god dammit ! ! !
Wish shannons would insure me >_< but they wont insure people under the age of 25
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :(
^ they do...you just need to pay an age excess if you make a claim...
Hmmm mayb ill try and chase things up with them again. Last time i called the guy i was talking to asked my age and when i told him my age he said sorry we dont insure people under the age of 25. Mayb if i talk to someone else they might b more helpful because the last person i talked to was not very helpful or informative at all.
cheers dude
If ur still keen on swapping headlights im ready when u are :D
shannons is funny, u talk to different people and u'll get different answer and quotes.
anyway try to ring up again and try your luck. let them know u're a car nut and they would be more willing to help. when i was getting insurance for the 1st time, i spent 20mins taking about motorsport and cars with them.
also joining some car clubs will help too.
nps thanx guys ill try that ( b a car nut on the phone ) and see how that goes :D
hey guys need your opinion
what you guys reckon 16" te37 on the ep3??
anyone got pics of a ep3 with 16"??
Cheers Steven
shouldnt go under 17'' for ep3 r....
but they soooo cheappp >_< $400 =P
Never hear anyone go down size their rims......17 is recommand size for EP3......
Theres no issues with running 16's on the EP. The fact that it is the same car (chssis) as the AUDM ITR and they run 16's.
Have a look at the pic on page 214. I have my ITR 16's on there! ;D
EP3 r already have some traction issue's with there oem 17'' wheel and you have to 16'' good luck..
all i know is smaller size = more wheel spin!!
if you really want 16'' and still want ok traction 16'' 7'' wide!
Coz the oem is 17'' 7'' wide!
just my 2 cent if you planing to get new rims for your godly JDM EP3 R get wheels that is 7.5''-8'' on 17''-18'' wheel if not just get wider rubber for your oem wheels.
yeah just no point of down grade!!
guys dont to take my words is just IMO thats all.
err i may a noob but i fail to see how going to 16s will induce more wheel spin.
as long as the tyres size compensate the reduced wheel size (ie. fitting higher profile tyres), there shouldn't be any problem.
I run 16's with cheap tyres and have done a 13.6 down the quarter. You telling me if I put on my 17" rims, I'd do a better time?? Dont think so!!
"Traction" is usually down to the type of tyre. It really has no relevance when it comes to wheel size as such, just which type or tyre and wheel to suit your application.....eg, drags, track, rally etc.....
Obviously wider the better, no one will argue with that. Just comparing for CTR and ITR, 205/45/17 and 205/55/16....no right biggy there.
Realistically, for looks, you'd go 18's. But I like my OEM/USDM look and prefer smaller wheels. Thats just me!
walau sorry to cause an argument lolol yeah i saw the one on CLUBITR not a fan of it black ive already had my black rolla im looking at white now has to be white lolol i think ill just get them and throw them on see how it is i think im more concerned about how it will look more then performance wise it will be roughly the same if not better like the other guys say its about the width of the tire and the actual tread of the tire and how well it grips thanks for the comments guys will keep you posted ;)
Hey guys, wheres user "bblt". Haven't seen him for a while?
he's around hahaha ur talking bout the one with alot of questions?
I have 3" from header back with 3" cat. So loud....even with centre muffler and rear muffler. I have now taken out the centre muffler and using the stock muffler to kill the noise. Have seperate staight through for drags.
Honestly guys, unless you're gonna do cams, itb's etc.....dont bother, 2.5 is more than enough and 10x's quiter.
yeh got a fujita CAI already..
yeah than i just get some carbing 4 pts lower bar better!
yeah i got Spoon ETD install last nite, Is really cool ,can feel the engine movement and stuff..
take off from the line is much better than before it just dont want wheel spin...just dont try to hard(dropping the clutch) or the wheel will hop like bunny..
axle tramping is the worst :S i hate it
Good mounts and sussy will reduce it. But yeah, really sucks!
my ep3 is going so the parts are too
have a look http://forums.clubitr.com.au/showthread.php?t=5910
spotted a CW EP3 at the lights of pinelanes road and hellawell road at 5:15pm Saturday.
a dude was driving with a chick on the front seat. anyone here?
Hey guys, I know i should read before i ask this q but cbf reading the previous 216 pages :p Whats the downside/regrets/bad things about your Ep3's, im getting on it the next couple weeks and i just want to know what to look out for when i get it
Cheers
Rob
downside is availablity of parts but that's the price you pay for imports. but many parts are shared with other Hondas so it's not too bad.
so far i have no regrets. my car has been running strong and pretty cheap to run.
bad thing is not a lot of street cred due to the look. you either love it or hate it.
^ e.g. if you have an accident...gl with getting replacement body parts...everything will need to be imported from japan...this seems to be the case even for the windshield as well (apparently it's wider than the windscreen for the EU civic)
also because they weren't as popular as the DC2 or DC5 in japan...all the EP3 specific parts are a bit more expensive...
fuel consumption is pretty good...providing you don't drive like a maniac...somewhere around 9.5-10L/100km
are there any variations throught its life, apart from bodykits?
you mean between facelifted and non-facelifted?
exterior - headlights (projector), front bumper and rear lights
interior - seat colour (from full red to black/red), maybe other minor bits
performance - apparently different flywheel (not 100% sure) and retuned suspension to reduce understeer.
^ correct...
lighter flywheel in the FL version
yeah but the FL flywheel/clutch is a pain for street driving....
really? i don't find it too bad... :)
How do u all find the 6 speed box?
oops flywheel i mean hehe.
whats the size for the stock ep3 exhaust just wondering? 2.25 im assuming
If u can go see if anyone has 1 and test drive 1 :) For me after i test drove 1 i fell inlove :o:o:o:o:o:o
But parts are a big pain in the bum. Im currently trying to source a windscreen and im going to have to get it from japan and with the australian dollar the way it is its going to kill me :( but thats the cost of owning a import. I have no regrets though :)
hehe...i know...couldn't help pointing it out...
hmm...i have no problems with stalling...so no biggie for me...even if i got a pre-FL one i would've changed the flywheel anyway... :)
but yep...gearbox is great...i gave an ep3 with a short shifter a go and tbh it didn't feel any different...
bblt you PM'd me couple weeks back about your ep3 or somthing i replied but you never replied back... :( then i just saw your car for sale on firesport then taken down again... :(
whats the deal?? lol
http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars...3&l=du&trecs=2
This is the one ill prob get, if i can get it to 22 ill b happy, nething lower then that is a steal :p it lands late this week and ill test drive that particular one when its complienced :) have driven one b4 and i love it especially the shifter position, i dont want to do 2 much work on it so I/H/E and some sussy work should be ample, but im a sucker for QTB's :p
thanks for posting that up rpm_boy
looks like a clean car..
i contacted the dealer and he said $24k is what hes after ..
so i deposited $1000 to hold the car whe it lands. and pending inspection i will buy it..
hahaha syke rob! LOL
so u 2 are fighting over the same car?? LOL
in all of my previous manual car, i can release the clutch to fiction point add a little throttle and go. with EP3, i have to rev it up before releasing the clutch to avoid stalling. i guess that's the con for quick reving high redline car.
yeah no point for quick shift, it's already quick enough.
yeah but i dun put a lot of kays and this can be annoying as i have to pay attention at take off. not fun sitting in traffic jams.
LOL...nothing more embarrassing that stalling on a hill during peak hour traffic! :p
woot??!!
Jdm Ep3 R is So easy to drive!! better not be any 1st car coz you wont able to drive older cars, well i drove my dad 99' Civic vti-r(em1) after driving the EP3 for less than 1/2 year ,that em1 is so to hard for me to get used to it
like i have issue taking off and stuff.
[QUOTE=rpm boy;2174520]http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars...3&l=du&trecs=2
I wouldnt get a EP3 unless it had log books, and the electronic scanner that they usually come with to say that these low kms are genuine. Before i purchased mine i had a look at a couple which were around the 40xxxkm mark, some of them were in poor condition.
So if ur planning on buying a EP3 make sure u get what u pay for, and try to get one with logbooks to prove that they are genuine kms. I purchased my car with a 75kms and i got what i paid for, at the end of the day atleast i knew they were genuine kms and not wound back like most of them on the market. Thought ill give u a heads up =)
[QUOTE=bbds;2175812]I totally agree, its not about kms....its about condition. Check a few cars out remember you get what you pay for. Don't cheap out on one with "low kms". Explore the market and arrange to drive a few EP3s for sale for example from private sellers as well.
Hope you find the one that suits you :)
[QUOTE=stoj19;2175876]i always go on the assumption thatevery import has the clock wound back :p terrible to say but its a common trade when they go to the auctions in japan... im going to go and drive it first and negotiate then leave so i dont look desperate, then come back again with a mechanic to c every little thing wrong with it and use it a leverage for bargenning, at the end of the day i know they have to make there money but ill try keep as much as mine as i can :) ... anoher thing, the EP3's arnt drive by wire are they?... cause that would suck
i believe most of the dodgy kays are done AFTER getting the car at Jp auctions.
usually the kays on the auction paper is reliable. if they're suspicous, they will note it on the paper.
EP3s are not drive by wire. what's wrong with DBW tho?
