LOL - the head effects EVERYTHING - its where all the action happens for making n/a power
the Type-S has much more aggressive cams and a better flowing head - it would effectively turn your car into a 4-door JDM Dc5 Type-R
(our K20z1 has more in common with the JDM Dc5 ITR K20 and our AUDM ITR)
match that with intake, headers, exhaust and a good tune and you should have a damn nice car
if you have a heavy leather interior u may want to get some recaros and swap out the back seat for the basemodel
do a few things like this to save weight etc - light wheels - light battery
and where can we get z1 heads?
Wreckers. Costly too
wreckers, ebay, forums - keep ur eyes open n you might pick up a bargain
im sure the K20a2 head and a few others would be fine as well
I had a run with my bros s2k this morning and I was only half a car or so behind from a standstill. I think all you guys who drive fd1s and think the fd2 is a pos haven't yet driven one (properly)
the s2k is also very over glorified as well lol
the R18 and K20 in the ausdm model civics have alot of potential
as do the D16 and D15's - people just form misconceptions about them straight away
look what i have done with my D15b7.....

yeah im working on it still - i went back to college this week so time is a bit tight at the moment - and theres alot of vid to sort through lol
the z1 engine as mentioned earlier is from a dc5s. the head is the top of the engine (head & bottom)
lol - i think you should research on how an engine is built before rushing into any major changes like this lol
the head on an engine is where all the action happens, it houses the cams, the valves and the intake and exhaust ports for the cylinder
it controlls how the engine breathes

as for designations ... there are different types of K20 - models made for efficiency and models made for performance
the main differences are usually in the head, intake and exhaust
for example - the K20z3 is the model found in the Civic and is more designed towards efficiency, the K20z1 is the model found in the Dc5 Integra Type-S and is designed for performance
the K20z1 has a really nice vtec setup on the exhaust cam as well (the bad thing about the Type-S though is the heavy leather interior lol)

therefor it would be advantageous to change the head of the engine to that of a K20z1 - or if it is possible convert it to Z1 specifications
