if you got time and money.. best to get some rims and chuck some slicks on (what yonas and SHW.70Y have told you)
on street and if you havent been on the 1/4 mile before, R888 are good enough.. but watch the money go with these tyres lol

if i remember re001 225/40/18 go for 340$ at advance tyres
loving the 225/40/18 re050a i have atm though

Anyone got any recommendations on 20x8.5" alloys? Need to replace my current 18x8.0" and 245/45/18 wheels. I used tyre calc and i got 245/35/20 and its only 1.8% faster (i.e i'm actually doing 101.8kmph when it reads 100kmph).
Will 255/30/20 fit on properly? That means i will be going about 2% slower, but thats ok as long as it looks decent XD Not sure if i want the tyre to look too stretched on the rims.
Anyway, what tyres are good for those sizes? I'm so noob at this stuff

Guy, 245/45R18 is wayyyyy too large in diameter for an Accord Euro. 40mm or so larger than the OEM tyres. That is absurd. Don't be comparing the dimensions of your proposed new tyres to those tyres you have now because they are not even close to making your speedometer and rolling diameter correct, and your car must look interesting on those tyres.
Moving on.
For the new 20" wheels I would be going for a 235/30R20 because that seems to me to be the only relatively available tyre size that is close to the right diameter and will fit nicely on an 8.5" wheel. Smaller diameter would be better. Kumho KU31 comes in that size and it is a decent tyre.

Even your 245/45 R18 tyres are already 43.4mm too large in rolling diameter to be cop-legal. The limit is 15mm if I remember correctly. For 20" and 245 wide tyres, you need something silly like 245/25 R20 because 245/30 R18 is already at 20mm increase which is not cop-legal.

Ahh yeah sorry I can't believe I left out that it is for the cu2 not cl9! My bad!
That said I guess putting the cl9 with cu2 wheels with stock tyres is out of the question then woulda been interesting but yeah, 5.8% too fast according to the calc hahah.
Those kumho ku31 still recommended? Also anyone fog any tyre shops they recommend in Melbourne? Thanks

That makes more sense . In that case a 245/30R20 or 255/30R20 should fit the wheel fine and are pretty close to stock diameter, guard clearance I have no idea about. In these sizes there are a fair few options. What are your preferences in a tyre? I have experience with both the Bridgestone RE050A and Advan Sport, they are available in suitable sizes and both have a decent balance of grip, low road noise and passable treadwear.

Awesome thanks hmm I think I am looking for something that's a little quieter than grippy though I don't mind sacrificing comfort for performance if the performance difference is a lot higher. Do u have a price range I should be looking at for those tyres?
Thanks guys

Also, one more thing, is load rating super important? Technically it will void insurance if i dont have the right load rating but is this something that insurance companies will use against you?
Its pretty hard for me to find something that is 98W, the only size and brand that i can find so far is 'Zeetex' and i've never heard of them and reviews, to put it nicely, say they're crap.
!! so hard!

Hello,
I have to replace my 4 Dunlop SP Sport 205/55/16 tyres on my '05 Euro.
I do very little driving these days as I care for my Father and I am on a carers pension, this puts me on a very tight budget, although I do not want to discount safety.
I remember a set of very cheap 'Sam Yangs' from about 20 years ago, I could have had just slicks on, for they had no grip at all, which I found out the hard way.
So I want comfortable, low noise, safe and affordable.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rodney.
