petronas.. maybe this one
TRAFFIC SIGNS & ROAD MARKINGS
Drive contrary to direction of traffic lane arrow $189 2pts
driving a turbocharged Honda on P's = -4 Points =(
AFAIK (from RTA documentation) there are certain brands of steering wheel and boss kit which are ADR aproved.
Autotecnica, MOMO, SAAS.
If the seat is ADR approved it will have a tag on the seat itself or paperwork.
Word of mouth approval doesnt apply
I have one here with ADR tag.
hmmm
one question... prob not even supposed to be here but,
when you change ur engine obv u have to tell RTA but what else would u have to do??
also... is there a charge for have a different cluster to oem.. say from ek1 to ek9 having differnt kms??
other then getting it engineered if need be, you just need to get a place that does blueslips to sight the engine number, they write something out, you take it into rta, and change engine number
and no, nothing about clusters, exept that technically you should have the kms on teh new one wound to match the old one
thats the things.... i highly doubt jdm h22a prelude cluster would fit ek -.-
hahahaha
if you can make it fit, then sweet, there wont be a problem
I was talking to a guy form the RTA just then and he was explaining to me points on a license... Instead of saying "you have 2 points left" he was saying "you have 5 points and you don't want to hit 7 because that is when you loose your license" (Green P's = Max of 7 Points)...
So is this how the points system works, you start out on zero and loose your license when you accumulate your maximum?
Yeh its always been like that ... but somehow we all got it wrong O.o haha
No one should have points... if you have points, ur a bad ass lol.
yes, its demerit points. means you get points for bad things
red ps can get a maximum of 3. 4 or more, goneskies,
greens can get up to 6, 7 or more, gone
blacks up to 12. 13 or more, gone
i wish we had 50 demirt points :( ... vtec for a year and not lose your license yO!
So guys, another Q for you's...
If we pay our fines sooner, does that mean we gain our points sooner?
(I payed my speeding ticket like 3 hours after I received it thinking the above....)
yes, after you pay you get the points the same time the year after.
e.g 1dec 2007 ---> 1 dec 2008 you should gain them back
it takes 3 years for every offence to gain the points back
Not indicating while exiting a roundabout - 2 points
man... i miss the old days... where if u got a fine... u would pay by cheque and put 1 dollar extra... they would send the cheque back but if u dont get the cheque's money your license wont be suspended
:( i miss those days
in my datto 1200 ute with the Sr20det in it i had it for 2 yrs and it went to the defect station 9 times in 2 yrs ... and never pined me for anything hahaha ... i say if you are going the mods your self then after its done get an engineers cert.. cost a bit but saves the hassel...
Thanks zco,the new bride copy I got was looking good for a daily until I read this.
Cheers mate :)
i'd have more concerns on a fixed bucket over a reclinable, regardless of brand..
so dont worry too much, unless you got a fixed bucket ? lol well regardless, its just a warning for ppl that dont have the demerit pts to cover for the mods.. some ppl end up losing their jobs because they have no license.. =/
Yeah,it's a fixed bucket seat I got just for Track Days. The Bride Vios III.
Cheers mate.
got fined for speeding not so long ago...cop also told me i overtook on the left but didn't get done for that. he asked me why..i was like cause i felt like it !!
:S
Overtake to left of vehicle $135 2
fail...2 points huh
so if there's a 3 lane road with a 70k limit and a driver is doing 60kph in the middle lane..is it illegal for me to do 70kph to the left of him?
if its 3 lanes in one direction i dont see how its illegal
i think the overtaking to the left is more to single lane if you go off the road aorund them
umm i think overtaking on Left is dangerous as there can be cars parked on the left side of road can you can't see sometimes especially with big trucks maybe? LOL
Is it legal to do a 360 degree turn on a roundabout?
no....
Do like 1080s.. just say you can't figure out which direction you wanan go yet LOL. Umm and no I believe it IS legal to do 360 in a roundabout what if you wanna go back in the opposite direction? ._.
well thatw obvious, you cant go the wrong way
can anyone tell me if they can take my car away if its considered a defective vehicle?
ive just got a strike against my name. cars been impounded once before. im just scared of taking her out again. i wont be doing anything stupid again thats for sure. but my car isnt exactly normal looking. just need to know if i get pulled over and they dont like my wheels, can they take it for 3 months?
ITS CALLED Engineering people!!!
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78487
Never leave home without one!!
yeah im goign to get it wengineered but im moving to back to Vic soon, unsure if Brisbane engineers have any say on vic registered cars, ill have to call vic rtoads i think. thanks
Not in particular, but an officer may reason that it is erratic driving.
hey i just had a read in the rta site...it says USE VEHICLE NOT COMPLY WITH STANDARD
Defective seating....might mean that we can have recaros but we have to have all seats in the car? i dun quite get it...man this rule is pain up the ass...i was plainnng to get the bucket seats><
afaik if your car is a registered 4-5 seater (i.e. people sit in the back) you can not have two fixed bucket seats, they have to recline.
if you want fixed seats you have to register your car as a 2 seater?
and also if you remove your rear seats its a defect also unless your car is registered as a 2 seater.
so that means i canstill get recaros....and just get ADR proof?
yes recaros are fine, just fixed seats are issues with police
Is it illegal to cover your whole car in P plates in NSW?
Like showing nothing but lights and windows?
I'm on my red P's - I got a speeding fine of exceed 15km/h (so lose 3 demerit points).
Do i lose my license for 3 months then have 1 point left when i get it back ? Or as lose all 4 points (due to automatic lose of license thing) and then get 4 points back at the end of the suspension.
I just thought i'd post it up here.
my gfs dad owns a small rigid truck, it is loaded with pallets daily. the side of the truck has been hit with a pallet a few times and has been smashed a bit out, probably around 4cm from the original position (basically been dented from the inside so the side is out 4cm or so from the original position).
He was pulled over, 3 cops looked over the truck and deemed it defective as the side was "dented and extended the width of the overall vechile".
Okay fair enough this is correct. However, on this truck (and most trucks in australia) the side mirros extend past the rear container of the truck a good 30-40cm at LEAST. therefore, how does a 4cm dent in the rear container make the vechile's width...wider?hmmm:confused:
that is plain bullshit.. he wanted to stir shit on purpose.. have this appealed in court
you guys are hella worried about this defect and demerit points stuff, that is max penalty, usually if your not a douche to the officers they wont even go into demerit points, atleast thats from personal and friends experiences. so dont be a dick and give them the respect they deserve and they (most) wont be hard on you, remember they are just doing their job.
i got pulled over, didnt have my license, didnt have p plates on the car
he gave me an 80 dollar no point fine for the no license, just said make sure you check your plates are on next time, alot of people steal them so people get in shit off us
I think its bullcrap that if u lower ur car 1.5 inch all around and have a lip its a defect because the lowest part of the car is less than 10inch
GRRRR
10inch?
you mean 10 centimetre
ive seen some dc5's with their number plate on the front of the front bumper and some in the small gap just above the bottom of the front bumper. which of those 2 are the oem position for the number plate?
lol how low can you actually go in qld/nsw, 10cm??
Where do they measure this?
Mudflaps?
whatever point is the lowest, yes mudflaps do count, unless they are like the big rigs which are designed to flap and deter rocks from behind traffic
On 180sx's cops go for the exhaust at the rear near the diff as if it's lowered its going to be 90-70mm off the ground
If I lowered mine my cat would be the lowest if the front deflection plate was removed, lol
Fark my mudflaps are like 2 inches of the ground **** that
Scrutineers at race events (NSW State Cahmpionships) use a device which is basically a metal ring 100mm in height attached to a long handle. They poke it under your car and if it 'tings' anywhere then you are deemed to be too low. Maybe the HP need one of these as the idea of being pinged arbitrarily (as mentioned above) really sucks!
Peter
thats what they do mate, they get that device and smash it into your front lip and when it hits, they say it's too low, heres a defect.
you ever driven from syd to canberra before summernats? you'll know what I mean if you have, about 100 defected cars and coppers using that thing.
mudflaps dont count
My EG, lowered on pedders, currently, with mugen lips on, measuring from a coke can, distance from lip to ground is 3/4 of the can gone.
i once got pulled over, the way cops look ar ur ride height is froma coke can, and i asked the cops why he did that, and they say, "its a way for measuring lowered cars, usually coke cans height is the maximum legal limit for lowering here in NSW.. " but mines lower than that, didnt get a defect, he just told me to rise it up.. was i just lucky? :S
yes. very lucky
aiyahh..
lol a fkn coke can, are u serious bahahahha,
Fk tha police
