Go for the ER592's w/out a doubt man, Goodyear Ducaro/Duraplus very old technology and as with most Goodyear tyres bar their F1 series they lose a lot of thier orig grip as they age, the 592 would be a lot more linear as it wears down. You'll be happy with it as a comfort sporty touring tyre.Quote:

Yep sounds like they're KU31's, KU36's are semi-slicks and you'd notice straight away just from looking at the tread pattern.

I use the 595EVO daily in a 205/45/16 on my EG and I love them. Heaps of grip and extremely predictable when they do break traction. I've had my set for over 12months now and the front's are about at the wear indicators.

If you are after a sticky street tyre then there is: Hankook RS2, Hankook RS3 and Toyo R1R. The R1R is a very sticky tyre and certainly outgrips the RS2 but I haven't read any good reviews compparing it with the RS3 yet. For competition tyres in that size I know of Hoosier R6, Nitto NT01 and Hoosier A6.Quote:

what i i have noticed is significant scrubbing on full lock and when going over bad bumps...
would that be due to the over sized profile? i mean im not even that low, factory settings to be correct.
my initial reaction was to change to 195/50/15's..
would that correct the issue?
I grabbed a set of 17" 205/40 Kumho Ecstas SPT(KU31?) for $120 a tyre, balance and fitted. Got no complaints for the tyres yet...

The reinforced sidewall construction has the primary aim of carrying additional load. Some sizes of a tyre have a symbol of “ET” for extra load. This is more relevant for off-road tyres because there are occasions when the vehicle tilts enough for the sidewalls of the tyres on one-side to start carrying some loads. I am guessing the reinforcement will be running vertical from bead to shoulder. Whether they are in lining, mesh or bundle, I have no idea.Quote:

They are, but it'd be a waste to drive them on the street. If you can afford them you can afford a second set of rims.

Guy, 245/45R18 is wayyyyy too large in diameter for an Accord Euro. 40mm or so larger than the OEM tyres. That is absurd. Don't be comparing the dimensions of your proposed new tyres to those tyres you have now because they are not even close to making your speedometer and rolling diameter correct, and your car must look interesting on those tyres.Quote:

That makes more sense :). In that case a 245/30R20 or 255/30R20 should fit the wheel fine and are pretty close to stock diameter, guard clearance I have no idea about. In these sizes there are a fair few options. What are your preferences in a tyre? I have experience with both the Bridgestone RE050A and Advan Sport, they are available in suitable sizes and both have a decent balance of grip, low road noise and passable treadwear.Quote:

Its pretty hard for me to find something that is 98W, the only size and brand that i can find so far is 'Zeetex' and i've never heard of them and reviews, to put it nicely, say they're crap.

I have to replace my 4 Dunlop SP Sport 205/55/16 tyres on my '05 Euro.
I do very little driving these days as I care for my Father and I am on a carers pension, this puts me on a very tight budget, although I do not want to discount safety.
I remember a set of very cheap 'Sam Yangs' from about 20 years ago, I could have had just slicks on, for they had no grip at all, which I found out the hard way.
So I want comfortable, low noise, safe and affordable.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Not exactly a tyre recommendation, but have anyone tried importing from US? It's much cheaper then getting tyres locally here in Australia, even after shipping. I imported Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star which doesn't come into Australia, and they are excellent! Bought it from tirerack.com for US$186 per corner. All up plus shipping under A$1,100 for 4 tyres. Just add A$20 per corner for fitting & balancing. Someone else suggested onlinetires.com which has similar price as tirerack.com but charges a little bit more on shipping, so best do your research.

This is the first time I have purchased a performance orientated tyre. So far they seem awsome :)
