17" so cute in civic, it needs something bigger :D
Addition: After i posted this morning i went out and bought a new wing. I was realli lucky to find this one that actually fitted. Its currently NOT PAINTED...so yeh..its meant to be white.
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a68...IMG_1062-1.jpg
nice~but i think Mugen style should be better than this, just my personal opinion~ ho
wow.........some are starting to look the part now.
With the white one you might want to opt of a mat black rear wing.........it does suite the colour of your wheels if you go black rear wing.
friday night around 2ish...i saw this mad modded up black 06 civic cruising around the doncaster area in melbourne...azn driver...just wanna say i love ur car...and lets meet up so we can talk about it...lol....and yes i was the idiot revvin my car :)
well this is how i want my car to end up..
I saw a replica fog light set on ebay, quite cheap~ woo

Guys, anyone know is there any other bodykit available beside mugen (not the custom made one though)? Also, what % is factory window tint?
will Hid' viod warranty? anyone can confirm?..even if it does..its just affects the lighting section right??...
Btw wats the size for the civic?
Denot: as i know, Singapore can apply 2 other different bodykit for civic, but have no idea here or not
ozR18:HID won't be viod warranty i think, coz some of frd includ myself using HID now. and the size is 9006
btw, what do you guys think about this?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HONDA-CIVIC-D...QQcmdZViewItem
You can get 4 of the same thing without the "civic" words for $50 at Repco. lol...not worth it imoQuote:
it was dark so i couldn't really see much...it had a phat body kit...and a massive gt wing...mmm stickers on the side of the door...i think it still had hub caps lol....could hear the muffler...that's all i can remember...but it looked wider than your average civic lol
ho ho...i like them door light up guard thangs....but i already got the ones that honda gave me...so im cool with that!
I dunno...Fink so..i fink they're universal fit but they dont light up as i checked. LOL..i didnt call you Imo..i said (I)n (M)y (O)pinion....I dont imo is even a word as such..hahahahaQuote:
thanks Jo_e, btw will it fit in the new civic?
PS: wow, somebody called me "imo" =S
I spoke to the people at honda and they say if you install HID then the warranty doesn't cover anything (VOIDED) that has been caused by the installation of the HID lights... (basically like electrical problems) but the warranty is still good for all the other stuff that has NOTHING to do with the installation of the HID lights.
There's no definitive yes/no answer (at least from a legal perspective) but chances are, if you came up with some hugely expensive/lengthy/time consuming problem, then they'll use that line on you so that they aren't liable to help you fix it (at least not for free)- but I'm inclined to think that for the sake of upholding their reputation, they'll help you out provided it's not unreasonable. This is of course subjective.
Finally got my grille installed (I know I'm slow jo_e) and noticed there's a huge gap between the top and the bonnet.
But after reviewing the official mugen grille in JDM Concept, it's apparent there's a gap there too. Only difference is it's painted black (whereas rest of grille matches car colour) so it's not so obvious;

Anyway, I've uploaded a few pics:
http://picasaweb.google.com/jace.88/07JACE888Stage15
Yet to spray mine, but am planning to get it sprayed asap.
look nice, i will get mine mugen style front grill next mth, with painted already, hope it look great as well, hoho
PS: To install this grill, do u need to take off the front bumper?
thx, bro, i will take a look later, and find out how small it is,hehe
it's quite easy to do the grill
when i installed my HID, i did accidentally uninstall my grill too so yeah it's not that hard.
:D
Sounds great~yeah
Not sure if this is a silly question or not, but here goes :P
Is there a different back bumper bar besides the original Honda one?
JaCe - How long did the ordering/deilvery take for your grille? Looks nice buddy, you've convienced me to wanting to get one :)
I know you guys say it's easy to install, but is that easy for people who are familar with car maintainence? I've only lifted the bonnet of the car and nothing else :P
dude!! that's fully sick yo! what do u guys reckon of angel eyes with HID's? or just HID's? what's the way to go?
I'm in Malaysia atm and have seen a lot of cars with modified grille- by painting it same colour as car and letting it blend in, it looks VERY VERY SPORTY (refer to the official mugen civic pictures and you'll see what i mean). The main reason I didn't paint it yet is because I'm looking at other grilles here in Malaysia/Singapore for the Civic.
As for installation, took me a very long time because of stupid complications;
eg. Didn't have a small enough screwdriver to fit in hole, couldn't get the pop-screw (not sure what proper term is; but they are the screws which Honda uses which don't need a screwdriver to be removed), etc...
If you're lucky you could probably do it in <30mins, but for me, I couldn't get the pop screws to come out. Some ppl just damage the screws on purpose because it's easier and you won't be using them again after switching grille anyway, but I wanted to be able to install my original Honda grille in perfect condition so I did it without damaging the screws but taking a whole lot more effort (Note of irony: I did it without damaging the screw, only for 2 of them to fall down and get lost somewhere in the bay...)
Also note- this was my first time opening up my car. Quite daunting actually. I've never been any good at DIY stuff either.
Warning about the grille: with the parts you get with it, it's not very strong at the bottom (at least not in my replica grille). There's a hole for you to affix a screw at the bottom to the bumper (using the original Honda grille's slot) but you need to use your own screw and I haven't gotten round to doing that since I came overseas. I think that will make it very stable- if you live nearby (Sydney) then you're more than welcome to check it out whenever we're both free.
As for delivery and so on... took less than a fortnight from the time I transferred money via Paypal. Quality is alright, but probably not as good as original Mugen part.
Hope this helps
jeff.
ps. Jo_E also has this grille installed on his car, but his is colour-coded so it looks very good. He also installed his own mesh.
EDIT: Forgot answer your question about the rear bumper bar... in the Mugen/Modulo kits, it's just an underspoiler. Have yet to see any aftermarket ones here in Singapore/Malaysia- just a lot of Mugen kits.
Btw just to add something (this connection very slow so can't be bothered waiting for edit); the difficult bit is removing the SILVER CHROME section (with the huge H badge) from the car because of the upside down pop-screws. If you removed the bumper, I'd imagine this job would be CONSIDERABLY EASIER since the screws could be upright... or you'd be able to see them at least.
LOL...some people...meaning me aye? well, just for ur info, i put back the original grille without a problem even without the screws coz its held on by the top bumper guard. I found there are alot of unesscary parts in the civic...not to say to remove everything, but yeh..EVEN if you break the screws you can get new ones from honda :D as you have done.Quote:

Btw, please return the small screwdriver i lent you asap. Gf'z dad needs it back =P
hoho, i will install my aftermarket grill soon as well, as u said, take off the bumper may easier to install it, hoho
LOL. I wonder if those 4 screws help keep it from rattlin at highe speeds? I wouldn't be surprised if it might be related to the structural rigidity (ie. safety!) of the car... *shrugs*
As for screwdriver- sorry forgot to give it back before I left. Will return it on Monday (when I get back) if you're around.
Alotta people with nice civics now. Thought I take a lil break here with some photos that might 'inspire' people with their mods.
Honda Civic Type R Offical Photo:

Really like the concept except the front red nose. I think Mugen has a better design for the grille.
Another shot of the Type-R:

Some singaporean guy's civic with instruments! :D Even though im not sure what they're for they look freakin awesome. hahaha

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a68...1051109835.jpg
what happen for the tape of the last shot?
I think the guy was just too excited with the kit and put it on with tape first?..=S i dunno..lol 'mugen-happy'Quote:
what happen for the tape of the last shot?
I will get my mugen kit very soon, but now thinking get rid of instead the replica one, coz much cheaper and the rest of $$ i can do more mod later
is that a pic of Oz Civic Type R or is it the American one?
Got my front grill just now, may install it tonight, can't wait~
1. That's a replica kit which is prob why not clip on so easily? I'm basing this on the missing Mugen badge off the rear wing on the right. There are A LOT of Mugen Civics here and I'd say around 50:50 are original:replica.
2. Just FYI, Civic FD1 Mugen Kit (official, painted, shipped from Japan) incl. front underspoiler, rear under, side skirts and rear wing costs $3800sgd + approx $700sgd shipping to Australia; which equates to $4500sgd (according to XE.com, around $3711aud).
3. The gauges look stupid IMO. All he's done is duplicate everything else; and IIRC, there's no manual model offered here in Singapore so why bother with all the guages? Also note that (upon closer inspection), that's the 2.0L with paddle shift.
gauges are prob oil temp, oil pressure, RPM,
looks pretti good imo
where did you guys get your replica grilles from? ebay? and is the quality any good?
ordered from SG, quality just fine, i will take photo once i done it
Well you dont really need double sided tape coz im not a big fan of tape on cars. You can if you want but the original upper clips should be fine just to hold it in. If you realli realli love the grille and never wanna replace it ever agen and want to stabilize it permanently use acralite or how ever you spell it.
Just double sided tape tends to melt in the oz sun esp in summer.
PS. SG *** Styling parts...not recommended. Their goods are somewat dodgy imo. You will most likely find a huge gap between the bonnet and the grille and that the grille will not be a perfect fit. Tell us how it goes. =]
Me, Jace and it seems Dyljoy got it from SG car styling...but refer to above post, really not recommended. I've had sh*tloads of problems with mine. Ebay there is a guy from taiwan selling for around the same price. Type "06 civic" and it should be there. Never tried it but could be better?
