personally id go for the 70RS. sounds so aggressive. makes mine sound like shit.only reason i kept mine cause i got the titanium ver.
who cares what people think. if you spend your whole experience worrying about that, then you'll end up modding your car to what they want, not what you want :(
As far as I know, AU ECUs can't be tuned with a Hondata. Can anyone confirm a Unichip?
Ohhh thats a video of my twinloop :)
But like I've said every time this topic comes up.
You wont hear any noticeable noise difference unless you do a resonator delete.
Thats me speaking through experience. Twinloop barely made a difference.
Got the Varex and thought I would be #YOLOSWAG showoff with my new muffler.
Started it and sounded almost the same as the twinloop which was depressing cause i got my hopes up lol.
@Darktmt
Ask this guy.
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...ighlight=varex
He has the exact same Varex as me for $200. I paid $500 for mine..
We can be twinsiesssssss
Love the varex. Being able to close it at night is very helpful. Especially when i have to wake up at 5am for work.
Doesnt annoy the neighbors.
My cars ALOT louder now. That was just 1 resonator delete. I have a unsilenced B-Pipe now.

I think I've found my next mod...
Black housing headlights!
Anyone ever had problems resealing it after taking it apart?
Heard stories were it wasnt sealed properly and water got in..
http://carbonrevo.com/wp-content/upl...e_R_Style4.jpg
I got facelift headlights for my car. CBf black housing for td chrome black so it's the closet thing for me
Yeah it's darker with a brown tint it's nicer
Lol
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/customa...tar35860_4.gif
want to buy - 12" exhaust
... what
Lol Never noticed. I'll look at my brothers girlfriends FD1 next time.
Can i just get window tint and put it on the headlight?
I did that to my rear lights. Looks mad. People say you shouldnt because
the heat of the lights makes the plastic expand and if i have tint it wont expand and can crack.
I've had the tinted tail lights for little over 1 year and no cracks...
Try and find out the heat specifications for the tint, then get a thermal temperature gun (or anything temperature measuring equipment) and measure the heat on the headlights after having them on for say 15 - 20 minutes to get the right idea of what the operating temperature will be to compare to the tint.
Keep in mind that tint is on cars that sit out in the sun almost all day without any issues which can hit some excruciating temperatures, but the only difference will be is that the tint will be on the outside of your headlights.
Thats what I was thinking. My tail lights are still one piece. No dramas.
I only tinted the brake lights. Was gunna do the whole thing but Didnt like the chrome parts
being tinted
Stock Tail lights... Red like a baboons ass
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...1-12083534.jpg
VS
My Tinted tail lights.
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...5829448_o1.jpg
I had tint taillights , the colur fades http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/27/penavy4u.jpg
Double lay to make it darker
But It fades after in sunlight
dem tinted rears loo kgood
I retrofitted HID projectors into my headlights a few months ago. When I was putting the headlight housing back together, I noticed the original sealant didn't seem adequate enough. So I purchased some new sealant and applied a thin lining across the whole edge, just to be 100% sure there are no gaps. So far so good, no water going in. =] I should have painted the chrome bits black like the picture, but I cbb. ahaha
and Jprak is right, I didn't notice it either, but the facelift FD I got, has a slight brown tint to the headlight (my mechanic was like, did you smoke your headlights too?)
AND
for rear lights, my mate's FD, he just sprayed "nightshade" over his rear lights. It's hella black, but surprisingly the red brake lights still are very visible. Some rule requirement about be able to see the rear lights from about 200m away, and he has no troubles from the police just yet.
@Honda_FD
Yeah im keen for that exact muffler, but located in brisbane..
@jPrak Lol Man... Why is yours so red?!
Looks weird as.. What type of film did you use?
@Sharkchu
I saw your journey when you posted it up.
I found a guy that would do my headlights for $250. Black housing looks cool.
Its different aswell. No one on OzHonda has done it before.
I originally wanted to do NightShade on my rears but decided to tint them so if I
were to get in trouble or anything I can just simply pull off the tint instead of buying
new tail lights.
Ohhh... Ask him if hes willing to send it to you?
On a side note. I put in the rear adjusting collars on my coilovers (Used to have nothing in the rears which is why i got so much low).
Wheels are still tucked but its not rim to guard anymore. Time to make it bit more functional. Stance is going..
No one does it anymore..
With that being said. Anyone selling some fat Sway bars? Preferably in Melbourne
Got a tanabe axle back that I now longer use, will be throwing in a custom 18mm Rsb, will be going cheap !!
Do I need a wheel alignment if I put a Beaks Tie Bar?
Found a blue one. Doesnt look too bad.
Also, does it hang down alot? Cars low enough
nightshades look feral,you will regret
That sti lip for $100?
I wish bro! I saw it this morning and it was marked Sold.
Shattered as bro... I went to OTR to test fit facelifted mugen lip. Looks alright...
Dont know if i want to spend $250 on it though...
I like my tint. NightShade looks like a matte finish.. I like glossy..
@Honda_FD

http://www.stancenation.com/wp-conte...30-640x425.jpg
I hardwired mine into my ignition. No point of throwing the remote controls away..
Defeats the purpose of the Varex if you leave it open constantly.. Lol
Mines always open. I just close it when im coming home so I dont annoy people.
That headunit face is awesome. I love mine. I got a Alpine double din in there.
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...26335320_n.jpg
Anyone know where I can get some quality open ended wheel nuts? its a 4 week wait for project kics at jdmyard lol
my control receiver box fuked up after about 2 years of use (constant). just started to respond really slowly and eventaully not work at all.
they replaced it under warranty out of good grace (i bought from a bad seller)
thank fcuk for that!
hardwiring is easy enough ay, would recommend if the controller breaks
had the honda social meet today ! was good

FD civic's a dying breed...
was the only one there :(
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...97033722_o.jpg
honda_FD, you got the lip and arms didnt ya ;) ;)
Lol Nah bro.
I got the Arms not the lip. Too much of a hassle bringing it over so envoytheguy
Sold it locally. A car as low as mine with fiberglass parts dont go well with each other.
I'll end up breaking the lip within a few weeks.
So now there may be another FD in sydney running around with the same lip as yours..
Looks like you got competitiion
Who's sexy quad tone FD is that? <3
Hey fellas, been doing abit more research on the PWJDM powerchamber intake that Im wanting to get. I found this DIY from the 8th Gen guys stateside.
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/diy-h...er-intake.html
It pretty much raises a few issues:
1- I would require a Flashpro(ECU tune?) in conjuction with this intake. With reference to Stevil's Turboed R18 with a flashpro mentioned in another thread, would it be detremental or just plain unadvisable to run this whale penis intake without a flashpro? If so, is it advisable to run flashpro with it's cost and is it available in Aus at this current time? (as the thread was outdated).
2- Reccomended to have a small heatshield on the small section of hose to protect it from heatsoak from the radiator hose. Is this negligable?
3- Would the Oddyssey Battery which apparently has a lower ampage with a cold start, stop me from performing a jump start on it if I ever run it flat? Dunno if this question even makes sense, lol.
Im totally lost as the more I read, the more Im over my head with expertise.
Might go look up the Gruppe M intake if the PWJDM whale penis has alot more potential issues.
Easy question- Im getting getting new wheels and having a chat with my tyre guy. Asking whats the tyre load rating on my car with 18". But just me or does our tyre placard not have anything more than our stock 17" rim specs? Im referring to the placard on our drivers side door frame, if there is another placard I might have missed?
Inb4 CEL issues thread
Wut
M8
Intake is just an intake, no need for flashpro, no need for heat shield, and Wot do you have oddysey battery? Jump starting won't effect it anyway.
Intake won't give you massively huge Omg gains, so no point needing to do anything except install and enjoy loud ivtecs
If you need a hand just ask in watapps brah

said who? What are you trying to do? Make power or sound? the latter will be more successful. You are not going to make any appreciable power in a hurry while staying NA. Take a look at xenonkuraz's tuning adventure.
Also with regard to the ECU, pick an ECU that someone can tune, not by what the internet says is good.
2- Reccomended to have a small heatshield on the small section of hose to protect it from heatsoak from the radiator hose. Is this negligable?
any headshielding is good. especially with a whale penis breathing in hot air all day
3- Would the Oddyssey Battery which apparently has a lower ampage with a cold start, stop me from performing a jump start on it if I ever run it flat? Dunno if this question even makes sense, lol.
No, a jump start is what you do when the battery doesn't have enough energy to start the car... so you'll be more likely to need a jump.
Im totally lost as the more I read, the more Im over my head with expertise.
Might go look up the Gruppe M intake if the PWJDM whale penis has alot more potential issues.
it's only an intake m8, you are really splitting hairs.

well of course not - the car only ever came with 17's so it won't talk about 18s. Here is some info about what the tyre ratings mean. You're best off getting the same... but generally most tyres are made for the commo/falcons in mind so you'll be right in a light car like the civic
If you want cheap and pretty decent tyres, take a look the achilles ATR sport tyres - the guys at SVS do a pretty good deal there.
Fuark, I did a nub mistake. Someone just pointed out that the PWJDM intakedoesnt fit my FD2. As I thought the USDM SI has a K20Z3 where I have a K202. FML.
BRB, going to the corner of shame and start looking at other intake options.
BTW, anyone got an answer for my tyre load capacity question?
Gruppe M Won't even fit on the k20s, need to mod. Someone did it here on ozhonda. I say not worth it. Just stick to an INJEN
@Harricade
From what I remember, there was a post here that mentioned the tyre load rating had to be >90. Someone had called their insurance company for that. In addition, one inch increase rule applies for diameter, width and track (+/-13 offset)
Hahaha not much point since running stanced wheels is technically illegal anyway
91 Index on a 17", so I presume it's a 92 for 18"?
my tyre guy was like, "Doesnt look like the Australian Design Placard. Have a second look maybe?" Dont remember seeing any other placard. Just thought I'd ask you guys.
I'm still devo about the air intake, cant believe I wasted so much friggin time researching the install of that frigging thing w/o actually double checking the difference between a k20Z2 and K20Z3.
Any suggestions? Simota vs Injen from what I read. Apparently limited in choice for the K20Z2.
Injen CAI won't fit K20Z2's without a RBC mainfold. I have a Simota Carbon Charger Intake, it looks good, but doesn't really have that nice intake sound. I've been thinking about getting K&N Typhoon Intake for the 2012 Civics with K24 engine. The throttle body seems very similar to the K20Z2, but not sure if I want to risk $300 just to see if it'll fit.
Can't do Injen w/o an RBC intake manifold.
So, Im left with Simota. is this what Im looking for? I cant find any other places that sell them.

From an old post back in 2011 by Black8thgen, lol.
FDYOU2 beat me to it. Really no nice intake sound? Even compared to the stock air box?
OH YEAHHHHH

Nearly 6 months of waiting but finally got the front lip from Honda. :D
Modulo kit = complete. :P
