lol you were complaining you couldn't put your LCAs in.
next time get some jack stands, LCAs are a piece o piss. I've had mine in and out plenty of times.

Threw in some phillips crystal vision 4300k and white LED parkers and aligned the bulbs which took an hr. But worth it in the end. Who said you need HID's... these work really well surprisingly!
Yeah dude I will take some tonight. I wish I did a before shot with the oem globes and after shot with the phillips crystal vision :( woops. But anyways I reccommend them and I will post some up tonight
cheers
I had a fine day yesterday polishing and waxing my car (and my buddy's Mazda 3). The Adriatic Blue Pearl on my Civic was heavily oxidised, and had turned into a dull solid deep blue colour. As supercheap autos is having a sale, my buddy and I got the $30 rockwell polisher, and I used 2 coats of Meguiars ultimate compound on my car. The dirt, grime and oxidation was removed very well and the colour returned to a gleaming gel-like blue. Then put on a layer of Meguiars deep crystal polish (on sale for $19) for the glaze to really come out. Covered it with Turtle Wax super hard shell.
The roof's clearcoat failure was cut through very hard by the compound. It cut through the paint and spread it out over the white clearcoat patches and turned them into a light ash-blue colour. Topped that with one layer of polish, and 2 layers of turtle wax for weather proofing's sake. This morning the car was covered with tiny bubbles of dew drops all over, thanks to the wax. Previously without the protection, the dew wouldnt bead, and instead spread across the body and then evaporate through the day. I'm happy with the results from all the buffing, polishing and waxing.
Fyi, I bought the civic 3 weeks ago from a dealer for $4500 incl rego and rwc. It had clocked 169k in the odometer. The car has clearcoat failure on the roof, and the body throughout has a few dings and paint scratches. Until yesterday, the body had a lot of water stains, bug and tree sap, road grime, oxidation as well as bird poop damage, but the UC took care of all that!
cool story bro, tell it again
Put my DC2r shifter in my EJ, OMG!!!!!!! Shifting is sooo much better now, less of a throw an feels alot more tighter....:D:D:D:D:D
For any ek owners out there, go an get one! you only need to mod a bit to fit it on
Best 30 bucks i ever spent LOL
Removed the one rear quarter window and cut out the rest of my passenger door. madness.
I slept in the back of my EK hatch.
It was actually pretty comfortable.
why so serious? just joking jeeeeeeeeeez people need to chill around here, that reminds me i have to clean my car
I lay on the back seat, with the seats up as normal. I normally sleep curled up, so it was pretty good. Moving the sub would have been far too complicated after a few drinks :P
I was expecting it to be terrible, but I was pretty happy with it.
So coupe seats fold down? I always through they were solid back?
On another note, I started the sound deadening process in my car.
I slept on the driver seat folded all the way back once at uws uni during a 4 hour break and it was actually comfortable. lol
New addition to my DAP ek:
- Oem hoodbra with fender bra
- Fn2r replica round gearknob (feels so good)
Pics with the hoodbra?
Yeap, just pulled out some pics of it after a wash few days ago

edit*: i also relocated number plate + installed mudflaps which are dragging on the floor...
That looks tidy as, the purple seems to have held up a lot better than my red has. haha.
That explains it :D
I would love a respray, but unfortunately funds do not permit such things :(
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...w212/Civic.jpg
There it is after I last washed it.
Doesnt look too bad paintwise.
the paint doesnt look that bad, really really uplifts once you buff it.
your car should be sex and very SIR style once you lower it.
loving your OEMness. keep it up. i prefure OEM then replica parts.
Thanks man, thats the style I am going for.
I just want it to look like it came from the factory, but with a few nice extras.
All of my parts are OEM so far.
My next mod is installing power windows :P
ahh, power windows are so much comfy,
i think you should if your willing, to get ek4 sway bars and other oem suspension parts with lowered spoon springs?
will be good handling
That would be pretty nice.
To go from not having any bars on the EK1 to the EK4 bars, will I have to change LCA's or anything?
nah man, though front sway bars are different story, rears are fine, from ek4>ek1
i think CXI's may need changing of LCA's
I see. I guess I will just have to search around here for a guide on swaybars or something when I have more time.
Lowering is definitely on the cards through, looks heaps meaner (obviously not this low, haha):
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...2/LowCivic.jpg
I little bit of photoshoppping never hurt anybody :P
LOL thats not low this is.
sorry i used ur pic and photochopped
http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._2601911_n.jpg
Man, I can already tell this is going to cost moneys :( But it looks badass.
Possibly after lowering a change of wheels could be in order. Its currently rocking out 14s.
you can always rock oem EM1 rims or BLADES. OEM goodness.
lowering only = $200-400 if u do the cheap springs or 1k for coils.
I was actually looking at the blades recently, but decided just to get new rubbers for my current ones. I believe the ones I have are from a VTI Coupe. I'm pretty happy with the RE001's on them.
I think for my usage, nice springs and shocks would be the go. I want a comfortable daily, not a track car :P
i finally put my JL Audio 6*9's in this morning, my car is still half apart, but man do they sound great!
Cheers mate!
Any more progress with yours?
slammed with sir lip = win
Spoon lowering springs are great - can pick them up for not much more than $400 delivered. Good option if you can't afford coilovers all in one hit as per me. They work fine with stock shocks. Here's mine:
(3 fingergap front; 2 fingergap rear - perfect for daily driver, not for slammage lol)

That looks neat as. They make a big difference on your car.
How is the comfort compared to stockies? How much was installation in the end?
On another note:
I am heading out to JDMyard tomorrow, hopefully to get some foggies and other goodies.
And today, I restored my headlights, took a bloody long time but it was sure worth it.
I took comparison photos between the left and right when one side was done:
Unpolished Side (Oxidized up the top)

Polished Side (Pictures Don't show it as much, but there is a pretty big improvement)
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...72011346-1.jpg
looks good mate - if you look closely enough you can see the difference.
Install was about $100 from a good friend. I was worried about ride comfort as well, but the ride isn't harsh at all. They're a progressive spring, so comfy around town (not squishy like it used to be bouncing around corners) and they firm up when you drive it with some spirit into some corners, so best of both worlds really. You wont' be disappointed and you know Spoon do their research...
I will eventually get new shocks, but what you would want to do first is get a Pedders check to see how everything is underbody and go from there. My shocks are still good to about 90,000kms (no leaks etc) so I'll change them up when I put a few more kays on the car... but perfect for now :)
Hey ukelele, what did you do to clean your headlights?
I used an Invision (Phillips) Headlight restoration kit.
It comes with all the different grits of sandpaper and the chemicals and polish required to make it look awesome.
(Whatever is in the final UV sealing coat is amazing).
I got mine from Autobahn for about $30.
Really worthwhile!
Meguiars Plastx works quite well too if your not doing it by hand(use a DA, rotory or powerball), you dont need to use sandpaper with it if your only removing oxidized plastic so saves you a fair bit of time, only time i sand headlights is when they are deeply scratched or have damaged clearcoat.
Buckled a wheel so while it's getting fixed i have this hideous space saver on. Tragic.

Got new tyres! Got rid of the worn kumhos. Put on some fresh silverstone evol 8. 205/45/16. Does fantastic for 85$ each
lip back on. will attend to those flaking window bits next
bought 4 x new Honda oil filters; 1 x new petrol filter. Changed oil + oil filter. Petrol filter + airbox clean will have to be for another day...
Checked tyre pressure and pumped fronts back up to 40 with my trusty bike pump (front right outside was wearing slightly more than middle), and left 32 in the back - think I had them pumped too much with middle wearing a little more than the sides.
Oh, and what ever happened to genuine parts made in Japan ? This is the first I've ever seen of genuine parts not being made in Japan. What's the world coming to these days... sigh...
http://i1132.photobucket.com/albums/...s/DSC01145.jpg
AND, I always wanted to modify one of these images you see around on the net sometimes - gave it EM1 wheels and a dark window tint LOL!!! Rear mugen wing went into the too hard basket tho lol.
http://i1132.photobucket.com/albums/...ICSiforum1.jpg
I can remember the change from Japanese made filters to Thailand/Korean made filters being mentioned on OzHonda
Some dealers were selling both.
Changed the oil from motul to castrol, new oil filter, reset ecu, adjusted the base idle and timing.
Modified my boot light to fit a 30 smd led panel, its ******* bright as.
http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/...trys/light.jpg
Fixed my hotspots in my led conversion.
http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/...s/cluster1.jpg
Converted my gear selector to leds, will put pics up tomorrow, need to work out which colours i like and its a bit late to be working on the car and i think ive done enough today lol.
http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/...s/selector.jpg
Ordered my fresh billet style blackworks LCA in red due to my blox ones blowing the bushing (ever since install the bushing's were shithouse)
http://tapatalk.com/mu/012af86d-c647-4850.jpg
Ordered my new OEM facelift bumper as my old one was rooted
kms dont mean much at all from my pov, as long as its been looked after, well serviced, than any vehicle can last 360,000kms, cause thats what our camry is sitting at lol, still goin strong!
yeh i havent seen another one with factory leather, which is making me doubt weather its factory but my aunt(original owner) isnt the type to modify things and supposedly nothing has been changed from factory so dunno.
Mmm... well from what I can find no 96-00 Aus spec Honda came with leather seats:
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...EK-GLi-vs-CXi&
There was however a premium version for the Canadian market, which had the option of factory leather/heated seats. So, either your car is Canadian or they've been re-trimmed I'd say :)
http://i1132.photobucket.com/albums/...0008_large.jpg
http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=200393
lol i dont think my cars canadian and those seats are different to mine, mine are like standard hatch ones but black leather, ill have a chat to the old man when i see him next and find out what the go is, he was quite adamant that it was all stock, he bought it so thought he knew what he was talking about lol, might have been a dealer option to have them retrimmed before delivery or something.
maybe they are just leather seat covers?
Ive had the car apart and they arnt covers, the seats definately been upholstered in leather.
http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMAG0861.jpg
http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMAG0867.jpg
^^ Hmmm... maybe your aunt paid extra to have Honda upholster them in leather. First time I've ever seen that in an EK1 hatch...
thats cool, i want to do it.
anyway, mum put some massive old fence in my hatch and dirt went in my 6x9s and was crunching between the speaker cone and the pillar and it sounded blown, took the 6x9s out, cleaned them out and now my car is bass filled with no crackling again!
all this seat talk reminds me that my rear seats are still out of my car, been like that for 8 days now lol
Yeh im thinking thats probably what would of happened or the dealer may have some upholstery company that does it for them, dunno lol, ill have to speak to the old man and see if he remembers.
Also does anyone know if any Ek's came with a glovebox light? Im thinking of getting/making one for my EK1 as its annoying trying to find crap in there in the dark.
Added some things to my daily EK cause had a few parts lying around from my old EG and also invested in some new parts aswell.
Recaro Reps
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...t/photo-25.jpg
Genuine Shift Boot Cover, Gear Knob and Hand Brake Cover on Plus installed some Cup Holders!
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...t/photo-26.jpg
Put some new Rubber on my White BuddyClub P1 Wheels and mounted them. Had to put 10mm Spacers on the Rears aswell cause the rim was hitting the wishbone.
Dont have any photos yet cause my car is filth so no point in taking photos.
To come is install a light around the cup holder section cause its so freaking dark there at night and might invest in an EK9 Steering wheel.
I think ive made my Daily pretty nice haha :)
I also think i have pretty low KM's on my EK referring to the few last post, got 87kms but i will probs rack a few KM's soon with all the driving i do.
Very nice, i like the red stiching it gives it a nice highlight. Does the cup holder work well? thinking about getting one for my car but wanted to see if they hold a can of coke or a large maccas cup ok.
cup holders are shiet man. maccas cup LARGE fails to sit
Don't know havent used them yet haha there's no way they would hold a large Maccas cup maybe a medium. I just want it to hold my coffee cup every mornin.
Heres my car with the buddyclub rims, will look better when i chuck my pedder springs on and drop it 1.5"
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...t/photo-28.jpg
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...t/photo-27.jpg
LD_Mart - can i ask where you got your recaro reps from?
the cup holders fit maccas medium no problems
Dropped off spare rocker cover to get powder coated :)
^^^ Nice one what colour you getting it powder coated?
Ive got mine off to check my vavle clearence so figured might as well strip the old paint off and polish it lol.
