Not sure if this is a silly question or not, but here goes :P

Is there a different back bumper bar besides the original Honda one?

JaCe - How long did the ordering/deilvery take for your grille? Looks nice buddy, you've convienced me to wanting to get one

I know you guys say it's easy to install, but is that easy for people who are familar with car maintainence? I've only lifted the bonnet of the car and nothing else :P

I think it might look better as it is? Kinda takes away the effect if you blend it in by painting it black. Thats what I think anyways

I'm in Malaysia atm and have seen a lot of cars with modified grille- by painting it same colour as car and letting it blend in, it looks VERY VERY SPORTY (refer to the official mugen civic pictures and you'll see what i mean). The main reason I didn't paint it yet is because I'm looking at other grilles here in Malaysia/Singapore for the Civic.

    As for installation, took me a very long time because of stupid complications;
eg. Didn't have a small enough screwdriver to fit in hole, couldn't get the pop-screw (not sure what proper term is; but they are the screws which Honda uses which don't need a screwdriver to be removed), etc...

If you're lucky you could probably do it in <30mins, but for me, I couldn't get the pop screws to come out. Some ppl just damage the screws on purpose because it's easier and you won't be using them again after switching grille anyway, but I wanted to be able to install my original Honda grille in perfect condition so I did it without damaging the screws but taking a whole lot more effort (Note of irony: I did it without damaging the screw, only for 2 of them to fall down and get lost somewhere in the bay...)

Also note- this was my first time opening up my car. Quite daunting actually. I've never been any good at DIY stuff either.

Warning about the grille: with the parts you get with it, it's not very strong at the bottom (at least not in my replica grille). There's a hole for you to affix a screw at the bottom to the bumper (using the original Honda grille's slot) but you need to use your own screw and I haven't gotten round to doing that since I came overseas. I think that will make it very stable- if you live nearby (Sydney) then you're more than welcome to check it out whenever we're both free.

As for delivery and so on... took less than a fortnight from the time I transferred money via Paypal. Quality is alright, but probably not as good as original Mugen part.

    Hope this helps
    jeff.
ps. Jo_E also has this grille installed on his car, but his is colour-coded so it looks very good. He also installed his own mesh.

EDIT: Forgot answer your question about the rear bumper bar... in the Mugen/Modulo kits, it's just an underspoiler. Have yet to see any aftermarket ones here in Singapore/Malaysia- just a lot of Mugen kits.

Btw just to add something (this connection very slow so can't be bothered waiting for edit); the difficult bit is removing the SILVER CHROME section (with the huge H badge) from the car because of the upside down pop-screws. If you removed the bumper, I'd imagine this job would be CONSIDERABLY EASIER since the screws could be upright... or you'd be able to see them at least.

LOL...some people...meaning me aye? well, just for ur info, i put back the original grille without a problem even without the screws coz its held on by the top bumper guard. I found there are alot of unesscary parts in the civic...not to say to remove everything, but yeh..EVEN if you break the screws you can get new ones from honda as you have done.

Btw, please return the small screwdriver i lent you asap. Gf'z dad needs it back =P

LOL. I wonder if those 4 screws help keep it from rattlin at highe speeds? I wouldn't be surprised if it might be related to the structural rigidity (ie. safety!) of the car... *shrugs*

As for screwdriver- sorry forgot to give it back before I left. Will return it on Monday (when I get back) if you're around.

Alotta people with nice civics now. Thought I take a lil break here with some photos that might 'inspire' people with their mods.

Honda Civic Type R Offical Photo:

Really like the concept except the front red nose. I think Mugen has a better design for the grille.
    Another shot of the Type-R:

Some singaporean guy's civic with instruments! Even though im not sure what they're for they look freakin awesome. hahaha

Sorry to the owner i dont knw your name.
