i got dba rotors 4000 series slotted.and ultimate pads on my rear brakes, however gonna go lucas pads for the fronts, def DBA rotors, there slots are good, for DBA4474SL and SR, for front and DBA4475SL and SR for back. if your interested, they are pretty well priced 220rrp but u can get em alot cheaper.
$600 for a DA?! Show us some pics!
here are a few pics,
the car was reversed into on the front left guard with a boat trailor apparently,
hmmm faded paint (doesnt bother me, always wanted to respray the next car i got)
rego runs out on the 18th this month, so i wanna do the brakes, prep for paint, re register the car, wheels, coil overs, paint the car, put my recaros in that have been laying around for 2 years, and eventualy a new motor :)
lil bits and pieces through out the process aswell..
its all about the money tho, so maybe take a year lol
ohh and the guy i baught it off told me it had a lil interior leak under the dash,
i figured i knew the problem, n i was right..
the drains in the guards were completely blocked with leaves n shht..
so thats why i removed the bar n guards..
fk man ur burning i bought my other da for $600 lol. it was mint FKD PAINT... engine needeed a big tune up otherwise it was perfect condition all genuine parts never been in a hit. etc..
well some people get awesome bargins, some dont, 600 bucks tho... makes me kinda depressed to see thats how much theyre worth now a days =( lets see a hectic build thread up and running
fk..600..wot a bargain lol
im happy with $600, the car is mechanicaly A1, and i always planned to re-spray the next car i got, so i wasnt looking for a imac body, i was looking for neat interior and a good engine :)
got what i wanted, the only thin i realy need is a black bottom glove box.. ahahha
some1 on here owns my old DA with Black interior.. gota find him his somewhere in this thread. ask him for the glove box lol
the brake setup would be the same as 90-93 wouldnt it??
yes...
thanks
so these would fit?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT
Yep, all DA from 89-93 have the same brake setup
but with the cost of that plus shipping..i would suggest maybe look at local DBA or RDA Slotted disk..they are pretty good too
having brembo disks is just a bling factor i think lol but its all up to you...they def look good!
ive always wanted the dc2 brembo setup, but i dont have thousands laying around.
they do look good, thats true.. lol
my mechanic has a good hook up with rda, so im waiting on a price from him.
if theres not much difference in price i think ill go with the brembos lol
dc2 don't have brembo setup at least not from factory...and even if you do get them the dc2 style caliper will fit on DA knuckles but you'll have to get special disks made up for it as the offset on the disk will need to be different.
jdm dc5 have brembos
i have dc2r brakes conversion thats pretty much all you need..does cost a bit though...wouldn't recommend it again...
ohh yea my bad, dc5 i meant..
you have the 5 stud conversion dont you?
i was thinking about that also, 5 studs have better wheels lmao..
but if its to expensive i think ill just leave it as it is with slotted rotors and good pads
yeah i got the 5 stud then bought new rotors and pads and hub barring for it...and i did a lazy fit still gotta fix it up to get better camber in the front...
it does cost quite a bit...but that will give you extremely good brake balance...on my first DA i had spoon calipers from dc2r fitted in...excellent braking power however i lock up all the time as the the brake bias is too much and the back can't handle it, hence i did the 5stud this time around...
i wouldn't say you have better wheels with 5studs...there are some nice wheels for 4 studs too...
the 5stud conversion with rims all up was a bit over 2k...was going to go back to 4 stud..but i'll just loose too much money...
hey any one got a bonnet for a da,
preferably gun metal grey but if not dont matter,
also are series 1 and 2 bonnets diff??
basically working on getting the engine cooler, like that stuffs going, gonna try coating the extractors, ive got a thermal gasket inbetween intake head
im running mugen thermostat and fan switch,
but yeh thinkin of some sort grill change to the bonnet maybe.. but yeh if i can get a cheap bonnet ill experiment with this
yea wow, just over 2k??
ill stick with the 4 studs.. lol
anwyays, i got a quote back from my mechanic
4 rotors came to almost $600!!!
so i ordered the brembos from the states,
smart me, i read the sale after ive paid, and came to the conclusion that they are not brembos, (well i dont think they are) lol
ahhh well, ill see in a couple of days, when i get them,, or if i get them
are they cross drilled and slotted? off ebay?
if so there brembo rotors however there brembo BLANK rotors, the company you buy them off simply put the cross drilled and slots into them. ive seen them in person they seem to b fine and they look good to
yea, theire these ones

anyone know what would be needed to replace my b16 block with a h22a block in a da? engine mounts im presuming being a h series, but what about other things with the engine fitment?
im also interested and how much it would cost
http://www.g2ic.com/tegtips/interior/15.html
1st go to Honda and order qty 8 of part number 91608-SJ6-003. It is a small white rubber seal. They cost about $ 2.50 each 2nd remove the wiper arms and the wiper motor cowl. The wiper cowl is the long black panel under the wiper arms. Pop out the black circles and unscrew the white clips. You may also have to pull out the plastic pins under the rubber seal on the firewall side of the cowl. The panel is cumbersome. Use caution not to break the ends near the hood hinges. After you remove the cover there is another black cowl on the passenger side. This cowl covers the passenger cabin air intake. The leak is coming from the black plastic push screws that hold that cover on. When you remove the cover you can see the seals in the holes that the push screws were in. The rubber seal dry-rots over time and the sides split open. Water leaks in one drop at a time and adds up quickly. Once you have replaced the seals you should be leak free for another 9-10 years.
im thinking about wrecking my Da9, just wondering how many people need parts to see if its wortyh wrecking..
manual 89
ah damm i wud of been interested in gearbox but u got a diff one nvm
rage, ive got a b18a block with manual gear box sitting at home, been sitting there for a while, pm me if your interested
found this guys
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....:WNARL:AU:1123
yea, ive found another Da9 that i like, so im thinking of just getting rid of this one and picking the other one up?
anyone interested?
Just had to share this, although not quite a DA...
http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...d=11C603585457
If I was in Qld I would love to buy it, bargain for the price I reckon. Maybe if it is still for sale in a couple of weeks when i could get up there.
yea you can, as the other post by Jon 51 explains how to get under the cowl, but if it is majorly blocked like mine were, you'll have to remove the guards to clean all the crap out of the drains, or unless you get a metal coat hanger and just keep poking at it while having the hose running, lol
i also changed my rubber seals after reading the post by Jon 51, 8 seals cost me $25.30, but i realised you need another 3 for the driver side also..
hopefully it'll fix our problems
did you get rotors yet? if you did how were they?
also, ive got itr rotors on the front of my da and they are going to need changing soon, does this mean i have to redrill them to 4 stud? or is that a separate part to the actual rotor? (sorry for n00b question)
hey LoOse3r, how is the sunroof that we put in??
did it fix the leaking problem?
already done buddy lol.

Hey jeff, did you have any problems removing the rotor screws that hold the rotor in while changing your discs? Ive stripped the screws on my rear rotors and having trouble getting them out :(
A lot of hard work. Not an ideal engine to be transplanted into the DA (or Civic for that matter) unless you want to go drag racing (that is, in a straight line). I won't go into all the reasons, you can read about that on the web. But you have to get your suspension right, for a start. You also need engine mounts from someone like Hasport. There is a book by Aaron Bonk (yes, that's his real name  ) that details all Honda engine swaps and what you need to do them, and this book is available online (if you know what I mean). Do a search.
Regarding the cross-drilled and slotted rotors, I personally believe these to be a waste of money that could be spent elsewhere to improve your car. They have the show appeal (bling factor, I suppose) but drilled rotors have been known to crack between the holes under stress especially if not done correctly. Slotted aren't too bad but you could get slotted front rotors here for much less. And don't forget there are OEM solutions for bigger brakes, you just need to do some research and reading, and plan accordingly. What about Type R calipers and brake lines for $50 (used) and front discs for $15 apiece. You have to get the discs redrilled to 4 x 100 but that is cheap and easy. So I'm saying a full Type R front setup for about $150. Look through the DBA catalog, the Bendix pad catalog online and GOOGLE U.S. based websites - there's a ton of info. If you cross-reference part numbers you'll see there is more than one model in the Honda lineup that uses Type R brakes.
There are even ways of getting a 5 stud conversion for about half what people are charging here for ITR kits. What I'm saying is don't just jump in and throw money away when a bit of research will surprise you in what you can do with your Honda (DA).

Better still (and it works for me all the time) is to use an appropriately sized Phillips head drill bit and put it in a half inch socket adapter, and use a torque wrench. Carefully leverage the bit and slowly ease the grub screw out. Some WD-40 won't hurt either.
Peter
lol intake headers exhaust = i/h/e
and..... http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80110
your wish has been granted lol
Depends on where you get it done. Anywhere from a few beers to $100. The trick is finding someone who knows what they are doing and does the job properly, alignment wise. You need a template like a hub that you can reverse and lay on the new hub, mark the holes carefully, well spaced from original holes, and redrill slowly. An engineering workshop is a good start.

if i wouldve known that the type R brakes were so cheap i probably wouldve gone with them, but i needed new pads and rottors asap, so i found these for au$360.00 delivered.
i got a quote here just for rotors and they alsmot came to $600, so thought $360 was a good deal n cheap.
I'm looking to get rid of my spare parts DA to make room for a DC2 project. (don't worry i'm not getting rid of my daily driver DA! haha) it's got a fully functioning b18a in it if anyone is interested?
found this. not a fan but it will prob go cheap
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Honda-Integra...item3efe645934
forster is 1 and a half hour drive.. i dout it will go cheap with a new motor.
i really like the colour of that car but WRONG CHOICE OF RIMS lol. and it needs 2 b dropped lol
hey guys, im looking for braided lines, i found a brand called HEL,
however they dont make lines for the da however they do make for
Honda Civic CRX (Discs) 91-95
Honda Civic 96-02 (Discs)
Honda Integra DC2 Type-R
which wud fit better?
thanks
Hey guys, my account is screwed up but I'm parting out a whole DA. If you want anything let me know.
I bought another DA, to make one super MANUAL and not hail damaged DA :)
just let me know.. i've got a whole interior, a dash, an engine, an auto transmission, a moon roof, a couple of panels (hail damage), tinted windows, a set of wheels, headlights, seats, and whatever other bits.
had them laying around in the garage,
but im sure you can find them in bunnings, just take 1 screw with you to match the thrad and width, the ones i replaced them with are slighly longer, but has no effect on anything
i personaly dont think the screws are necessary tho, on nissans there are none, the wheel hold them into place, but then again it is a different car.
selling my angel eyes, take a look in the 'parts for sale' section.
whats moon roof?
aka sunroof lol
P.S anyone looking for some OEM da9 parts
I got :
1. Passenger side door burgundy complete with trims switches glass etc
2. OEM headlights in good nick with globes
3. Automatic cluster complete
Anyone got an aftermarket front lip they are willing to sell? I'm in ACT so I'm willing to pay cost for postage. And I'll pay extra if it's already (rio?) red :)
I also have a whole car of parts in front of my garage so if anyone needs parts and has a front lip I'll do swaps too. :)
if only u were in syd >.<
like i said i can pay for postage if it's not outrageous. oh yeah i should probably mention that i have a series 1 front bumper.
hey Chriskoss what wheels do you have on your car?
i need a passenger door window switch, mines blown :S
15'' black rims, not sure of name they look like starcorp 5's though
p.s that da9 in my avatar isnt mine if thats why u were asking
