So guys, another Q for you's...

If we pay our fines sooner, does that mean we gain our points sooner?

(I payed my speeding ticket like 3 hours after I received it thinking the above....)

yes, after you pay you get the points the same time the year after.

e.g 1dec 2007 ---> 1 dec 2008 you should gain them back

if you loose (suspend) your lisence tho, its from the time you receive the letter to notify when you loose it, regardless of when you paid - normally 2-3 weeks after

Is it 3 years for every offense or just speeding?

If not, what are the time periods for other offenses, in particular -

TRAFFIC SIGNS & ROAD MARKINGS

it takes 3 years for every offence to gain the points back

i paid my fine, recieved a letter about 2 weeks after i paid it, and then it told me that i will be suspended a certain date ( which was approx 12days from that date i received it)

man... i miss the old days... where if u got a fine... u would pay by cheque and put 1 dollar extra... they would send the cheque back but if u dont get the cheque's money your license wont be suspended
