Yeah, I went to IMG today and there was 3 EP3's. 2 JDM and 1 UKDM the UKDM might be selling around 23K Gavin said...
Had both gruppem and cai. Not as much difference as you think!
Theres about 2 or so kw mid range less with cai but theres about 2kw above 8K so realistically, CAI is good for top end power without losing much in the mid area.
And yes, thats on the dyno!
UKDM i'd assume.
lol im getting the JDM one for 24 :p rip off for the ukdm one imo
yep from gavin at IMG, Great place although the r35's there look awful tempting
you buy performance cars and fuel economy is a major concern???
re mods, spend around $1k for a ECU reflash and you get 40ps & 50nm (at fly). $1k can't even get you a Gruppe M CAI for EP3 at the current exchange rate....
service cost might be more expensive but interval is longer (15000 km vs 10000km).
anyway the mk5 GTI might be over your budget by around $5k but it's a great car. not saying EP3 isn't great. as i said i love both for different reasons.
haha Super Autobacs is ok. the car park and the small dealer next door are even better!!
Yeah, the UKDM one is going for around 23K and JDM ones are going for 25-26K from IMG.
yeah true i did hear that there isnt much difference with the 2 but in the end its about personal preference depends on what you want really i want the gruppeM full stop. lol thats just me i had a cai in the past so this is a change also with refrences to dynos and such for gains and no gains its hard to compare also unless its been dynoed within the day short periord because remember that every dyno is different every day is different taking into account the outside temp, oils, tyre pressures, tyre tread left so on so on but yeah if i were you wait up and get a gruppeM *to EP3EVA *
thats my 2 cents on it
Steven.
I'm gonna go with Mugen intake hehehehe :p
yeah mugen one good also i was thinking about getting a mugen replica grille any thoughts?
can you in 5th gear when the car is off?
anyone heard any info on ARC intakes on the ep3?
The ARC looks great, thats all I know about it. Sorry
anyway heard info abot the Password JDM ones aswell?

Define performance car ! :p i understand what your saying, but compare an EP3 to a ferrari or r35 GTR and its a shopping car :) but im getting 13-15 litres per hundred (boost, what do u expect) so fuel is a major consideration in the buying process and unless your doing "spirited driving" above 5500rpm the fuel consumption is good :) but i guess you could call it a sliding scale more performance more fuel etc on which the EP3 is in the good side of the scale
As for the Golf, most of my past time is working on cars (i grew up in a servo, and past experiences have detered me from the Vw's BMW's and Audi's of the world which is comming from a servicing/fixing part of view cause they go like a bat hot of hell, its just little things that i think about that turn me off that other people dont really think about. That and i will never buy a turbo again....too many things that can go wrong
OOOOO i like that, thanks for the reply, there quote system is down atm so ill ring them up and c what they give me :)
i'd think EP3 and GTI are in the same market. similar size, hatchback, around 40k (3dr) etc etc. so we're comparing apple with apple here.
13-15L/100km?? that's higher than what i get from the GTI (average 11L/100km). but i'm on about 9-10L/100km on the EP3 so i guess you have more fun than me :p
Yeah I rekcon it looks awesome and for the price, it is cheap! But I just want to hear some reviews on it. Noise wise and performance
Yeah EP3s are very fuel efficient, thanks to the K20A  Just don't go vtec'ing too often :p
Hoe much do u have to cut with the group m Kit?
Hey guys/girls might be getting an EP3R at the end of the year. Just a question for you guys/girls, importers cant import the Facelift model for us?
Just got a reply back from Carizma in Melbourne today and they said can't import them. I've seen facelifts here before though....unless they are private imports....
only thing u gotta cut, from memory, is the rubber that goes across the black plastic (the crowl) on the bottom of ur windscreen.
ahhhhh fuel receipt........2 Buck petrol in HK when i was back a month ago -_-! So lads what are the recommended importers of facelift EP3R's besides GTA?
So whats with the UKDM EP3's being cheaper than the JDM's? How much would an 04 CTR EP3 in Grey be worth here from the UKDM? Cant be many grey ones in the country?!
whereabout are you from? i'd suggest speaking to IMG if you're in sydney...it's definitely BS that you can't import the FL one (maybe they can't themselves, but who knows)...
but yeah...like kongu said...it's probably going be too expensive to get a FL one nowadays thanks to the horrible exchange rate...i was just lucky enough to get mine while the dollar was strong
the jdm one has over 8k redline as the ukdm has just at 8k redline,do that explain it??
Anyone replaced their oem lights? or know where i can order one?
Doesnt matter where in the rev range, the JDM K20 is superior!
ebay?
can u buy the headlights "bulbs" from honda?
u talking about HID bulb or normal helogen?
HID's
Don't even go there with the UKDM EP3. They are inferior!
JDM EP3 Championship White wins. (in my opinion)
No matter how few silver etc there are in the country, Championship White is the colour Type-R's are renowned for and will be worth more than the other colours.
PS. (Sorry if this offends anyone, but it is a fact the CW is the unique Type-R colour)
dun think u can buy the whole type r headlight here. will need to be imported i guess.
Will the 2005 projector headlights fit in ours? Because if I had to change my headlights in my 02 EP3 I would put in FL ones I guess
IF it helps for the headlights, doubt they will fit properly like any other aftermarket ones though :p
