arrggsshhh still y do i ahve -12?
only 1 person -reped me
I still can't figure out how to give PQ.
the icons above are not showing so I'm not sure which one u r talkin abt.
sorry..
click on the box next to the green dot :)
hmm well in my user cp it says ive got 5 rep points but i can only see 3 (2 greens and a grey). dunno wats with the other 2...
also how many pq points do i need to get rid of my 'unknown quantity at this point' status?
theres prob an easy explanation here i jus dont know it :)
Click the little icon that looks like this -> http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/images/...reputation.gif
It depends on the user giving you the point. The green dot just means you got a +.ve point but that user might have a rep power of 2 (meaning he effectively gave you 2 points).
Like I keep telling everyone......don't get caught up in having the 'most number of points'. The system was only brought in to stop people spamming in order to sell things!
i have question...
when a new user gives a + rep point it still comes up as a grey square (i base this on having + rep from newbies, with positive comments...maybe im wrong and they messed up), yet i also got a - rep from a new user, which was just a transparent grey square too, see the attached pic.
my question is, if the user doesnt leave a comment, and is a newbie, how do we know whether theyve left + or - rep?
If the box is grey it means that user has no rep power. Ie you can't tell if they gave you +rep or -rep.
If they gave you +rep the box will be green.
If they gave you -rep the box will be red
EDIT: Just updated the first post to address your question:

How do I know if someone gave me a Positive PQ point or a Negative PQ Point?
In your UserCP, if the little box next to the PQ point another user gave you is green then you got a positive PQ point. If the box is Red you got a negative PQ point. If the box is grey, then that user had no 'rep power' and hence no effect on your total number of PQ points.
thanks :)
when they get enough points themselves to be able to give red/green, will it change, or is it only from that point on?
I have one that is a gray box but I bet it's a red one
^Respect :)
respect ^^^
rep points are overated
good system, avoid spam
If i give someone a PQ point and im under 50 PQ points myself, the box for them is GREY and they dont receive any points.
But later if i exceed 50 PQ points therefor enabling me to actually hand out points.. do the ppl i gave a point to earlier receive a point? does their box turn GREEN?
or it only counts when im 50 PQ points or more?
when you get to 50, all points you give AFTER that time have effect.
it doesnt change points you have given out in the past.
cheers big ears!
Drew gave me rep point.. and now its gone..
just wondering how does that work?
Please explain a bit more what u mean
Drew gave me Rep Points the other day.. and then i was on 67 points. and now im back to 50 points?
maybe you got some neg rep?
wouldn't it show on the "latest reputation received"? as a red block? in User CP
yes, it should show in the "latest reputation received" as a red block.
^^ if that's the case. it still doesnt explain why i lost the points?
doesnt show any neg rep points?
please explain modders! im not fussed over it.. just need explaination!
lol
read post 264, don't stress over it
possible that they were removed , been given out by someone for a unnecessary reason ( IE in the lounge ). Chances are Ive removed quite a few and only dished out warnings for singular items etc. Dont worry guys im back into giving out infractions for misuse of PQ system -
so remember to use the PQ system in the right situation :)
What exact posts were they for ? Do u recall?
if anything else just post here dude :)
Updated "When/where to give PQ points?" in the first post.
if you start posting in the tech section i sure you will earn some points.
I negative repped someone and then they obviously just went searching through my posts to find something to negative rep me back....
Shouldnt you do something to safeguard this, ie users are not allowed to negative rep someone whom they just recieved a negative rep from for a certain time or something? Preventing users from negative repping out of spite.
Just a thought....
Benjamin - you have 7 green blocks - thats abusing the system right there.
lol......... show's technical knowledge of a user in a way..
and to noobs this would benefit since this is a forum to discuss matters and imo i would take advice from someone with more blocks i guess.. not meaning that theyre ALWAYS right..
but yeah
suck on it
No I don't realise that. You could have 8 green blocks too if you wanted to contribute.
Your contribution has been so sour over the last year or so - it is almost like every time you post it coincides with the bad part of your menstrual cycle. You can't be bitter for the rest of your life.
i can see where you're coming from in regards to the pq system being a popularity contest. But i hope people can look past that.
and the average member would know this HOW exactly? I dont think the PQ systems gives that kind of transparency does it.
Another reason it's flawed.
No matter what examples I hand to you, they'll never suffice... will they?
*bennjamin edit not needed*
it is only a guide man ... not a definitive answer to IQ/ability/knoweldge
instead of personal attacks , reply only with some thoughts or constructive criticism relevant to the topic title.
One thing ive noticed is that its the same 20-30 people dishing out rep to people all over the forum , while a percentile gets the 1 point needed and sells off some crap and then disappears.

Indeed.
Proecu has been temporarily banned due to being hypocritical of the very ideas he stands up for.(abusing the reputation system)He will be back in 7 days so hang in there.
BTW is there any constructive comments or issues ?
plus if it was id have way points than what i have now lol
i gotta start posting more tech stuff.. just recently ive had a bad case of cbf, today was the first day in 2 weeks i went to work lol
there is knowledge & there is knowledge.
I think the system is pointless and over rated
In all honesty, alot of the time I actually refrain from posting 'technical' advice even though it may well be quite helpful, simply because most of the time it will just be criticised or scrutinised by the e-mechanics with all their green blocks.... Its actually quite pathetic IMHO and a very bad mentality.
Also... I think alot of you guys, especially the mods, are just being overly sensitive to some of the comments being made.... or are you just afraid the emo's on this forum will take them to heart and might kill themselves? lol
btw, if u think i'm having a go at you, yes, somewhat . but that doesnt mean i'm out ot make enemies of any sort.
i do believe in peace on OH amonsgt members and noobs. and conflicting members.
But some people, not just you, all, have to reprioritise what is really important. Having a go at providing advice, potentially getting it wrong and learning from it OR Having a go, and getting shot down and never contributing again.
For me, its point number 1.
and if u think i'm getting PQ from friends, think again. DIYS, general technical posts on threads that noone even looks at, helping out noobs. Do i see that from you and a few otehrs? not likely...
Isnt that what this whole thread is about?
What makes you think I would even bother 'flaming' you back?
Also, I think you misunderstand me completely, my point is when you try to give 'real world' advice on this forum it is usually shot down by users whom insist on giving dreamworld internet advice, where everyone needs to have a K swap or toda parts....
hell mate, hehe i am completely against K swaps, and usually against brand name parts.
but that thread u neg repped me on, was about gaining the most from an already highly tuned engine. Not one that came from factory with restrictions.
when you think about it, R&D , testing, $$$ spent on manufacturing, design and quality on THAT particular car in question, you would get better gains than a factory pumping out parts purely for profit.
I wasnt just refering to you, it is wide spread throughout this forum
Then sincere apologies on my behalf. I misunderstood your intentions.
Peace ppl :)
Qball loves you all!
lol, bunch of e thugs in here

I know its off topic, but I just think its important for some of the less educated users to understand that the some best parts arnt always the most expensive... that some users on this site offer bias advice and are just in it to make money, IMO the RP system is used to promote this even more.
I do agree with you about the R&D and money spent developing products, however I think alot of ppl dont actually realise some of the 'brand' name parts are in fact mass produced items stamped with their own logo/brand name....
