When did you win the lottery? Hows about a loan?
The FUJITA CAI has arrived...sweet..Time to dyno
" The circle is complete" err it will be when i get the Jtune flash I've ordered lol :D
Printable View
Damn that came fast!
Nice!
from what i could see theyre straight 4 to 1.... if theyre 4-2-1 its a very very small 2 section!!! its already 1pipe before it even gets halfway down the engine block!!!
and yes ive called Adrian... they keep saying theyll email me or call me with details... but still nothing :(
Ordered Fujita and Header last Friday arvo from ebay, two different sellers.
Paypal paid immediate. Got headers TUESDAY got FUJITA TODAY. F**k that's awesome from the USA. Especially at 89cents in the dollar.

Cant wait to make a lot of unnecessary and uncalled for excessive noise in my neighbourhood. The cool thing is my cars a total sleeper except for the rims and lowered Tein SS suspension.
Remember: Its not about the horsepower, its about the PERCEIVED horsepower from the EXTRA noise. That's why you car is faster with the windows down. Ask any Pulsar+MiloTin (TM) driver....
EUR003act whats Pulfords like in arranging Dynoage? Im only 1 click from their shop.:)
PS: Am I supposed to drink that NOS or pour it in the fuel tank? :/
hehe hell yeah!! intake sounds SSOOOOOOOOOO SEXY with the windows down....
i cant wait till i get my headers, pulleys and flywheel... its gonna be sweet :D
what's the nos can??
Now im tossing up about the Dyno tune.
Ive got these parts to fit
Topspeed Header
Fujita CAI
and soon
Mild Jtune reflash.
Should I get a DYNO based stock first (1)
Then fit header and CAI and second DYNO (2)
Then Jtune reflash and last DYNO (3)
Or am i wasting my money?
Anyone know a good place in canberra with a dyno?
Just thought I'd post up a cpl of pics of how to adjust the rear Tein SS and how to access the cavity, someone else was asking me on the weekend at a meet.
First is a pic of a access hole I drilled behind the seat which is only visible with the seat in the open position. I'll get a couple of rubber caps one day.
http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/7...menthf3.th.jpg
Here's a pic of how to remove the side panels next to the seat to access the shocks and line up for a hole to drill thru for adjustment as above.
http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/1268/squabtb6.th.jpg
I just didn't screw the side panels back in after install the coilovers. They can easy lift off after opening the seat backs and fit back on. They do not move once the seat backs are locked in position. You can easily adjust the dampers this way. Just an alternative to drilling holes.
Yep. i did this. I have my bolsters in unscrewed for easy adjustment.
By the way I set from front Tein shocks to 14/16 so nearly full stiff and the rears to 10/16. So its pretty firm but has freakishly good handling.
I might go 12/16 Front and 8/16 rear for long term.
On other news my baseline dyno was a DISASTER. See this thread http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...37#post1392737
86.5KW FTW!!:thumbdwn::confused:
Anyways looks like it was my inexperience contributing to this. Total waste of a baseline dyno.So bugger it im installing the Intake and Header this weekend. Then a new Dyno.
So I fully expect a 50kw gain on the next Dyno!
I love my EDFC... but then again, I need it as the damper always needs adjustment depending on who is in the car. :)
HOLY MUTHER! :eek::eek:
I just installed the Fujita Intake and the SS Headers.
I must have 100 more kW as it sounds like I got a f**ken turbo under the bonnet.:p I think I sucked up a terrier and some small children as I drove past, such is the force of my intake suck PowA!
Jesus thats some serious cop attracting donut noise!
Its totally sweet when I hit vtec in 2nd or 3rd, you can hear it engage very clearly. You cant talk or have a conversation and be heard but you can here the vtec kick in like a mutherF.
On a serious note it does seem to have a fair bit more squirt up in the top half of the rev range. But is hard to say cause more noise sounds like more power to me and most other people.
Its a bit loud for my liking. Normally if I gave it a little bit at the lights and no one would even know, but now I'd get pulled up by any copper within 100 metres for sure. So that sucks. But it is a very nice and tough sound.
Ill see how it goes. 2 dyno results soon!
PS: The install was fine. I used all the internet guides and my Bro In Law is a champ on the spanners! No real hiss or issues with the flex pipe on the Topspeed headers as yet.
The Fujita CAI install was very fast. Probably 40 minutes from start to finish. He nailed both those tough 10mm bolts on the resonator with ease. I also opened up the plastic fog cover for some cool Ram Air Intake Action (TM)
^^ you just described exactly why I never swapped from the Comptech Icebox - CAI is so damn loud it is ridiculous.
^^^^ I think that confirms my decision to purchase the Comptech Icebox rather than the Jtune CAI. I don't want to lose the stealth factor... I think the Icebox and Hondata mild reflash will be perfect for my needs.
I got them from http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=300155866021
It arrived in 5 days from Texas! Fantastic.
I do find the Fujita too loud but its great fun and very tough sounding. see how we go in the long run...
if you're worried about the loudness, just dont use WOT... problem solved :D
Everyone is different with the loudness...
I love the sound :D
Thanks suntzu! Did you notice any hissing or buzzing sound when accelerating?
I cant tell over the FulLy SiK SucK SounD bY FuJitA (TM)
Seriously though, theres not much of a hiss. The Topspeed ss header fitted perfect and didnt seem stressed so I did not get the flex replaced. We will see how it goes. Doesnt worry me cause its a 20 min job to remove that part of the header to get it fixed.
I checked it for leaks and seems ok. Two weeks of driving should sort it out then I'll retighten the bolts and check again.
Im keen to get a new DYNO but have no idea where in canberra given my last dyno disaster.
Yea CAI is definitely loud. I've got an Injen with K&N filter & I've set off car alarms several times going WOT. Have you noticed the VTEC transition to high-cam is also much clearer?
Im getting used to the Fujita CAI. As long as youre not WOT all the time its fine. But when you to..believe me othere cars KNOW your coming through. Its like an agry animal is unleash and begging to eat someone. :)
I dont know if its the CAI or the Headers or both but I can hear VTEC so clearly now. Its a bloody fantastic sound. A real mechanical switching noise. It sounds really efficient and powerful.
When I get Jtune and the VTEC is 5000 rpm then its going to be that much sweeter.
I can feel a bit more low down torque at approx 2000-4000rpm and a bit more power at about 5000-7000rpm. Its noticeable, a modest improvement, not a great one. At a guess im calling 10-12kw at the fly. Im hoping with Jtune it will be a very nice combination on a budget!
140kw atw should be perfect for everyday drive =) and very nice on the mods, im keen in getting an intake and pair of headers as well. reading your post makes me psych about it and its driving me crazzyyyyyy lol.
If you drove my car you would be a happy camper. Its brings joy every time I hit Vtec!!!
Hi Suntzu, i'm also thinking about installing your headers. Do you think it is a worthwhile mod and have you had any issues with it so far? Thanks.
No issues so far. Fitted perfect. No movement or need to retighten. Tiny hiss, but i like it. Hardly hear it over the intake. Its a win for the money.
Ok,
Minor update.
I have exchanged the Fujita CAi for the Comptech IceBox.
It is MUCH quieter, not as tough sounding but it sounds decent. Its not a cop magnet any more. ( not that ive ever been pulled over, i havent, ever) I do miss the vtec roar at 5000rpm but it less noticeable anyway now I have the jtune flash.
Im installing a K&N filter today as I think the stock filter is a bit arse.
I have also installed a Magnaflow 300 cell ceramic cat, dunno what size but it matches my header. Initially it didn't do much but after a hundred Kays or so seems to be giving me a bit of extra torque done low.
This sounds like crazy talk by my cars pretty torquey now!
I think the icebox is torqueyer than the the fujita but the fujita has more power at 6000rpm. Not much more and I dont spend a huge amount of time at 6 grand anyways :)
So maybe the combo of Comptech Icebox and Cat has added torque down low more than expected.
Definitely that with the Jtune and header makes the car more drivable. This is good and kind of the opposite of a lot of honda tuning which aims for peak dyno power.
Now ive almost decided on an exhaust.
A local aussie guy on ebay selling the HKS SILENT HI POWER for $700 + $130 ship new. What a great deal.
It s a bit of a waste of money cause i dont expect power but i want a tougher sound, but not too loud.
This will probably complete my performance mods.
I do have the blackout tape, SS doorsills and my free Heat shield gasket to install..one day!
I've done all this stuff on the cheap as you guys now but its worked out good.
I reckon i will hold the record for KW per dollar but i need a dyno to do that and im waiting till the exhaust is fitted. Will take a while.
Anyways that completes my update. Post any comments but keep it on track please.
Where did u get you front grill from??
Does it come pre painted?
it looks much better than the original grill!!
lol you said in your dyno thread that you are going to do 'a heap of mods to the engine'...so far you have intake, headers and cat. not exactly a 'heap'
What could i do to you please you Will? I mean i don't want to disappoint , after all im only doing it for your satisfaction.:thumbdwn:
I meant it when I said keep this thread on track. Post relevant useful comments or don't post. Its not complicated.
I am considering lightened flywheel and a mild clutch but my clutch isnt due and i want to do both at the same time. Not sure of the install cost either.
Id love cams and a tune but i already have Jtune mild Flash and regardless theres not a lot of decent tuning options available. That and the fact I haven't seen any decent posts on cams and dyno gains.
I pretty happy with the mods Ive done to be hones. It might not fit wills idea of a "heap" whatever thats means but ive had a lot of fun doing it bit by bit and im sure theres more to come..
heap of mods = heap of cash = you being poorer.
If i had inifinite money, i'd do inifinite mods but dang its soo expensive.
nice to know that you feel it makes a difference.
Can't wait to put my UR pulleys in.
Hey Suntzu, where do you get your work done? In Canberra?
I did most of it myself with my Bro In Law. Only the CAT was done in a shop. That part of the fun doing it yourself if you can!
get some form of lip/body kit and a new CF bonnet and make it a real j style car lol.
do the manual transmission ones come with K20??..are the manual ones more sportier is what iam asking lol
cause in japan the CL7 come with K20A so if you have this engine it will be easier to get parts from japan that will fit.
I currently have a accord euro and all i got it a lip kit and a grill but it looks pretty clean and stock
No, manual still have the k24 in them lol
LOL that some crazy ass talk man! Be nice if we had the K20 tho, love the sounds but i do like the extra torque of the K24.
Id love a CF bonnet but i would paint it red like the rest of my car, too try-hard having a black bonnet in a honda!
Love to do a sensible weight reduction....
Ive got a HKS Silent Hi Power on my euro and its just perfect.
The twin mufflers look awesome and it doesnt cheapen the car with a loud exhaust note. Just perfect..
but if you havent changed headers or cat(hi flow) loudness wont be an issue.Quote:

I have, as per the posts on the previous page.
I think im definitely going with the HKS silent power. Shouldn't be too loud from what I've heard with a header and hi flow cats. Theres some decent clips on you tube.
I find the fujibso to be too quiet and expensive and the others too loud. That's why I've settled on the HKS Silent Power. Not to mention the very good pricing...
I have a aguy on ebay sellign them cheap and I just emailed the aussie HKS distro www.justjap.com to see what they can do...
I could only find 1 video on youtube, and that was an average one. Anybody got links?
Im not too concerned with loudness anymore because JDM style here i come! :D
Sorry for hijacking your thread dude.
Loving this buildup!
Keep an eye out for mine very soon :D
cheers
So how do you find your HKS Silent power in day to day usage? Not too loud? Tough sounding? Any gains that were noticeable?
i look forward to your mod thread. cheers
Hmm, now im thinking Lightweight flywheel and decent clutch would be better bang for buck can the hks exhaust.
Doing some research as well on it, cheap to buy clutch and flywheel not sure on what my honda dealer charges to fit....any experiences?
Then I got on this tangent
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-J...spagenameZWD2V
and
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-H...spagenameZWD2V
Obx is a shit brand though i believe. interesting idea though for an LSD...
LSD + racing Flywheel = WiNnA
I would reckon.
EDIT: This is a BARGAIN http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/F1-ST...spagenameZWDVW
and this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...link:middle:us with Exedy
dunno about F1 racing brand.
Is 10.5 lbs light enough over stock?
During day to day driving it is excellent.
In the lower revs its is loud but as you go through the rev range it is not bad at all.
When on the motorway for example if you leave it on cruise the exhaust is silent
When you hit the A pedal however you will definately hear it.
It sounds very tough, better still, instead of me describing it i will throw it up on youtube tonight for everyone
sweet as, look forward to seein it lol
man, can't wait to hear it, i
still need to record what my car sounds like, i have no idea as im always driving it.
good to see a bunch of euro owners looking at the HKS exhaust now =D
I having a lot of trouble finding anyone who sells this at a decent price. Theres an NZ ebay guy around the $850 delivered mark but hes not getting stock for 8 weeks.
I cant justify the $1200+ for the local guys. Too much dough for a non performance mod.
Im leaning towards Exedy lightened flywheel and stage 1 clutch instead at this stage.
o~~~~~yeah~~~~~thats the face im talking about.
working~working~
my next target!!!!
OK,
My 300 Cell Magnaflow Cat has been in for a few weeks and is now working well.
Initially i hardly noticed it but now the car has DEFINITELY got more Torque from 1500-5000 rpm. I dont notice it as much above 5000rpm but that probably the vtec kicking in anyway.
My car feels VERY torquey and tractable around town. Very nice cost effective mod indeed. I'd say this does more than cat back but i dont have cat back so i really dont know.
Skunk2 Gear knob installed. Helps with the shift and looks good. A bit cold to touch when you first take off in the morning though. Cost about $100 landed.
Changed my Comptech Icebox Filter to a K&N filter. Did the foam insert mod. Now the icebox is about 10% louder than with the comptech filter. Sounds a bit tougher, its nice actually and no where is as loud as the old fujita...
All good cost effective mods.
I cant decide if im doing HKS Silent Power Cat back or Lightened flywheel and sport clutch. Im leaning towards the exhaust even though there's not much performance in it because the install costs of the clutch are a bitch...
cheers
russ
Hi suntzu just wondering where did u buy ur headers from if from ebay u reckon u can gimme link :) thx man its hard to find any headers for this car in melbourne !!! thx man ur car looks HOT !!!!!
Thanks for the comments.
Its a TOPSPEED Stainless Steel header. 12 months and going strong. Especially since I did the cat. My car really pulls like a mutherf*ker now.
Fortunately for you I NEVER delete email. i back that shit up.
heres the exact guy:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Acura...spagenameZWDVW
i dont know if its the same header I go, but it looks the same, is the same price and is the same ebayer.
All you need to do is ask about shipping and it MUST HAVE TOPSPEED on the box ( NOT OBX, OBX=Shit)
Having trouble getting the HKS SILENT power, local proper distributor wants $1580 landed. Thats some BS for for a 2 kw increase. Im out for now.
oh thx very much :) cheers mate
just ordered my header from http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Acura...spagenameZWD2V
special price for $170 USD + $120 USD shipping :)
cant wait for it to arrive to me YAY !!! oh with your cat where did u buy it mate cant find 300 cell cat from ebay when u install the cat did u have to cut off ur old one and weld the new one in or u custome made new pipe and weld it on cuz i wanna copy something like RT cat u know wat i mean :)
I got the local exhaust place to fit it as a package. Was supposed to be a 300 cell Magnaflow Metal Cat but the guy reckoned he couldn't fit the o2 probe in the metal one so I got the ceramic 300 cell cat. Flow rates the same. feels like a decent improvement over the 900 cell cat thats stock. Cost me $495 all up which was too much. I reckon the peformance gain is similar to a header though subjectively.
Sorry my bad, it was $65 USD landed so about $75. All good.Quote:
Damn, the Skunk2 knob was going for $80 locally just last year! Back then there was a lot of stock, and even a special anniversary edition.
Felixd: That link doesnt work for me but as long as you did what i said you will be sweet. I fitted the header myself. Awesome bang for buck mod with an intake. Have fun.
$495 farout more expensive than the RT cat and i thought the RT was robbing me. =P ah wells glad to know it runs like a B#$% it is.
Do you find it louder in exhaust noise?
No louder. Not really at all. It was fitted as well so theres an expense there. I didnt actually do anything..
I cant hear it over the intake and header. I reckon if i get an exhaust I will hear it. So ive read anyways.
so the header is easy to install ? how long does it take u to do it ? what about tightening the bolts up did u use torque setting or ? and did u use some of the gasket paste?
is h&R lowering springs any good for accord euro ?
Since I have the Jtune mild reflash wich is optimised for 98ron fuel . I thought, hey would it be able to handle higher compression in the head?
The K20a uses a 11.5 compresison ratio.
The K24A in the Euro is a 10.5. Now i have the reflash i reckon it can handle a little more.
I saw this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/k20-k...mZ370042206008
I thnik i means I can raise my compression by 0.3.
Should be ok since i have the reflash and only 98ron do you think?
What sort of gains might be reasonable expected?
i was looking at that gasket for my build...
i havent heard of the brand before, so i asked a few of the tsx guys, no responses from them about the brand :( so im not sure if theyre any good or not...
power wise i dont think it'd be worth it for you, the gains wouldnt be that high, and its very very expensive to have your cylinder head removed to fit the new gasket... im talking about 4-5hours labour ($90 an hour labour) depending where you go...
DYNO TIME!
Im getting my dyno done today at 3.30pm same place as Justins ( euroact13) got his done.
Any tips I should know? Fourth gear right? Im gettign 4 runs. Should i try any other gears. Turn vsa off of course.
My last dyno was 86kw and a friggin disaster. i hope this ones done right.
suggestions?
you doing it yourself or getting the guy to ?
Im assuming they will do it. Im hoping so.
goodluck mate, keep us posted and how much is the guy charging?
and can you pm who the guy is maybe i'll visit canberra sometime and go and get a dyno done if the dyno day in sydney doesnt come soon.
Turn off VSA, turn off A/C and make sure your engine is warmed up before you run.
