does anyone here know if there is an aftermarket CMC for the EP3
pretty sure mine just broke
second time this is happened to me
There's a deal on bridgestone's atm if anyone is considering them

Don't go RE002s if you're planning on track; just go straight for the RE55s
Or go for the Kuhmo KU36's, they're steet/track tyres and are around the same price as the RE002s
RSR and KU36 are on another level compare to re002.
The bridgestone equivalent is re-11a maybe
Anyone have problems running 17x8 +35 with 225/44 tyres? lowered about 1 finger gap front and 1 and a half in the back. currently the 215/45 scrub only when i hit big dips or holes
that setup will be fine with coilovers and around -1.5 camber all round
Sweet, time for new tyres soon, I was afraid it would scrub too much, especially in full lock. I should probably invest in some front camber bolts
Hi, everyone!
So, I've just registered with the local motor sport body here in the NT (NAMSC) and paid for a CAMS L2S licence. I'll be tracking my car very soon! :) Our local track is Hidden Valley for those who are wondering.

At the moment, my car only has engine mount inserts and engine torque damper installed. Wheel hop is now NIL.
I'm due for new tyres though so I'm after your help. Anyone who's tracked their EP3 - can you recommend a good track/daily tyre? I only have 1 set of wheels at the moment, the stock EP3 wheels, and don't have the time to take my car to a tyre shop to have tyres switched over for each track meet. I'm not too worried about sacrificing daily ride comfort as I used to have a VERY stiff ride in my old car...and how much worse can a set of good track tyres make things?? It can't be that bad, right???
Also, should I stick to the stock tyre settings (205/45/17) or increase to 215 or higher?
I plan to track my car in it's stock settings the first few times and improve as much as I can with good tyres before considering what upgrades to add depending on my abilities. Which upgrades did you guys add that seemed to improve your track times the most?
9" +0 with a 205. top of tyre tucks into guards. winnning!

I ran 17x8 +35 with -1.5, with 225/45/17
It scrubbed when i hit bumps, so i went back to 215 and it's all good now.
recommend ad08r for daily and track use
dat mexiflush
hmm, just wanna go wider tyres since im getting a new clutch soon and im supercharged. It already scrubs if i hit a small dip going fast but its only hitting the liner
my front scrubs when i hit bumps. the guards starting to go a bit funny on the edge :/ its getting rougher everyday, soon paint prob all gone. should i flare it out a bit so it just scrubs the liner not the lip?
How often does the ep3 timing chain/belt need to be replaced? As in maintenance schedule.
Is there a cat back exhaust that mounts higher than the stock one? Especially the b pipe section. I've been having some scraping in that area with lowered RSR springs.
There isn't much room for adjustment, unfortunately the EP3/DC5 chassis makes the mid pipe the lowest point of the car since it doesn't have that hump in the middle where the exhaust would run thru like other cars. Soon enough you'll be able to judge any bumps you'll scrape. You'll find almost all the secondhand dc5/ep3 exhausts sold will have scrapes across the b pipe
Thanks for the information.
I was going to replace the exhaust but since it's a chassis problem it wouldn't be a definite solution.
Stock springs would be an option but I love the way it looks at the moment.
My tires are currently 205/45/17 semi slicks. And I'm going to 215/45/17 wet weather tires in the future, do you think this would improve the scraping issue?
Dont think changing tyre width will change the cars height. Even at stock height driving around older suburbs with sharp bumps would scrape the b pipe. Just something you'lll have to live with. i've got a 70mm exhaust and the height from the ground bis about the height of an an iphone sideways
Not really a chassis problem so to speak. Its a Type-R, so naturally performance before practicality. Now factory is low already and adding lowering springs which I believe if its the RS*R Down, would be about 20mm all round? so if you were to knock off 20mm from your ground clearance, there isn't much room left...
Anyone know what kind of offset I need to clear Spoon calipers? I was thinking 17x8 or 17x8.5.
Hey everyone. So my driver side door stopped locking and unlocking properly.
This tiny part broke (see attached). It's job is to hold the wire from the lock motor and wire attached to the lock and lock knob together.
Can anyone help me
Find the part number? Attachment 26773Attachment 26774
A generic one won't work?
Just installed a new clutch and lightweight flywheel, feels like im leaning to drive manual again lol, can't wait till it breaks in!
But have any of you guys adjusted the clutch pedal? It seems almost impossible to fit anything in or get any leverage to loosen the nut locking the pushrod at the pedals...
Can someone please confirm the HID control unit and igniter for both pre-facelift and facelift JDM headlights is the same?
Does 02 EP3 Type R front headlights use 'D2S' or 'D2R' light bulbs? Or is it the same thing?
I need to change my bulbs ASAP.
D2r, I have set for sale if ur interested
can anyone guide me to where I can get the decal walker japan for the air walker japan front spoiler
Hahaha, that's not bad man, I've done it daily for a long time with a rev happy engine [Read nothing below 2.5k XD], its amusing when you take off slower than a bus...
im getting this weird sound when engaging first gear slowly (im still hating getting used to the 6 puck) and theres a sound that's kinda like a howl, like moving wooden chairs across a flat floor. My old exedy heavy duty clutch also did it, and its only when im slipping the clutch before it engages when taking off or parking
Practice finding and getting use to the friction point so that you can bring up your rpms and disengage the clutch for a smoother take off. Ride it a little longer at first when you're not so use to it, then reduce time riding the clutch as you get more proficient and confident. Even if its sprung, it will have a tight window for you to play with. Once you're use to it, its fairly easy.
This is fairly normal for your type of clutch depending on GBox, Material + Design of Clutch.
Though if the HD [Which I assume is the HD that's one step above OEM replacement ie not Sport/Race/Comp spec HD] is doing it too, could be a bearing or something in the GBox.
haha yeah i got the hang of it a alot better, but sometimes it bogs down (jerks) and then picks up again, must also be cause the lightweight flywheel :/
all bearings were replaced, i think the heavy duty is just the oem spec with a heavier pressure plate on it. Guess it's just the way it is, just like noisy ceramic brake pads, just annoying cause its quite audible outside the car, makes it feel cheap haha
hey guys anyone got a front type r emblem (mounted on the grill) that they dont want/ arent using that i could purchase off them ? The Y letter fell off mine the other day :(
Ive looked at pics without the type r emblem and the front looks naked :S
Am I blind or is there no clock in the ep3?
And if I'm not blind, what's the best route to take in order to add this luxurious feature? :)
Where is the best place to look for window visors?
Anyone have non-OEM visors? And opinions?
nope don't think so lol
1. Get a head unit that has a clock on it.
2. Get a clock and stick on somewhere on your dash.
3. Get a watch.
JDM concept has OEM visors for ep3's but it's $275+shipping
Shift performance have visors for ep3 also and it's only $99. Except it's non-OEM so they're not coloured plastic like the OEM ones. I have the OEM ones and they're a lot better looking than the non-OEM IMHO.
Thanks for the advice!
I agree, I'd only go OEM. I'll just wait for a used pair to appear.
Your head unit should have a clock however I bought a clock taco cause when I have videos playing I don't like the time visible on head unit http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/07/py9ugytu.jpg
Haha nice! I have the exact same phone holder!
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/07/u8u5a7ud.jpg
Its really nice quality.
I was thinking of sacrificing the cigarette socket and buying a clock that plugs straight in.
My head unit charges my phone anyway.
Where's you get your clock taco from? That's awesome man!
Yeah the phone holder is awesome but the only thing is that its stuck permanently on the windscreen so it's not portable
The clock taco was bought on ebay and i have it hard wired into the cables leading to back of the head unit so no need for wasting cigarette lighter ..
Phone holder is really solid. Its portable to a degree, but it relies on adhesive to increase the hold.
I'm using a steelie
http://www.niteize.net.au/collection/steelie.asp
You get used to it man. I like the magnet there now
I'm using an iOttie Easy Flex 2 car mount and have it located on the drivers door.
Attachment 26842
Not really an appropriate place for it if u use the navigator or need to use the phone.
anyone tried to install LED reverse lights? they dont seem to work, but the normal halogen ones do
flipping the polarity still doesnt work, does it need some sort of resistor?
bought mine with reverse led's and they seem to work :/
dunno came with the car ask symphorced maybe haha
could maybe try cut and swap the wires around? so neg to pos vice versa
My ep3 is being parted out, anyone want anything before I post the thread up?
Went to check oil levels at home and this fukin happened http://i60.tinypic.com/vy83kg.jpg.
hehe happened to mums old falcon
had to use pliers to open bonnet
anti theft mate. feel like just getting some metal handle welded onto it lol
just glued it back on with some steel reinforced epoxy putty, its probably stronger than the way it was held now lol
Hey guys, anyone know what 17x8.5 +45 would look like on an EP3? Don't want a hella mad stance yo look but definately not hover car either. Just want it to sit nice and close to the arches.
Rears will hit or get very close to the trailing arm, you may have to run some tiny camber. fronts will sit out more but not by much try looking into the 17x8 +35 to 40 range if you want to sit out a little more
could a slipping belt cause a cylinder misfire? Washed the under of my car and got water on the belt, car started squealing like mad when i started it up and a CEL for cylinder 2 misfire came up. was on a cold start
Well just felt like checking my car before I go to sleep and found out my antenna was stolen. Wtf is wrong with the world.
Looking for tips for fuel consumption.
Is it just my car or are the gears really short?
