Theres a fair few fake ones on the net.
Real ones have distinct metal mounting brackets to the boot where as the fakes have fibreglass or hardened plastic.

WTF didn't even realise AK had closed I wanted to buy my new manifold from them in the future oh well I'll source directy from the states I guess.
I think Andy is just moving location..(hope so..)
They shut their ringwood factory and are currently looking for a factory out in the Sth east suburbs I believe, needed a bigger workshop. Andy is working out of Fitzgerald racing in Box hill at the moment (Porsche tuning place) so my car is there. Should see some of the cars out the front of that place!!
Wow man what R U doing now to your beast,it's already a weapon! :)
Oh,I see your a bodyboarder too!! It's the shiz aye, that was my life for 17 yrs..
haha Thanks man  nothing major this time, just a service, new catch can setup and a bigger vacuum box for my quads. As well as new drive shaft boots.
Dude, I have riding the Lid for about 15 years as well. Love it. Just have to drive like 2 hours to the closest decent wave :o sucks, but worth it when its on.
I finially checked on the map where ya are, super close to Andy! i was just down in St kilda for a week a while back,ya might have seen the pics already - link
So nice down there!! I was really impressed, loved it!
So have U driven great ocean road a few times? :) THAT'S what I really wanna do!
I'm about half hour drive from his old workshop in Ringwood so wasn't too bad. I have driven the GOR a couple of times, but it is so far away and gets a lot of traffic so not really worth the drive unless you have a big group going, which doesn't seem to happen anymore. To be honest most of the best roads in VIcco are at or really close to my house in Healesville. That and the Mt Baw Baw road, but that is also ages away from my place.
Mt Baw Baw > Reefton Spur/Black spur > GOR.
Cheers for that, great to know Mike!
Well today I used done some pre-summer polishing/protecting of the body work on the car.
I used meguirs scratch X 2.0,then polish and wax.I did 1/3 of the car,it took 2 1/2 hrs and looks Brilliant. The scratch X 2.0 takes out all the small scratches, just what my car needs.
I attempted to put my front strut brace on, but had no success. The bolts are on very very tight... I was Pushing on the house wall trying to loosen them....
use a breaker bar man, thats the only real diy tool i can think of besides using a air gun, lol
finally able to get the car back on the road after a full rebuild to the D16, needed new rings, con rod bearings, thrust bearing, valve stem seals, new clutch. also lightened the flywheel, ported the intake and exhaust's, Valve regrind and reseat. currently driving it on the break in period but absolutely feel its pulling alot more power than the stock motor ;D
thrashed it :D
looked at it and got sad that its not running :(
Gave her some TLC with a wash and polish + fitted decals and garnish set:

I like the garnish on the door sills, looks cool
I have been up all night getting the car ready for autosalon. Literally just finished now at 4am... (sort of finshed, still needs a vacuum) I Lowered it to the lowest the Buddyclubs RSD's could go (prob not as low as i had hoped but low enough :) ), fitted my EK9 door visors (pain in the ass...) Fitted my super hot spoon wipers (sik), made a bracket and mounted up the new Vacuum box for the quads, Put the freshly painted front bar on ( had to put that back together - fogs, winglets, grill etc) Also had some new T1R's fitted today, now i have a small amount of stretch action going on haha It has been a long night :/ sigh.
 Good work will definetly come to see you car
put the interior back in all is good need conversion harness, need fuel press hose and need to connect the brake hose then register then tune and im set :D
then respray then new wheels blahblahblahblahba
got my strut brace installed, had to use a rattle gun to get the last bolt off
I used meguiar's spray to clean the dust off yesterday, now it's in the show getting some touch ups and a few things wired up
then ipod box installed :)
Damn doing big things aye :P That dude that rang me yday might be buying my car after all :D so stoked aye but not getting TOO excited just yet. Thanks for showing me around yday man and introducing me to some of the people it was good to finally talk to some brisbane Honda people so next time i go up i dont feel so nigel :D
big is next month better sway, asr, f7 this and that and waiting for suspension
also rebuilding a rear disc conversion set up
I hope so, I wouldnt mind trying to tee up something with some workshops to try and display their goods or something along those lines?
today I painted my brake calipers and rear drums...
unfortunately my personalised plates were colour coded to another car so I painted them gold so the numberplate doesn't look odd... lol

Short ram air intake with pod filter and magnaflow exhaust on order...
damn man that looks good, suits the car!
i was a bit iffy about the gold at first... but wanted to do something different because everyone goes for the "go fast" colours... red is really over done... so classy yet a little flashy and doesn't attract TOO much attention...
I like it. Love the gold. So much nicer than the red IMO :)
What brand did you use? Did you do primer and clear?
What headers did you use Bobby? They look awesome! ;)
no primer... just 4 coats... and i used VHT Caliper paint... $16.95 @ Auto Barn...
used a wire brush to scrub the outside and sprayed it with K&H Wax and grease remover (degreaser solvent - quick dry), then used the heat gun on it to make sure it was 100% dry... after that just 4 light coats of the VHT Caliper Paint... the longest part was waiting for each coat to touch dry 100% before putting the next coat on... about 10 mins in between each coat...
I did mine gold back in the day, looks good imo. Nice work
Today i sent the Ek to get a new d16 :) since the old 1 had Spun the main bearing :P now to get a fresh k's motor :P!!
lol chickeneg3 i got those wheel on my ek in ur pic well Gab copy there T's red polished lip :P in 4studd
Yeh turbos nice drove my mates 1 and i fell inlove LOL but costly when the bottem shit itself LOL then shit itself within a day HAHA thats wat 14psi does :P
nice eg, bit ricey though

Gonna start stripping my car... and start wire tucking my car!! :D

4" cannon exhaust going on tomorrow :thumbsup:
nice.. be careful buddy thats defect unless you can make a cover for it which im gonna do this weekend aswell. get some headers and youll be set will sound even better.
I'm hopefully selling my EK this afternoon :D
drain the oil in the sump, and started it up, no excuses for motor swap
yeah, did that last night, and went straight out and bought a heat sheild this morning for it... its all legal now :D
CBF taking photos of it right now because it was a real tricky piece of work getting it in with the bracket and all the rest of it... lol... on that note, the power gain is noticable on a D-Series engine... had a turbo-charged subaru outback with a nice exhaust on it give me a run at a set of lights... but i stopped trying at 60km/h because i'm good lil boy ;)
All depends on the policeman unfortunately... A mate of mine had CAI setup, pod down inside the front bar and they still put it down as a defect. simply because it wasn't stock.... They can pretty much defect anything they want to be honest.... Meh, don't worry about it man, the sound and slight power increase are worth the tiny risk
Not sure where Healesville is (NSW / Sydney i'm guessing), but in QLD they generally don't cause too much issue with things like this... the only time they go thru ur car with a fine tooth comb is if ur acting like a complete twat and deserve to get defected... with all the hooning laws up here its hard for ppl doing dodgy stuff to get away with it anymore... as long as the car isn't slammed to the shit-house and looks respectable and ur not driving ridiculously they'll leave u alone... exposed they'll put on a turn, but the if its covered by at least a heat sheild they don't worry... still got all the stock parts handy anyway just incase ;)
DNYALL your car looked great at the show - how'd you shine your valve cover? Looks fantastic in ur engine bay!
didnt do it 2day but put these on yesterday.

Hey man let me know how the BCs treat you as im looking into buying a set soon. Cheers
there great i also have them on my ES and they are awesome, been thru many track days.
i took it for a drive last nite and all was set on 0 and it felt awesome, it stiffened up the car alot and took all the roll out. i also changed the spring rate when i ordered them so these are a bit stiffer then the usual EK spring you get with them.
the EK is a track only car.
what are the spring rate for BC? Just curious as im wanting to buy these in the near future....
Isnt the Ek9's running some where around 8-9kg/mm factory? so these coilovers would some what needa be around 10-12kg/mm to put perform ek9 suspension right
i think when ordering BC, you can specify what spring rates you want. 12F 10R sounds good :D but you have to put up with the harsh ride lols
yes like eekayfour said when u order BC u can specify what spring rates u want. i choose the 12f 10R, as per what its suppose to be 12/6, which is really off if u ask me.
Hardrace stuff is AWESOME!! i am rockin there Spherical trailing arm bushing. spot on gear. Not sure on those BC's to be honest, but then i haven't tryed them so i can't say much. They just seem to remind me of all the rest of the generic coil over brands eg. D2, HSD, K-sport etc. Can't wait to be out on the track with you and your EK mate
yea 12/6 sounds abit uneven, hmmm, 12/10 sounds like the good combo :)
Harsh rides are what makes the experience for coilovers better, lol
Integra Blades VS EK4 Wheels.....
Changed them back to EK4 ones as the blades had bald tyres.
What do you guys think of polished EK4 wheels?

get out of our thread! traitor!!
:p congrats on the sale~ finally !
There will be when the rain pisses off and I have a chance to wash it n take some photos! I was shocked at how well it performs for being dead stock!
lol the pic of the EG in the background looks like its floating.
