New speakers installed !
6" splits in the front, 6.5" in the rear and a single 6x9 in the centre between the two back seats. All Soundstream. Will post pics up soon :)
Also a pair of 4-way 6.5" Xplods under the drivers seat and passenger seat for that surround sound
Two amps needed to run all these, 7 speakers + a pair of tweeters all up
what is the purpose of the 6x9?
Easy bass without having a sub
The 6x9 is basically for show, I cut the plastic centre out between the back seats and stuck it on. There's a pair of pioneer subs in the boot actually ^^ I love my music loud.

Not sure if I can upload pics with my iPhone so here's the link to the centre speaker.. Bit messy with wires around

lol, ruined it.
Keep your negative opinions to yourself, twill be much appreciated by all. :)
Preludes were first made with a speaker in that spot, stock.
umm, lmzoooo
this is a public forum.
you post up pictures of your car for people to see.
not everyone likes your taste.
I like some things you've done with your car, but I despise the HID lights and that speaker.
cop it on the chin little boy or else just don't post.
that way, you'll never receive negative comments.
sure, they may well have a speaker in that spot stock, doesn't mean I have to like it, let alone an ugly 6x9.
haha fukin bludger, telling it like it is since 2005.
If the 6x9 is there for show replace it with something that actualy looks appealing, cheap 6x9 isnt anything to show off, replace it with a decent set of components. Also run the wires so you cant see them, looks like it was installed by an untrained chimp.
Are the speakers under your seat just running free air or have you enclosed them?
Most of my system is soundstream and I personally find soundstream clear and loud, it's not cheap il tell you that >.<
The wires are all hidden now, not a single one sight
Under the seats there sort off free air.. But I tuned them low so there clear
So are we free to say whatever we want to each other ?
Bludger, get a life :)
I was refering to the 6x9 not soundstream in general, you havent named the other parts used so i can only go on the pic provided. The 6x9 looks to be an arachnid if im not mistaken? I spent more on cabling/wiring for my car than a set of archnids go for these days ergo i think its cheap and nothing to "show off". Also the main point is a decent set of components > 6x9.
Good to hear you have run the cables properly:thumbsup: Looks dodgy when there are cables running around the cabin.
You need to enclose the speakers, make a shallow box out of mdf. Runing speakers free air and under a seat is pointless IMO. Having speakers under your seat doesnt give you suround sound either, just gives you 2 poorly placed speakers running stereo output....
So when's the h22 bit of the build start?
and sorry but i think that spider looks horrible too
Say whatever you want about the speakers, there loud, clear and I like em. :)
I installed my k&n Apollo kit this morning, ran it from the air filter box straight to the bottom where it's just visible from outside. Cold air made a bigger difference than I thought.. Any negative opinions on that? Go hard :)
For all you haters, the HIDs will be in soon.
Your going to love reading through this a couple years from now
Good luck with the HID's :)
Kinda with Bludger on this one. (Shock horror, but he kinda has a point)
If your having your filter outside the engine bay, i'd recoment leaving it just through the hole for the resinator.
If you remove the air intake resonator, and put the air filter where it was, but keep it as high as possible.
Its amazing how many Hondas die of hydrolock. The intake just has to get covered with water for a fraction of a second to suck in a fatal amount of water.
Sure, your driving habits may make it perfectly safe, my intake is kinda low also. But my car is only driven WHEN I WANT TO.
So, if this position suits you, and your driving habits. Go for it son.
But if this is a daily driver, consider getting the intake a little higher.... It'll still work higher. Maybe even a tad better with a shorter intake...??!!
Just a few things to consider...
A H22 requires an air intake of around 40 litres a second. @ 5000 RPM
And needs less than 5 teaspoons of fluid among that 40 litres per second of air to totally destroy a motor FOREVER. (no hope of a rebuild)
But, as I said befor. If these facts work in ok with your driving habits. Feel free dude.
My old DC4 had a DIY CAI and sat very low in the front bar. car was 9cm to the ground and on my first engine (after 2 -3 weeks of getting it and my red p's in newcastle) i had no way to avoid a massive puddle (more like a pond) and water went up and over my bonnet 9big splash). the car ran rough for about 2 weeks (just getting the car i didnt know much about it) and finally the bottom end bearing gave up. that was an expensive fix.
my BB6 is lower with the pod filter (injen cai) actually sits fairly high to try to avoid that mistake.
*sry i menat after u rip out the resonator
My filter is in its original spot, I just ran a pipe (Apollo kit) from the bumper to the filter so it sucks in only cold air. It's possible for water to run up there but only little drops that would hopefully not make it through the whole pipe
If anyone knows of someone selling headers and exhaust suited for the h22a could you let me know :) I want to start looking at prices. Also, any suggestions on what air/pod filter I should get? I currently have the stock air box.
injen intake
tri-y header
high flow metal cat
2.5" exhaust with resonanter and muffler
hondata s300+ tune
thats like $3.5-4k worth of shit right there (cheaper if you buy used, instal yourself ect) including labour and tuning, expect around 125-130kw atw
and if you wanna be a deadly kunt you can:
3" exhaust
skunk2 intake mani port matched for bigger tb
70mm tb
thats like another $1.2-1.5k, expect 135-140kw atw
car would still be slow though because its a heavy ass prelude lol
my conclusion: leave it stock lmao
What lags the prelude is the gay ass gearbox in it, drops out of vtec sometimes.
Makes the car feel soooo slow. I had a bb4 with jun cams, higher comp, aftermarket comp pushing out like 145kw.
I would go for a final drive upgrade to at least something decent vs the 4.2fd
That's pretty far off my current budget lol. I don't know much about these .. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...id=65039441637 what's your opinion ?
My mate put a 4.68 fd in his h series gb, car runs alot better, though its not really a cheap mod for what you get back.
i'd hate to see the quality of the shit in that link.
When I talk about cars dieing from hydrolock, it's pretty much personal experience.
Although not my cars of corse.
I drive an RACQ tow truck. 1 of only 2 specially designed for high performance cars.
Whenever we get big rains, I can almost be assured of getting a hydrolock or 2.
And all types of cars. Everything from new HSVs with poorly designed CAIs. To the boy racer mob with AG pipe home made CAIs hangin put the front.
My point there is, just cause you bought it from a shop. Don't assume it's safe... LOL
Here's a pic of the apollo kit .. http://instagr.am/p/f42zx/
So what do you think of the eBay full exhaust system for only $200 ? Will it do the same job as an expensive one?
Will a lightened flywheel reduce the chance of dropping out of Vtec during gear changes?
no, you need to change your gear ratios or change the vtec point for that
had a chat wid a dude with em1 h22a he said he changed his final drive to a 4.66, doesnt drop out now and much better accelleration
Yea that's not worth it, I sit on 2.9 on the highway already lol
Does anyone know the price range for a tune?
And a guy in Sydney that does tunes..
all the things that u want on your list i already have em on my car and its all nice and simple mods to mak your car look nice and make sure you dont RICE out your car
Writ it off buddy :L selling parts if your interested? There's only damage to the front left panel and door and bumper is peeling!
