WTF. looks like Melb must have sold a bunch of EM1's to NSW lately :/ What happened to the 24 em1's that showed up at the em1 photoshoot 3 years ago??????? Black one looks nice man. Looked better on the 5zigen wheels imo though.
go a little lower @ the front :)
the buddy clubs have maxed out in the front so i cant. plus the exhaust hits enough as it is already lol
I would raise the back. looks good at the front already.
If you could lower the front, you won't be able to drive anywhere.
I got buddyclubs too and I can go even lower!!! thats heaps strange.
Are yours double tap?
Heres mine queensland sr3s ek9 steering wheel ek9 shifter headers n stuff
double tap? i havent really adjusted the spring seat as i dont want to change the spring rate, but the botton is would all the way up, and i havnt taken the lock ring out.
it could be the angle on the grass and stuff to, it sits on top of the tyre no finger gap between guard and tyre
Hey guys just thought id upload 2 recent pics of my car, join in on the fun ;)

Don't know - talk to your Honda dealer/spare parts man chances are he/she might know.
You just need a rear wing and rear lip to finish it off :)
PS> your build thread link doesn't work.
whats the diff between 99 and 00 EM1s?

Nice mate, welcome to the em1 club :) what wheels are they?
thanks.. they are rota grids.. kind of regret not finding the stock alloys as the car came with chromes but oh well
those are very nice rims, definitely better than EM1 stockies. 16x7 right? What offset are they?
Your car reminds me of my car when I got it, it's the same colour and also clean.
You gotta remove that front badge for the EK9 look, It's real simple, just remove the front bar (takes 5 minutes) and simply take out the mounting screws.
Absolutely loving all the em1's, they look absolutely stunning!! hopefully i can find myself another 1 soon :) *fingers crossed*
yeah man real nice
cheers MIKECIVIC78.
they are 15x7 +20 offset.
thanks for the heads up on the front badge i will look in to it this weekend!

mine and my mates subaru
they are 195/50/15 falken ze somethings.. nothing flash just the cheapest falkens they had
I was just thinking about your tyre size and correct me if I'm wrong, but with that tyre size, your speedo will be out. It'll be showing more on the speedo than you are actually going. If you stick with that profile, then after while your odometer reading will actually be more ks than you've actually driven.
It's only a minor change from stock EM1, but it might mean not getting a speeding ticket because 62 will actually be 60 (but don't forget that factory speedos always show just that little bit more speed on the speedo in stock form). I know cause I used to have under-sized-profile tyres on my EM1.
But back to ur car, with that size, the tyres retain a nice profile and the 195 on 15x7 gives it just a hint of the stretched look. Now you just need to do the suspension. For EM1 I highly recommend EK9 rear sway + ASR (if you have't already done it) then your choice of spring and shock or coilovers (which ever is your thing).
correct! it worked out to be approx 200bucks cheaper than to get the one with the 55 profile (i know some of you guys are shaking your head right now but im asian meaning im stingy and an apprentice meaning im poor..). The guys at bob jane who fitted them for me did inform me of this and worked out with some computer program that the speedo would be out by some % where "if the speedo read 100kmph your actually going 97kmph". i felt that i wouldnt be cheating anybody if i do decide to sell the car so went ahead with it.
cheers for the advice as well i was actually looking in to the ASR the past few days.. mind as well save up and do it all at once with the coilovers. could i ask what spring/shock/coilover setup your using or recommend?
I'm using Koni yellow adjustable shocks with Eibach pro kit. Great for the street, awesome comfort/handling compromise, spot on really. I recommend Koni Yellows with your choice of spring.
Most people will say go coilovers, but in reality a good spring/shock combo beats cheap coilovers hands down. Coilovers are crap on the street, unstable and harsh..... but good on the track and will let you drop it real low.
Depends if you want a racecar or a streetcar. You can't practically have both.
cheers for the heads up. i just wanted to go LOW in any case but definitely dont want a bumpy ride.. ive experienced konis adj. with kings in a peugeot i used to own and was quite happy with that... oh such a hard choice :(
yea, but i recommend better springs than kings IMO.
Kings = comfort, unless u like to give a it a go every now an than, stay away from kings, there progressive spring rates will not meet ur expectations, too soft of a spring rate, if i recall on a ek, it was something like 2.5kg/mm - 3.2kg/mm something like that lol, only slightly firmer than oem spring rates
i use to have koni yellows with peddars springs i still do it there in the garage.. (if anyone wants them for $$$) lol, but when u say coilovers are harsh on the street, i dont really think so.. i have N+'s and there great and comfortable, handle very nice and i can lower the car when i want with out it being a struggle lol, so i dunno, i think u can have both IMO guess it all depends on the quality of the coil over and whether there damper adjustable..
but u are right about the koni yellow's
yea, you make a point AlexK, good quality coilovers can give you the best of both worlds, but come at the expense of cost.
just say you have a budget of 1200, then definitely i recommend spring/shocks.
+1 on this. Coilovers tend to be too 'bumpy' on the street IMO given how sh#t the roads are in NSW - especially where I live anyway - a good quality shock/spring combo can work really well.
I've heard really good things from everyone who has had Koni yellows. I'll have to do some research into these when it's time to replace my shocks...
This review pretty much sums up the difference between shock/spring and coilovers for the street:
http://www.ek9.org/forum/resource-ar...-review-2.html
Just seems like every second person is on coilovers these days! Maybe it's the easy option.. who knows...
know any aus places with em1 rear lips guys?
any1111 selling there em1 in nsw??? struggling 2 find 1 lol not many sellin at all :(
When I bought my EM1, it was competely stock except for Altezza Tail lights. I hated them, so the cheapest solution was to whack on EJ8 tail lights. I do not wanna pay 350 for EM1 lights, and IMO, they arent anything special.
I spotted these on Ebay. EM1 style, but with a modern crystal look. 145 delivered from the good 'ol USA.
What do u think, fellow EM1ers?

clean
honestly man, you get what you pay for, id buy them for 350 just to get OEM because i guarantee you, you will get fog / condensation, ebay job headlights/taillights always get it and u end up being unhappy with what u have received and have to go through the trouble of trying to re-seal them.. ( and the problem still appears )
Believe me, its not worth the head ache, i got stung with the ebay job headlights.. unless there "depo" then 99% sure u will not be happy unless u like condensation :P
Not to mention their could be fitment issues
let me know how you go :)
do it once and do it right, buy cheap parts and youll end up buying another one.
+1. An extreme case involved the after market lights somehow shorting out and caught the car on fire - food for thought anyway.
My cousin bought some for his lancer off eBay and they are pretty much just rubbish. I won't say don't buy them, but I doubt you'll be happy. Plus no offence to people on this forum (we can all afford different things), but who wants a ricer looking Civic anyway.
Save up and do it right the first time
yea, I can't decided myself if they are nice or rice. They are not complete rice Altezzas, just an update of the EM1 style.
Anyways they are 140 bucks delivered, so last night after coming home after a few beers I said bugger it, I'll order them. If they look crap or don't fit well or leak/distort I can always put the EJ8 tail lights back on, maybe even tint the EJ8 lights.
350 bucks IMO is just too steep for OEM second hand tail lights.
I'll post some pics when I get them and put them on.
I put the em1 lights on my ej8 looks a lot nicer
Another little pic more to come lots has changed :)
