Me personally I'm just going to do the I/H/E on my EH VTi, but I'm gonna do some heavier work on my CRX SiR :D
I read that thread and somebody said that using the stock TB and IM from the D16Y8 would add a bit of grunt to the D16Y1. Can anybody confirm this? I thought they were pretty much the same engine lol. What car has the D16Y8 standard?
hey mate as far as i know the TB and manifold flow the best of all the D series and are like the Type R of the bunch :P
i thought that the Y1 were the same i have a Y8 and a Y1 motor in the garage and both have the same manifold and TB
Cheers
Ok. So if I wanted to do some bolt-on mods to my D16Y1 what could I do aside from I/H/E? Any suggestions on TBs and IMs?
I have a 3" short ram that I'm going to extend into my bumper for my intake and I'm thinking either a 2" or 2.25" full exhaust would be nice (probably 4-2-1 headers).
So any ideas other than that?
Thanks.
Andy.
Nothing really makes any difference on the SOHC VTec but boost man..
I've been down the NA track without any clear benefit but nicer nose and being able to hear VTec better.
Xforce 2" custom exhaust
Xforce 4-2-1 header
Xforce S12 twin Loop
Simoto cool air intake
After all the cost the car felt maybe 2% down low and no difference up high..
Save your money
LOL what a pain in the ass.
I have a CRX SiR with the B16A so that's my main project, but I guess I just wanted a little more go in my EH VTi.
But from what you've said I might just put the cash into the CRX and stick to the short ram & strut brace on my civic coz it sounds nicer and handles stiffer :)
Yeah the B16A pulls real hard. 118kw @ like 7800 RPM. I was thinking if one day I have loads of money I'd do a K or B18C into my CRX and then just whack the B16A into my civic, but then I realised the B16A is too old to put into my civic :(
