you can get a hks one off ebay from the states, but shipping is a killer.
I have a custom pressed mild steel one with a stainless tip of my choice, that didn't cost an arm and a leg, and I'm pretty happy with it. but then again, I could've payed over twice that much, and had a full stainless madrel bent one with a cool name brand.
the aussie dollar wasn't quite as good when I bought though so maybe it's a more viable option now ... probably cheaper then a locally built custom mandrel bent one
yoyo, i am gonna buy a b16a. not b16a2/1 or whatever i dunno, dont know much infomation about it. but its a good price and genuine 56,000kms. doesnt come iwth dizzy or anything just a complete engine. what else do i need to finish the setup onto my da9?
-dizzy
-gearbox
-wiring looms
-ecu
-obd0 to obd1 harness
anythign else? thanks.
All 89-93 DA9's have the same curb weight yeah?
According to the Redbook
the 89-91 weighs 1122KG & the 92-93 weighs 1112KG.
Is this true or just a typo on Redbook site?
I wouldn't believe Redbook or even the manual. Mine (89-91 chassis) weighed in at 1060kg with around 10L of fuel, spare tyre, no heater-box or air-con of any description. So ~1075kg might be a fair estimation with no fuel at all.
hey does anyone know where i can pick up a new lip for my da9? in NSW
you dont need to change to obd1 harness. skip this by getting your ecu swapped or chipped. Only go obd1 if you are opening up the engine or adding forced induction eg turbo/nitrous.
I say all this from my own experience from an engine swap and not from what i have read of the internet.
i have same experience and would have to disagree, IMO. the obd1 is a easier ecu to tune and program then the obd0. there is much more flexability with the obd1.
also on that note, in no contrast of making a sale. honestly (i forgot i had it spare). i have a obd0-obd1 conversion harness. real cheap. pm me for more info.
if u look at the standard engine mounts they have holes around where it joins... (yes) u just fill them with sikaflex then leave them in the sun all day and put em in later... this in turn makes them solid rubber mounts like what u see on that website...
can u use the factory b18a dizzy on a b16a?... because b16a dizzys r bs expensive however i mite know where i can get a second hand one...
Otherwise on ebay try find a msd or even a aftermarket dizzy for a b16 i got a MSD coil and rotor cap to replace stock coil for 120 bucks delivered which is a good buy i think....
and wont the g/box be the same as a b18a (if its going in a da9?)
Yes you can but you'll have to grind off one of the attaching legs to make way for the VTEC solenoid.. Then you will still have to bolt it up with only one bolt. It didn't leak for me.
