http://www.nyxracing.com/images/rotanewtarmaccolor.jpg
which colour. want a shiny colour like gunmetal or black chrome, but gold and silverare brighter
too scared to try dark on volcanic greypaint, but silver is too similar to stock and i scared guys will hate the gold
that lsd seller has alot of brands but i dont know half of them. just spent the last 4 hrs trollingfor 19's T.T
Hi guys,
I'm thinking to get Injen CAI or Takeda CAI from ebay, which one should I get?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Taked...0b64aa386#shId
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_4536wt_918
Thanks in advance
Wht type are those? EBay ones?
I'm thinking mugen or eBay ones.
I had mugen on my fd1 before
Yeh im VERY set on Rota boosts. BUT I NEED 19's!! WAHhh :( the design is very simple and basic, theres gotta be brands out there that look similar but in 19s?
so rota Force
http://www.rotaaustralia.com.au/rota...s_p1047186.htm
Rota Gra
http://www.rotaaustralia.com.au/rota...s_p1047234.htm
DPT drift chrome
http://www.rotaaustralia.com.au/rota...s_p1047151.htm
Want Mugen Xj's so badly but the 18's are so expensive. freaken 500 each rim
the legend wheels come close too, what do u guys think http://www.ronjonwheels.com/ronjonim...arge/tsx83.jpg
*edit* i am really loving the legend wheels, especially the raven black machined
5x114.3
19"
8.0"
+32 or +48
64.1
black machine
what size dimensions offset would fit the cu2?
Why not get the rota GTLM..copy of the BBS LM.
god i need to do more research about rim dimensions lol
its a shame, the ROnjon guy emailed me saying that hes not even gunna sell me them because he advises that its not finanicially worth it to ship (i interpreted that as, "My wheels are not of the value or quality to throw that much money into them" lol) he said it would be cheaper to get a importer to share a shipping container and import for me
sounds like a lot of trouble
but yeh, It looks like its down to those rotas or more searching. Anyone here with strong opinions against the quality of rotas? I mean its all forged and stuff right...
try 20 x 9.5 +35 will sit flush with the guards. seen it done
you will need to roll guards and add more negative camber
i've done it once.. :)
its poke not flush LOL

has red suede interior too

when u buy the takeda intake it comes in two parts, so u can mod to make it long down to fog light or just to the air box (for wet seasons), im pretty thats what they say on the site, also injen u can get a discount apparently from heeltoeauto :S , as for warranty i dont kno sorry
EDIT: i just found this not sure if its been posted before, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Acura-2009-20...item4aa7c67303
in regards to short ram or cold air intake, I have spoken to a few dealerships service department and they all said it does not affect warranty. Once you start to play with the headers and so forth then the warranty becomes void.
have a takeda sri intake in mine with the fujitsubo legalis r exhaust.
the sri drowns the sound of the exhaust but adds a nice raw deep tone for daily driving.
i so agree with you about the Ronjon wheels fury. I was very keen on the Legends style too, especially the Liquid Graphite 19". I also emailed them and they gave me the same answer.. that's its too expansive to post here.
But looking at all the other wheels options you have posted, it may only cost ~400 for postage if they put their acts together...
i would have been happy to pay that extra 400 for the Ronjon Legends too...you will probably be the one or only ronjon shod Euro in Oz... shame..
gARGGGGGGHHHHHH! PARKED OUTSIDE MY HOUSE JUST NOW CAUSE I WAS LEAVING SOON AND DIDNT WANNA DEAL WITH SCRAPING DRIVEWAY. BUT MY ROAD IS CURVED AND NICKED THE FRONT BOTTOM OF THE LIP! Oh well touchup paint ftw
also i dont seem to have clearance issue over humps just yet cause been driving over them angled, so i can take my time witrims hehe
ugh,,, that sucks dude,, take ur time with all bump,, learn to love paranoia :D
also i thought i shud share this if it hasnt been up before, since i paid 80$ for OEM, pissed off.. argh!

http://www.rays-msc.com/wheels/img/G2-image4.jpg
oh niceeeee. wat size? and $?
is that nameless CAI worth getting? <$100 CAI is impulse buy for me
lolz at that air filter pricing. might get some before 30k service. can prob sell tou guys if u want it, if i get it
That looks like VR G2. Where did u order from?
Those are sick rims. Love the g2.
Nice find on the cabin air filters! So tempted to stock up for 10 years! ~$11 a filter so tempting.
Was going to try a cheaper non OEM brand from the states (which I've been using for my Jazz with fine results (~$8 a filter) but now undecided.
The no name CAI pipe you might as well DIY (think there's some guide in the DIY section of the forum)! Gains are minimal - more for look factor IMO
Just remove the stock resonator for sound if that's what you're after (I've done it for the previous Accord Euro and there is certainly more roar when you step on the pedal!)
Can't wait to see the new wheels natnat!
wanna split the filters?
with the diy cai, are there any issues with diy vs buying it? i mean its just a pipe with a filter at the end right....
btw i just got a reply from the sller:
"Hi there,
It's for CU2 TSX. It's the replica of Injen cold air intake. You can convert this into shortram intake.
Thanks and Regards,
Mac"
replica?
for the price its tempting... how hard is it to install a Cai?
the vr g2s come in 20inch!!!!
how much are tey?
alternativly...rota boost...the poor mans vr g2
man if i buy rotas + that CAI, im guna have a complete replica euro lol
yo furythree
I dont mind getting a unit or 2 of those cabin filters too
Let me know whats the plan. If you order it , i will split it with ya
Cheers
What noob pays $80 for OEM....bahaha just playing man :P
Haha those vr g2s are pretty sexy...i doubt they're cheap lol...VR rims, e.g. the TE37s aren't cheap lol.
e.g............http://visionr.com.au/component/visi...detail&cid=361 "PRICE LISTED IS PER WHEEL" lol
i'm still considering which rims i might get...still considering the Rota DPTs..
fyi: new bumper installed guys :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJeFB..._order&list=UL
just a short clip showing imitation vs genuine.
Thailand made lenso also did a similar test, see at clip from time 2.50
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msaXqhHK8NA
there is a very extensive debate here:
http://forum.jdmstyletuning.com/show...and-Imitations
ok well for some reason the hole in my pocket just got bigger, soooo when does the mags get hit like that? ...genuine is a bit hexy if ur just going for looks,
where can i get a set of this style for lets say,,, cheap :D .. i dont have connections like u folks
lol i didnt put in the link, http://www.ozzytyres.com.au/wheels/v...era-black-lip/
ok so are rotas considered cheap and dangerous copies or decent quality and safe replicas?
also just got offered these garange 19's for $400
what do you guys think? http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5267/...63b0b704_b.jpg
I like those vertinis Mr Late, but at $330 a wheel. Might as well get those TSW nurburgrings i linked to for $1.4k
I might buy those filters exodus, ill pm you when i get them for my next service next month.
also ive been seriously considering getting the replica injens, a friend of mine said that for CAI/SRI theres no difference between brands, maybe just the pod, but mostly as long as you have a good setup and the pipe is metal and not rubber like OEM, then its good.
Is this true? should i go for it? :P
IMO, cheap wheels do not mean dangerous.
you can buy enkei pf01 or rpf1 from LSD motorsport is ebay, shipped to Aust for around $1300-$1600 shipped.
it depends on what you plan to use the wheels for. for street use and city driving, any wheels will do.
but, if you like to drive spiritedly or plan to track your car, then the risk of failure is higher for imitation than good quality wheels.
but if you drive like a regular camry driver, then you'd be fine.
btw, i had 2 sets TSW wheels in the past and buckled both sets, made it South Africa. hit pothole at 60km/h in the first set back in 1997, and hit the intersection round metal bit on the road at 20km/h.
For me, I just don't like the theory of having a good $35k++ (when new) Japanese car but put some replica/Chinese wheels on it.
Its kinda saying that "I've spend all of my money on the car, so I cant afford an original wheels"
some are happy to spend $800 on 'style' type wheels and $1200 on premium tyres.
some are happy to spend >$3000 on high quality wheels and budget tyres.
many are very happy to spend $1200-$1400 on 18" wheels and tyres sets.
some choose matte black finish for stealth look.
some are eager for bling bling 20" chromie, screaming 'yo, look at me! look at me!!'
form over function, function over form, it's each to his own :)
'look at me yo!'
http://gordonandthewhale.com/wp-cont...2.07.16-PM.png
thanks for the input guys. since i havent really scraped yet with my car (barely driven it...stupid full time work) i think ill take my time. when the time comes that my tyres need changing, ill ask them to test fit higher profile tyres on oem 18s and see how that goes.
im actually more interested in installing a short ram intake. ive been googling all day about it. i still havent found a definitive answer about 4 things:
1) does the resonator actually do anything important - if i remove it, does it improve airflow and let in more pollution?
2) SRI has issues of heat when idle, and is also illegal to have them uncovered (god knows why), so easier to install but have to make a cover for it. furthermore the internets say that when idle and not moving, its sucking in hot air, but people say once u start moving thats not an issue. dont want CAI because i dont want to worry about rain getting in
3) is it a bad idea to remove resonator AND install a SRI? is the air still able to flow efficiently from the front into the airbox? otherwise might as well install a cai
4) do intakes have to be branded? this is the most important question, cause even the noob forums has ppl reccommending getting and el cheapo pipe and fitting an apexi or knN pod. so if theres no issues with that, that means theres no issues in buying a replica intake right
Resonator is to eliminate the unwanted noise (for comfort).
SRI is illegal as it could catch on fire (don't ask me how :p) and insurance will revoke the claim.
I would just go with Injen, trusted brand and exact fit no issues. It'd be AUD$375 shipped from ebay here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/INJEN...Q5fAccessories
Or just buy from JDM Yard for $450 with local warranty.
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...-USA-*JDMyard*
LOL, very true!
back in 1997 and 1999, it was not easy to source good quality JDM wheels at decent prices.. and being a noob i thought Bob Jane was a good shop to buy wheels and i thought TSW had good designs :p
in 1997 i paid $2200 for a set of TSW 16" wheels and Falken Ziex 205 50 16 tyres for my 1996 EK Civic VTI sedan. the wheels were sitting on stock suspension with massive gap to the fender, the rear would rub with 5 people in the car on hard cornering, i could corner at 100km/h at 60km/h zone although floaty, but i thought it looked cool enough :D
this was the car before i changed wheels:
http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5218/...61c8f1ab2d.jpg
in 1999 i paid $2500 for a set of TSW 16" and Goodyear F1 205 50 16 for my 1999 Lancer 1.5Ltr, also sat on stock suspension like a 4WD.
catch on fire? omgwtf so why do people still install them. how do they get away with it?
someone on acurazine removed their resonator, installed KNN drop in filter, and added a custom armlength pvc pipe to the end of the pipe connecting to the drop box, the pipe went where the resonator was
this setup sounds very similar to a CAI, the piping is the same with the exception that the filter is at the airbox and not at the end of the pipe. would this be a good idea? sounds really simple.
I concur :)
@Fury - Or you can get the Injen Intake from HeeltoeAuto for $349.54 AUD with USPS Priority MailŪ International (6-10 days from US) OR $360.89 with USPS Express MailŪ International (5 days from US) if you're really keen on cheaper prices ;) Don't forget to add the coupon "ozhonda" when checking out!!! :D
If you want to know the performance difference with the CAI, I think nesterjester (who's pretty inactive on the forums atm) installed one in his CU2 so just PM him :D
Sorry to sound like a noob :D
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/K-N-AIRFILTER...item563bdd3741
is this the right drop in filter for my euro? it was made late 2010 then imported into australia around feb oO?
I brought my last drop in filter from mikesperformance as well too...:D
LOL...been stalking ozhonda for a good 3years, wait and wait for a new euro to come out 8D
real name is Minh :) a close mate of Suijin aka Vincent LOL
done any mods to it? nah, just wanna keep it standard for now :) i like the way it look, will be looking 2 change the air filter and replace my globes to hids by end of next week :)
id rather blow $360 on amugen wing, why drive faster by +5hp, when i can look faster by 30hp for less :p
ive also been reading this simple Diy icebox
http://tsx.acurazine.com/forums/show...1#post12875419
now this look very good for some odd reason LOL

Looks right (Part Number), but the picture is a bit deceiving...I think it actually looks like the link I will link below (please correct me if I'm wrong).
That's a little exxier than HeelToeAuto

just "jizzed in my pants", thanks defcon
damn thats sexy
just a heads up for anyone thinking of changing brake fluid on their CU2. Be sure to use dot 5 or top shelf brake fluid. I used dot 4 shell fluid and it was rubbish. All this time I thought the stock pads were crap. Not at all, they lasted a whole day of tracking without fading. The fading before was caused by brake fluid that couldn't withstand the heat.
is it me or is it really the front bar on Defcon's car (around the foglights) slightly different?
is that the facelifted TSX/euro?
looks AWESOME!!!!!
