impressed with their performance/ comfort. The BRs are rated for street use, and they have the RM inverted option for track use as well which just jap said wouldnt only last for about 5000ks on the street due to the valving etc
there is always the makita option

Wai no skunk2 in dere?
Lmao skank2
No problems with my Cusco zero gt's.
One thing to mention. Make sure you get top mounts for the front. Worry less about whether they're camber adjustable etc, but just don't rely on the stock ones.
The Cusco's don't come with them so I was forced to use stock ones and they have developed alot of play in them.
* Bump - anyone selling fd1 suspension? pref coils.. or has links to sites selling online
hi guys is lowest height coilovers for highest quality ? like america stance?
Anyone here know how to reverse mount bbs lm
Was reading through duffys DIY but images seem not to be there
Unbolt the nuts and push the face out, the face comes out from the top of the barrel (you may need to apply some force). Then remount the face by putting it through from the bottom of the barrel and start re-bolting.
Right side is reversed.

Use threadlocker blue on the bolts and torque to spec.

Found a set of rims I really liked.
Shopped, XXR502 18x7.5. Hyper Silver vs Possible DIY Dipped White Faced.
Feedback?

don't like either, to be honest.
but white will be more work in the long run, but will match the car better, silver is less work but may be a little bit of the clash considering you have red/white/black already.
dark grey
doesnt match the kit in my honest opinion but the second pic defs looks better

Im loving the dish, white with silver dish is what Ive refined my taste to.
But Im open to hear suggestions, dont wanna leave any stone unturned.
i just have a thing for expensive JDM wheels hahaha - i'm sure you could make it work though with whatever taste you have
my suggestion (biased): get some ce28s to go with the RR kit (especially since you have the wing), or SSR Type F - anything multi-spoked really
but yeah that's just my taste go with what u like dude
Go on 8thgen civic forum (US forum) and see what they're tastes are. They are usually pretty good for ideas there.
Has anyone else had the button lights for their air on unit stop working for certain buttons?
Replacement set of bulbs delivered. :)

Has anyone here had any experiences with Varex mufflers?
Im looking at investing in one but im not sure what the car will sound like.
Im scared its gunna sound like a giant fart :(
buy something baller, like the J's Racing one, one of the regulars in here has it I believe, there's a video if you scan back a few pages.
J's racing isnt too loud, maybe they put in a straight pipe. i have the FD2R 60rs ver catback and it isnt loud.

LOL all good lolmclol!!
Paid 2nd hand 1.4 incl shipping from Canberra where ekdez had it. It's expensive due to being made of titani.
Fitment wise it's good though its made for FD2R
get a x-force twinloop.. cheaper than mugen.. quiet on cruise, loud when revved
My mugen twinloop backbox I got for 500 then paid another 100 for resonator delete.
Backfires on downshifts, not too loud unless you're hammering
Like i said guys. My friend was selling me a Varex Muffler for $150 and i wanted to see if anyone has had one or heard one on a K20Z2 Engine.
I was looking at twin loops but not too sure. Are all twin loops the same or different brands have different sounds?
i have the js racing 70rs Ti on my s2000 and it aint high pitched.. but it is freaking loud..
tbh on an FD, if u dont get a catback (so just an axle-back) it sounds shit unless u do resonator delete
resonator delete, it would def be loud... mine i got it with the j's catback and the resonator on the j's is smaller than oem

mine, dang its been a while
my old x-force, not the varex though

Top mounts. Do these seem legit?
Does anyone have their stock top mounts that they wanna sell?
I'm using stock one's (since my Cusco's don't come with the top plates) and on the drivers side the mount has been loose and is partially separated. I think this is because I installed it with the bolts in the wrong holes at one point. I corrected it but since I'm anal like that I want to replace it - preferably with aftermarket camber adjustable (since they're cooler)
Haha i see i see try asking this guy. Hes located in melbourne but he does free shipping for most products.
http://www.garasiauto.com/ Im about to buy BC BR coilovers off him. and he quoted me $150 a pair of camber top
for OzHonda members
Does anyone have FD mudflaps for sale?
The wreckers in Melbourne quoted me for $40 each :(
FD2 with Buddyclub Headers, 3 inch Mid Pipe, Oval Varex Muffler, Kakimoto Tip
Deep sound at low - medium throttle, high pitched and extremely loud at WOT. However close to stock sound with valve closed.

Get a magnaflow, nice deep note when foot down but quiet on idle
