I'm using Koni yellow adjustable shocks with Eibach pro kit. Great for the street, awesome comfort/handling compromise, spot on really. I recommend Koni Yellows with your choice of spring.

Most people will say go coilovers, but in reality a good spring/shock combo beats cheap coilovers hands down. Coilovers are crap on the street, unstable and harsh..... but good on the track and will let you drop it real low.

Depends if you want a racecar or a streetcar. You can't practically have both.

Kings = comfort, unless u like to give a it a go every now an than, stay away from kings, there progressive spring rates will not meet ur expectations, too soft of a spring rate, if i recall on a ek, it was something like 2.5kg/mm - 3.2kg/mm something like that lol, only slightly firmer than oem spring rates

i use to have koni yellows with peddars springs i still do it there in the garage.. (if anyone wants them for $$$) lol, but when u say coilovers are harsh on the street, i dont really think so.. i have N+'s and there great and comfortable, handle very nice and i can lower the car when i want with out it being a struggle lol, so i dunno, i think u can have both IMO guess it all depends on the quality of the coil over and whether there damper adjustable..

but u are right about the koni yellow's

yea, you make a point AlexK, good quality coilovers can give you the best of both worlds, but come at the expense of cost.

just say you have a budget of 1200, then definitely i recommend spring/shocks.

+1 on this. Coilovers tend to be too 'bumpy' on the street IMO given how sh#t the roads are in NSW - especially where I live anyway - a good quality shock/spring combo can work really well.

I've heard really good things from everyone who has had Koni yellows. I'll have to do some research into these when it's time to replace my shocks...

This review pretty much sums up the difference between shock/spring and coilovers for the street:

Just seems like every second person is on coilovers these days! Maybe it's the easy option.. who knows...

When I bought my EM1, it was competely stock except for Altezza Tail lights. I hated them, so the cheapest solution was to whack on EJ8 tail lights. I do not wanna pay 350 for EM1 lights, and IMO, they arent anything special.

I spotted these on Ebay. EM1 style, but with a modern crystal look. 145 delivered from the good 'ol USA.

What do u think, fellow EM1ers?
