Type R lip looks nice, but it doesn't sit much lower than the standard lip really.
Depends what your after i suppose.
Nah it won't fit, the 96-97 will be a bit shorter than 94-95. Why don't you get that fits 94-95, like this one

Do you think I should colour code the lips & skirts? Or just give them a going over in black?
I use to like it when lips are unpainted. But as of present I perfer colour coded.
I think it comes down to personal preferance.
Nice Accord Jarks updated one of mine sp33 POOWARR, mines nothing spesh http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/2004/img9439y.jpg
oh is that you mixtapes lol ive always wondered who owned the CD5
coming along there mixtapes :thumbsup:
I decided I'm gonna colour code my lips after lowering
Pretty sure I asked this before, but what offset are those wheels?
there a 40 offset and 7.5 in width mate.
the con caved spoke makes them look wider also
I just bought another 1997 CD5 (or is it 6?). Over the moon with this purchase. Missed my 94 CD5 so badly...
^ congrats on the purchase.
I'll post some pics as soon as I get her washed!
The interior is immaculate, mechanically great with only 141,000km when I bought her, although the exterior has a few dings here and there. I don't mind though...it's the perfect platform car for mods!
Having already played around with a CD5...and messed around with heaps of other cars...I'm pretty sure I know what I want to do with this one, and I'm gonna go all out! Either the best or not at all.
My priority mods in order of preference will be:
* New suspension with front/rear sway bars
* 18/19" dished rims! I had 17" dishes on the CD5 and they looked so puny...
* Cold air intake. I had a short ram intake on the CD5 and although it sounded nice, I think there was a fair bit of heat soak occurring...sucked in summer.
* Stainless steel headers (If I dedide the car will stay N/A)
* Full stainless steel exhaust from the block back. I'm tempted to just chuck on a muffler in the mean time but I prefer to get it done properly.
Then there are the little details...
* Clear side markers
* Clear/smoked bumper lights
* New front + rear lights if I can find anything non-ricer and maybe some HIDs
* CD5 or aftermarket grille
* PU front lip (learnt my lesson with fibreglass body kits. Never again.)
* SiR side skirts if I can source them
* Rear lip if I can find it
I plan to shave all the badges off (Except the H emblem...damn holes) and either paint or remove the door guards.
nice nice, congrats on purchase ! post some piccy's up asap ! lol u think 17's look puny i GOT 15'S LMAO still waiting 2 upgrade 2 16/17'z
They're a pain in the ass to fit and align...and they're easily damaged!
And I meant hid kits. Just an el-cheapo one
wrong! cd5 or cd6 isnt related to the year the car was made.
simply, cd6 is a SiR accord with H22A (dohc). similar engine you found in some preludes and gen 6 jdm accord euro-R CL1.
cd5 is regular accord with F22A engine. there was no aus delivered cd6 accord. new zealand did have tho.
Yeah my car is a 97 CD5 :)
guys needs sum help..i finally got the aftermarket grill. trying to uninstall the stock grill, i remove all the screws on the top is still holding it inside. can any1 help me? i dnt want to break the clips though, but theres like there 2 clips
Those clips are attached to the headlights. I just used a long flathead screwdriver to poke the clips out. Something like that. And a bit of force lol.
Uh, Wrong.
CD5 = pre facelift.
CD6 = post facelift.
Minor cosmetic differences, including front bar, grille, rear tail lights and f/r lips.
Major difference being switch from ODB-I in CD5 to ODB-II for CD6.
SiR = trim spec, has H22A.
Vti/Vti-S = trim spec, has F22B1
EXi = trim spec, has F22A
Year is a factor. As far as I can tell, the crossover point is about mid to late 1995.
Xenon: If that's true then I'll stand corrected. Show me your VIN please.
skyflyer: obviously? please demonstrate the obviousness of my ignorance.

hope those will enlighten you a bit. and there was no intention of having a go at you; just want to straighten the fact and thats all! but obviously, i'd rather keep myself quiet if i dont know what i'm into or i dont know the subject i'm dealing with.
we are all here to gain, and share knowledge, but its up to you if you decide to stop posting.
as a side note, i'm approaching 30 years old pretty soon (in my late 20s now). so now, who is the kid?
I'm going on the experience of seeing the VIN codes on cars in person. I'm wondering if you've seen a JDM SiR car in person, and if you have whether you've read the VIN code. It doesn't say CD6...
On that note, have you read the VIN codes of cars other than your own?
And as for your side note, sad as it is, you're still the kid I'm afraid.
If it's alright by your lol-ness I'll stand by my views until proven otherwise.
up to you. believe it all the way you want to.
if i sounded too harsh before, then apology. also, there is no point wasting so much energy and getting someone to believe thing that they refuse to.
and, nothing to brag about, but when i was in malaysia, a close mate of mine used to have a sir/cd6 accord with crinkle blue valve cover h22a motor and one mate even had the gen 6 jdm accord - both cf4 and euro-R CL1. we used to have an accord gathering every so often. so yes, i've seen one and i've driven one.
the main argument is not about the vin/chassis code. but the point i want to stress is the sir/cd6 is another gen-5 accord variant, with cd5 as another variant, and so is cd3, and so is cd4 - as opposed to what you believe cd6 as the continuation of cd5 (and year as the factor). same goes to wagon. the ce1 is the regular (one variant of) gen-5 accord wagon, and cf2 is the sir equivalent (another variant). not continuation (facelift) of one model to another.
there exists both 1994 and 1995 sir/cd6 accords.
enough said.
again, believe what you want to believe. no hard feelings.
come down boys.. chill out.. lets move on.. any idea about the front grill clips that is clip in the headlights? do i just pull them out? or wat lol...
need sum help
I'm not doing this to prove anyone wrong, I just want to clarify things for those who are confused. Here are some pictures from my car:

Feverpitched........What is wrong with you, Skyflyer has show you proof that you may be misinformed. Its ok to admit that you may have made a mistake! Only a "Kid" carries on like you! In case you missed it, below is a shot of chassis codes....
As Xenon has shown........its CD5
Lets move on.....!
Hecticfilo......pics of grille pls :)
Oh sweet! Nice grill! I was choosing between that one and the pre-facelift grill. I'll definitely be going for the one you have :D did you paint it? and did you buy it off eBay?
Btw man, I notice you are still using the number plate holder...I'd recommend removing that and drilling a couple of small holes into the bumper and screwing the plates in. I did it a couple of days ago, makes a big difference :thumbsup:
Nepolian, thanks for that chart. I didn't know they had 98 CD5's though! I thought production ended in 97.
How I'd love a CD8...couple SiR...mmm...
Check out this Aerodeck!
