^^ did you get a bike man?
at 1.69 for unleaded petrol prices, i think he did.. lol
FD3S... ownership costs aren't anywhere near as bad as people think.
The only niggle I've had has been the gearbox- i busted a linkage out as wsid. It cost me all of $110 to fix.
Fuel, insurance and all the rest are pretty similar to any other performance car.
Are you fkn serious?!?
An RX8 uses like 60% more fuel than the S2000, and its not even turbo!!!!
being realistic i would probably be moving onto a 350z or Evo next.
both cars are good bang for buck fun!
mate your going in circles lol, between those two cars id go for a 350z but have you seen the lancer's interior & the performance doesn't make up for its shitty interior & then again 90% of the reviews say the s2000 is better then the 350z :p but a 350z does look phat with some nice deep dished rims.
Im actually getting a Evo...couldnt agree more with the interior, however performance wise, Evo's arent that quick out of the box however respond extremely well to bolt ons, unlike N/A's. Simple bolt ons on the 4g63 can net up to 260awkws and a bucket load of torque for a cost less then 4k. :D
Dont get me wrong I loooooove the s2k, but once you have forced induction you can never go back :p
Having both is the obvious answer! :D
EDIT: after 5hrs today, engine bay no longer looks quite so messy and untidy.

Damn, gunna have to agree with Ludecrs again!
http://s2000.byteserve.com.au/turbo/complete.jpg
That looks....... complicated...
EDIT: Whats the black box beside the top radiator hose?
That's the cruise control unit.
Indeed it is!! Thats looking great!!:D
Was contemplating the same kit but decided to sell my rig instead.
Just out of interest, I know you can comfortable get around the 240rkws out of that supercharger kit on a 10psi pulley, any idea on torque figures as the ol f20c seems to be lacking in that department.
Yup, plumb back. I did it to reduce the 'ricer mating call' but it's still pretty loud.
USDM or other?
I'm only going to ~9psi. After 9-10 psi, it requires internals and stuff, and I don't really think I want to go that far.
Being centrifugal, the car runs like normal until the revs build higher and higher. My fuel consumption hasn't dropped at all, but then again I've been babying it everywhere for a week, at no more than 5K.
It's a Rostra unit.
You should hear it at 20psi!!!
I just sold my S2K (few weeks ago) so I decided to stick with honda so I''ll be getting EP3, was thinking about EVO 8 MR but decided to have something cheaper but something that's gonna be fun and not expensive to maintain, and that's what R stands for hehe
Now if I was gonna spend more $$$$ I would go for E46M3, get KW coilovers, CSL air intake and agencypower exhaust, car get just sick with exotic sound.
350Z wouldn't be upgrade, R34 is good but i think their price will drope even more once R35 GTR hits nissan dealerships in OZ
^^ how come you sold your S and how much did you sell for if you dont mind me asking?
Well I work away from home (work for around 4 weeks than get 10 days off) and my S2K was just being parked in garage, so that was $30K+ just not being used and seating there, so i decided to go for something a bit cheaper but still fun and should hold price better than some other cars so I opted to try and get EP3 imported (plus I always wanted one of those), use to have DC2R and Rs just suit me hehe, anyway apart from that S2Ks are pretty expansive to mod so that sort of put me off a bit as well, but I realy loved the car.
I sold it for $33500, it was 01 model with 67000km, I should get EP3 for around $23K so yeah $10K more to invest and try to make some more $$$$ hehe
Well the s2k is now sold...Checking out a few evos 7 this week and my new wake boarding boat..:D
good luck with the evo7!
yeah evo's are mad hot.
8/9 are teh sex....6.5 is hot but a bit dated.
They can be tuned straight off the bat too, and gain a fair chunk of mid range and top end when stock.
r34 gtr DO IT! you can find them dirt cheap now, ive driven the evo's. cant beat a gtr haha
ps, i can refer you to a friend with an import yard if you are serious about an evo, he usually has a few mint ones complied with goodies or stock ready to go. pm me
buy a property
Thanks guys!
Yeah might even be geting a evo 8 now, can get one for the same price as a 7. Have a mate that imports them.:D
Was looking at a r34 gtr, but slightly out of my price range as I will also be buying a wakeboarding boat in the next few weeks :p
As for property was looking at investing in a house or club but I thought I have a bit more fun first before I settle down:cool:
I've driven my R34GTR almost daily now for the past three years and loving it. With the right clutch set up and some light power upgrade, it's very easy to drive in town. The only downside is that it's fairly heavy on fuel, especially as I'm pretty heavy on the throttle! lol
I use the S2000 sparringly, mainly for a bit of roof down fun and the sound of that vtec kicking in.
want to sell mine to get something i can trash, say Evo 8 or 04 STi.
even tho currently i go rexy n s2k, both on em r on 20" n slammed on it guts...........sick to crusing lol........i need something for track day!!!
You do realise you could put some track wheels on one of your existing cars and 'trash' (did you mean 'thrash') it.
Hard to thrash a s2000 with chopped springs :P
Evo and STi, good track cars piss easy to do good times so you cant look noob lol.
I'm sure he dropped it on coil overs and kept the original springs. Only a ricer would cut springs.
nah i dont cut spring lol...........fark that!
shit old thread!
i have moved onto a 350z now. Very different to drive compared to the S but i like it!
just sold my s2k...looking for an nsx now
Nicos old red NSX GT is for sale for $50K
Still over priced IMO.
is that the one with all the stickers and volk racing rims sounds liek a ferrari?
yep, but its back to being relatively "stock" again.
5 pages before I saw some sense in this thread..
The only route for me after the S will be a 987 Boxster S or 2nd hand Cayman. The dream would be a 430 but the reality looks like a porsche
I down graded to a 08 CRV lol... Dont tell me why !!! lol
There is a reason they havent sold for 40-45......
^^ obviously...As much as its nice to be able to buy an nsx, i think for the money there are better cars to buy.
wtf are you on ludecrs have you checked prices on nsx's? 40 - 50 is a bargin...
http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/HONDA/NSX/private-results.aspx?State=All%20States&N=4294965322+0+834 +285+257+4294964914&Make=HONDA&distance=25&state_i d=0&Model=NSX
Why would you spend 50K on a 91 NSX, when you can spend $70K on a 98 50th Anniversary Edition one.....
91 / 92 imports I've seen as cheap as 34K.
You're buying a 15yr old car......
91/92 NSX? for $34k? where?? thats pretty good for a project
If I had 65k in cash, I'd buy that 98 model one.
I'll forever regret the day i didnt buy the purple 98 NSX-T for sub 70K tho.
NSX....straight up...
audi rs3 hehehe little bit left winged
RS3?
You mean RS4.
Get a S5.. that's where it's at!
E46 M3 is good, can pick them up for around $60K
