want lower the car, need suggestion~

for my experienced
kings spring good but too soft for more than 1.5" lowered, personally i wont use kings if i want to do very low
i choose kmac, its not best quality spring, but the spring rate is hard
thats all u nedd to avoid wheels scrub when drive over bumpy road

beside if you install bigger wheels just think that you already loose your handling and comfiness

buying teins coilover by itself, it doesnt mean you are doing proper lowering or you expect get better handling than stock
i think its only for those who try to get away from defect, so you dont need to go in and out workshop
you can adjust height yourself
i would get full suspension set up, adjustable chamber kit etc to match to do proper

if you want lower but comfy, just eibach h&R all those brand
but once install you wont notice the height different

Answer is simple: Eibach Springs keep the standard shocks but you need to put in a camber kit for the rear. They run about -2 degrees camber when lowered, which destroys tyres in less than 20K klms. Have been running this setup on my euro for over 4 years and it is great.

EuroZ, what your saying is to setup your rear camber kit to -2? or is -2 the product of lowering and you need to rectify it?

no for Q1 & yes for Q2,
when you lower the car the camber on the rear goes more negative, thus your wheels wear quicker.
wheels angled ---> //----\\ ( // left wheel \\ right wheel)
camber kit reduces the negative camber so your wheels sit straighter. to reduce tyre wear.

I dont know how you guys can drive on sydney roads in a lowered car, I've scratched the front underneath of my car 2-3 times now and I was being really careful, last night i was going out if this resturant driveway really slowly for the front but ended scratching the bottom of my exhaust tip when accelerating out :( stock height too

you need to angle it but your not lowered anyway andy, i've never scratched my exhaust at all while on stock

there is a place you cannot go is from forest rd hurstville ---> ormonde parade hurstville where the popo station is cause you scrap underneath the car.

Thanks, so when you put the camber kit in there is no need for a specific setting, it just straightens your wheels. how much are the rear camber kits?:thumbsup:

i have the ingalls rear camber kit for about $200-250 but if you have luxury with HIDs then you will either have to remove the HID auto leveller arms or cable tie/fabricate a bracket to it otherwise there may be some suspensions that have a bracket, and i am running TEIN Monoflex.

In regards to your no need for specific setting? Yes there is but you cant do it yourself as you dont have computers that can measure how much camber/toe you are running. you only can see by sight.

Just get your local tyre shop that does alignment to fix it up, as long as you tell them how to adjust it.

what do you want to get lowered on? coilovers, springs + shock combo or airbags? and how much of a drop? what are you looking for (looks, performance or comfort+ looks etc)?

I am still deciding whether I should go for spring+shock or coilovers, and I am looking for performance and look, but dont want to be too low, as it will be so trouble to drive around, lol:p

Camber adjustment is great... Great improvement of the handling esp in the corner. Tyre wear is normal for cars, no need to worry about it.
