Why not just get a whole half-cut, a CVT and engine would still be fun :) thats why i want one for my wife's car, she would never know of the vtec-yo hidden inside :)

the jdm d15b is not the 3 stage vtec. the 3 stage vtec is the d15z7.
actually there appears to be jdm d15b that have 3 stage vtec.
d15z7 is for 3 stage vtec outside of japan.
theres two types of d15b
the usdm and the jdm one... the jdm one is the 3 stage...
and the usdm one i think is a carby methinks...
theres d15b is australia too. its just the sohc non vtec in eg's. if its jdm d15b should have vtec rocker cover.
nah jdm d15b doesnt have vtec rocker cover i dont think... not all vtecs have the vtec rocker cover... my daily has a vtec solenoid (vtec-e) but doesnt have a vtec cover...
So it says -
"From around 3000rpm up to about 6000rpm, the first VTEC actuator switch engages and the previously inactive intake valve now goes into operation. The engine now runs in 16-valve mode behaves just like any of Honda's highly spec'ed 16valve PGM-Fi engines. After 6000rpm the second VTEC actuator switch engages the wild cam/rocker arm pair for the intake valves. This switches the engine into the wild-cam mode where it goes bonkers delivering 130ps at 7000rpm"
What's 130ps? How does that compare to say my d16y4?
I can't understand the power comparison because this is a carby car.
Oh wait,I saw this -
"EK3s with manual transmission have final drives of 4.058 with 1st & 2nd gear ratios of 3.250 and 1.782 respectively. Manual Ek3s have been clocked to do the standing 100kmh dash in low-9s, faster in fact than an automatic transmission EG9 or EK4 B16A Civic."
My automatic y4 is 10.5 seconds.
i think u guys can try the Honda City models assembled in Thailand.. 7 speed CVT gearbox with D series vtec engine..very fuel efficient as i have one back in Malaysia!
lolz lucky bum!
my d16y5 has none... =( but the solenoids there so it better be vtec.. hahaha
but yeh the 3 stage is a very interesting motor... sux how its hard to source here.. motor, ecu etc.. would be a very nice motor to put into a tiny shell for a daily/fun
hehehe
that sounds about right?
