The cost of base oil more than doubled in price over the past 2-3 years. That and inflation, hence the price changes.

A machine tests how much pressure an oil film can take before there's metal to metal contact I think.

Left out my key point which was when durablend was $26 HPR 5 was $38. Now days valvoline cost more that penrite? I know which oil I'd buy...

Would you believe someone if in 5 years time they told you skunk 2 coil overs were more expensive than TODA?

Hpr10 42.99 @ autobarn it stated in the product info that it is recommended for vtec motors.

B series in excess of 150,000kms which havent been rebuilt should prob use 10w50? No?

average K series shouldnt use thicker than 5w30-40

Nah, don't use 10w50, 50 is too thick, sure it might minimise the oil burning but you're working the engine even harder, more likely to cause more harm than good not to mention worsen your fuel economy. And if you're the type to give it many hits in a night, think of it like running in thick sloppy mud...

Looked at the hpr5 5w40, I've used elf 5w-40 burnt too quickly.
